Mexican Government Opening CA Office to Issue Fake ID Cards to Illegals, Orders U.S. Not to Enforce Our Laws

An interesting article from www.vdare.com about the Matricular Consular card that you might want to tell your representative to stop accepting here. This follows this post about the benefits immigrants are receiving. This follows this post about amnesty and Black Americans. This follows this post about the TPP. This follows this post on HOW amnesty is funded in ways other than the DHS. Remember, “Amnesty” means ANY non-enforcement of existing immigration laws! This follows this comment and this post about how to Report Illegal Immigrants! Also, you can read two very interesting books HERE.

Mexican Government Opening CA Office to Issue Fake ID Cards to Illegals, Orders U.S. Not to Enforce Our Laws

The Mexican government is opening a satellite consular office on Catalina Island — a small resort off the California coast with a history of drug smuggling and human trafficking — to provide the island’s illegal Mexican immigrants with identification cards…
The Mexican consular office in Los Angeles issued a flier… It invites Mexicans to visit the office to obtain the identification, called matricular cards, by appointment. [NS: The Mexicans have since moved the illegal operation from the Catalina Island Country Club “to a Catholic Church – citing protection under the Geneva Convention.”]
Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, a Republican whose district includes Catalina Island, said handing out matricular cards will exacerbate an already dangerous situation.
“Handing out matricular cards to Mexicans who are not in this country legally is wrong no matter where it’s done,” he said. “But on Catalina it will do more damage. It’s a small island but there’s evidence it’s being used as a portal for illegals to access mainland California.”
Rohrabacher added, “If there were a large number of Americans illegally in Mexico and the U.S. consulate was making it easier for them to stay, Mexico would never permit it.”…
The matricular consular identification card, is issued by the Mexican government to Mexican nationals residing outside the country, regardless of immigration status. The purpose is to provide identification for opening bank accounts and obtaining other services. But the cards are usually used to skirt U.S. immigration laws, since Mexicans in the country legally have documents proving that status, Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials said….
Officers with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said their agency was asked by Mexican officials not to enforce U.S. immigration laws on the island while the cards were being issued.
“It amazes me every time that the Mexican government has the gall to tell us what to do,” said an ICE official, who asked not to be named. “More surprisingly is how many times we stand by and let them. This is just an example of one of hundreds of requests we’ve had to deal with.”…
The island has a sizable Mexican migrant population. Most are undocumented low-income workers.
“Mexico opens California office to provide ID for illegals,” by Sara A. Carter, Washington Examiner, June 3, 2010.
The only thing a matricular consular card is good for, is as proof that its bearer is an illegal alien. A legal immigrant will have legitimate ID—a passport with an I-94 stamp—and thus have no need for phony ID.
Not only are Mexican officials illegally meddling in internal American affairs, but they are conspiring to aid and abet in the breaking of American immigration and other laws. The Geneva Conventions do not permit the use of houses of worship (or consulates, for that matter), in order to commit crimes. Why are Mexico’s consulates not being padlocked, and their personnel sent packing? Oh, yeah, I remember: Because America is ruled by traitors.
By the way, while consular officials may enjoy diplomatic immunity from arrest—which is why they would have to be deported, instead of arrested—no such immunity extends to criminal clerics.
A tip ‘o the hat to American Renaissance.

Affirmative Action Personality Eva Longoria is Awarded an M.A. in Reconquista Propaganda

There are women who are kind, and women who are pretty, and women who are talented, and women who are shapely, and women who are intelligent. Some few are all of those things; Eva Longoria is none of them. Her claim to fame is that she is an aggressive, irredentist racist who usually wears more makeup and tighter clothes than a 10th Avenue hooker.

Why Isn’t Chicano Comedian George Lopez A Loyal American?

A very interesting post from www.Vdare.com about a comedian named George Lopez. This follows this post about the Burning Man concert.  This follows this post about some of the music that was poplular during 2011. This follows THIS POST about some movies that have been released over the past few years that you might have missed! This all follows this post about guidelines to chosing good movies to watch yourself.

Memo From Middle America

Assimilation Fail: Why Isn’t Chicano Comedian George Lopez A Loyal American?

http://www.vdare.com/articles/assimilation-fail-why-isn-t-chicano-comedian-george-lopez-loyal

By Allan Wall

“…Sheriff Joe in Arizona, f--- you, you f---in’ puto. [Loud applause] How about that? F--- you, you fat motherf---er f--- you. I said I was gonna talk some sh-t, f--- you, Sheriff Joe, you f---in’ puto [Spanish-language profanity]. F--- you.” [Loud applause].

—George Lopez, “It’s Not Me It’s You” HBO Special

This angry, and very unfunny rant, was recently uttered by Mexican-American comedian George Lopez to a large audience which applauded loudly. ).

Hear it here—language warning.

Why is George Lopez, a professional comedian, so angry at Joe Arpaio, sheriff of Arizona’s Maricopa County, fighting the illegal invasion of his county?

Lopez is a successful Mexican-American entertainer who has based his career on being Mexican-American. Born in 1961 in California, and eventually abandoned by both his parents, George was raised by his maternal grandmother who provides many of the anecdotes in his stand-up routine.

Besides his long career in stand-up comedy, Lopez has hosted a radio show, been an NFL commentator, acted on television and in movies. From 2002 to 2007 he was the producer, writer and star of the “George Lopez” sitcom, which was followed by hosting TV talk show Lopez Tonight, from 2009 to 2011. George Lopez has published his autobiography, Why You Crying? co-written by CBS’s Armen Keteyian and has a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame.

So George Lopez is a celebrity in today’s celebrity-crazed society. And he’s richer than most of us will ever be. And yet, like Eva Longoria and other prominent Mexican-American celebrities, there is something in George Lopez’s soul that doesn’t identify with, and even seems to resent, the historical American nation.

For example, unlike most Americans, George Lopez opposes Arizona’s SB 1070. Why is that?

If Lopez weren’t a Mexican-American, he wouldn’t even be famous. Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t his whole shtick based on his identity as a Mexican-American?

When the George Lopez sitcom was cancelled in 2007, Lopez made a racial case out of it, bellyaching that “TV just became really, really white again.” (According to DNA testing, George Lopez is 55% white, but of course he doesn’t identify as white). Complaining about another program entitled “Caveman”, Lopez reasoned that

So a...Chicano can't be on TV but a...caveman can?" "And a Chicano with an audience already? You know when you get in this that shows do not last forever, but this was an important show and to go unceremoniously like this hurts? [Lopez apparently can't stop swearing for ten minutes--The three dot ellipses are the LA TIMES’s for what they call “ colorful language that cannot be printed in a family newspaper”.]

”TV just got a lot 'whiter,' says a canceled George Lopez ,' says a  LA Times, May 14th, 2007

Well, I’ve never had my own sitcom, nor have most white Americans, yet Lopez had one for five years. So who’s being discriminated against?

Some might say, “Lopez is just a comedian, don’t take it seriously.” But there’s a Spanish proverb that says “Entre broma y broma, la verdad se asoma”—“Between joke and joke, the truth is shown”. Comedians have agendas too.

I did some random listening to some of Lopez’s work on YouTube. It’s sometimes humorous, but it can get old. And some of it would certainly get a white Anglo into trouble—for example, this routine here, about a limited-English Latino employee in the drive-through of a Jack in the Box fast food restaurant, with the accent and everything.

A common theme running through Lopez’ work is that Latinos are vibrant, exciting, spontaneous people, while white people are effete and uptight.

In this video of It’s Not Me, It’s You, Lopez boast of Latinos stealing warning signs for mopped floors to be used as soccer goalposts, about Latinos drinking in front of their children, and about stealing from the White House. When asked what kind of American would steal from the President, Lopez replies “a Mexican-American”.

Lopez boasts about Latino kids not being spoiled and contrasts them with white kids who are “entitled” and all on Ritalin.

Lopez says “Latinas are beautiful. The problem is you got to get ‘em before they get fat. “

Another Lopez line: “You can’t get 25 black and Latino people together unless you have drugs and alcohol.”

Lopez talks about his grandmother being racist against blacks and jokes about Sonia Sotomayor getting injured and collecting worker’s comp before entering the Supreme Court.

Near the beginning, Lopez indignantly declares:

“We [Latinos] get blamed for so much sh-t and we take it. I’m telling you tonight, we don’t have to take that sh-t anymore. It’s our time.” At the end of the video he cries “Viva Mexico, Viva la La Raza!”

In another video, Lopez begins with some Latino triumphalism:

Let me say this about immigration so you finally hear it from a Latino. We ain’t going nowhere… The stupidest thing to do is to assume that we’re all from Mexico. "Well, what part of Mexico are your ancestors from?” Los Angeles, bitch. I got a breathtaking view of the King Taco, it’s lovely, I watch people get shanked every weekend.

George Lopez - America's Mexican  (2007)

Indeed, Lopez almost speaks proudly of Latino crime:” We don’t go for extreme sports, you know, walking in our f---ing neighborhood is an extreme sport.”

The comedian ridicules deportation, depicting an illegal alien saying to his aunt “I gotta go back to Mexico, I’ll be right back, though, watch my plate. “

(Of course, he has a point here, with our ridiculously low deportation rate and lack of punishment for repeat offenders).

In the same video, Lopez ridicules California’s then-governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s accent, saying that it makes him a hypocrite to support “English Only”. Lopez curses both Schwarzenegger and President Bush with a “F--- that, puto!”

After all that pandering, this is the thanks Bush receives!

(See my Adiós to Presidente Bush: - A Retrospective on the Pandering President).

Now, getting back to the “It’s Not Me, It’s You” show, which includes the anti-Arpaio rant: the entire show is here, Lopez' comments on Romney and Arpaio are here.

Near the beginning, Lopez goes off into a “Hispanics Decide the Election” riff:

This is an election year; we all know it’s an election year. Latinos have the most powerful vote in this country. [Applause building] The Latino vote is very powerful. We have to realize that our vote can change the course of this political campaign. We can elect the president. We!

Later, he makes fun of Mitt Romney:

Mitt Romney wants the Latino vote. He ain't gonna get it. (BOOING) He ain’t gonna get it. And you know why? Because Mitt Romney is a f---in' Latino and he won’t admit it. His father was born in Chihuahua, México. Mitt Romney is a Chicano but he won’t admit it. "I’m not, I’m Danish, I’m French." [imitating Romney]

[Directed to Romney] If you want our vote, puto, come out of the closet. Get a hairnet and lean back and say,”My llamo Mitt pero me puede llamar guante.” [“But you can call me ‘guante’—Spanish for mitt, in the sense of glove.]

As for the Arpaio rant, there is no nuance to it, no explanation, it just burst forth. It isn’t even funny. Lopez seems genuinely angry.

Bu his audience loves it, as the angry comedian curses a man many Americans admire, a man who takes seriously the charge he has been entrusted with.

Joe Arpaio has served as sheriff of Maricopa County for twenty years, having first been elected in 1992, then re-elected four times.

How many elections has George Lopez run in? Why is George Lopez so angry that Sheriff Arpaio is trying to enforce the law?

Why is George Lopez so angry about our immigration law being enforced?

What does this say about Mexican assimilation?

Mexican TV?

"Stuck on Stereotypes"

Why don't relatively smart, sophisticated network TV shows like multiple Emmy-winning Modern Family do well with the Hispanic audience? The answer, according to a variety of Latino activist and media types in the electronic rolodexes of New York Times reporters, is that Modern Family isn't smart and sophisticated enough to lure Latino audiences away from Spanish-language shows.

To find out, the New York Times interviewed various self-appointed spokespersons for the Hispanic Tidal Wave, such as

- "the co-owner and chief operating officer of the advertising agency Zubi Advertising,"

- the "founder of the Web site Latino Rebels,"

- a "31-year-old Mexican-American documentary filmmaker,"

- and "a senior vice president for development and production at Encanto Enterprises."

You can't get a much more statistically representative sample of the typical Hispanic than that (at least, among people who will instantly return Times' reporters calls and not tell them anything that might make them the slightest bit uncomfortable.)

Thus, they all told the NYT that the reason is because these shows like Modern Family are full of insensitive stereotypes about Hispanics and thus turn off the millions of culturally cutting edge Latino viewers who are annoyed by retrograde stereotyping of Hispanics (which by the way, I must add, could be solved just like that by hiring the people being quoted).

Thus, due to white racists who fail to perceive how sophisticated the burgeoning Latino audience is, Hispanics viewers just stick with watching Sabado Gigante, where they are sure to see a fat mestizo guy with a droopy Pancho Villa mustache and a giant sombrero leer at some dyed blonde spicy senorita and fall down. No stereotyping of Mexicans on Spanish language TV! (Or at least that's the logical implication of this article -- neither the reporters nor the sources for the article give any indication of ever having watched Spanish language programming.)

Stuck on Stereotypes

Networks Struggle to Appeal to Hispanics

By TANZINA VEGA and BILL CARTER

Sofia Vergara is probably the most recognizable Hispanic actress working in English-language television. She is one of the stars of “Modern Family,” the highest-rated scripted show on network television, and she has parlayed her celebrity into commercials for brands like Pepsi and Cover Girl.

Despite her popularity, “Modern Family” is not a hit with Hispanic viewers. Out of its overall viewership of 12.9 million, “Modern Family” drew an average of only about 798,000 Hispanic viewers in the season. That audience accounts for only about 6 percent of the show’s viewers — less than half of what you might expect given the 48 million Hispanic television viewers that Nielsen measures. ...

The numbers encapsulate the problem facing English-language television executives and advertisers: they desperately want to appeal to the more than 50 million Latinos in the United States (about three-quarters speak Spanish), especially those who are young, bilingual and bicultural, but those viewers seem to want very little to do with American English-language television.

They do, however, continue to watch Spanish-language networks in huge numbers.

In May, on the final night of the most recent season of “Modern Family,” far more Hispanic viewers were watching the top Spanish language show that week, the telenovela “La Que No Podía Amar,” on Univision, which attracted 5.2 million viewers.

... The list of top English-language shows watched by Hispanics is headed by the same competition shows as among the total audience, with “Dancing With the Stars,” and “American Idol” faring best this spring, while “Sunday Night Football” was the leader in the fall.

But the discrepancy between English and Spanish language shows is most acute among shows that are scripted in English. The issue, many viewers and critics argue, is that there still hasn’t been the Hispanic equivalent of “The Cosby Show,” meaning a show that deals with Latino culture in a way that doesn’t offend viewers with crude stereotypes.

This winter, CBS hoped to have a cross-cultural hit with the show “Rob” featuring the comedian Rob Schneider. The show, based loosely on Mr. Schneider’s own life, showed his experiences of marrying into a Mexican family and the culture clashes that ensued. But the chief conflict ended up being between the show and its intended viewers.

“Big family,” said Mr. Schneider’s character, when he meets his wife’s family for the first time. “Now I know what’s going on during all those siestas.” In another scene, the character Hector, played by Eugenio Derbez, tells Rob that he is visiting from Mexico. Then he gets closer to Rob and whispers, “I’m not leaving,” and after pausing for effect adds, “Ever.”

For Joe Zubizarreta, the co-owner and chief operating officer of the advertising agency Zubi Advertising, with headquarters in Miami, the comedic devices used in “Rob” were too much. “They’ve used just about every stereotype they could in the pilot,” Mr. Zubizarreta said. “I understand that the general market taste will find humor in the idiosyncrasies of Hispanics. But as Hispanics, when we watch general market television, we’d like to see some semblance of reality to our lives.”

For Julio Ricardo Varela, the founder of the Web site Latino Rebels, both the content of “Rob” and how it was marketed relied too much on stereotypes.

“ ‘Rob’ was a big running joke among our community,” Mr. Varela said. “It just felt lazy, stale and I think that mainstream television is missing the boat.” Mr. Varela noted a contest on the show’s Facebook page where viewers were invited to hit a virtual piñata to “whack and win” a trip to the show’s set. Also on the page were promotional images of Mr. Schneider and the rest of the cast in a conga line. “I thought the marketing was beyond ridiculous,” Mr. Varela said.

Nina Tassler, the president for entertainment for CBS, declined to comment on “Rob” specifically, but said that reaching out to the Hispanic community was important for the network. (The network declined to pick up “Rob” for a second season.)

“Everybody’s culture is wholly unique, so finding the storytelling language that can reach out and communicate with the biggest cross section of the Latin population is obviously what we are trying for,” said Ms. Tassler, who is the highest-ranking network television executive with a Hispanic heritage.

Here's Nina Tassler's background from Wikipedia.

Mr. Schneider declined to comment for this article.

Schneider is part Filipino. I've always found him funnier than his friend Adam Sandler, although perhaps that's not saying much.

Among the series that were in development for next season by English-language networks, one, an ABC show called “Devious Maids,” gained attention for its focus on a Latino stereotype — maids working in Beverly Hills. The show was being produced by Marc Cherry of “Desperate Housewives,” and had been based on a Spanish-language telenovela.

When Liz Colunga, a 31-year-old Mexican-American documentary filmmaker heard about “Devious Maids” she wasn’t surprised at the show’s theme. “I’m used to watching stereotypical roles for Latinas and Latinos,” Ms. Colunga said.

No character stirs more mixed emotions for Hispanic audiences that the one played by Ms. Vergara on “Modern Family.” She plays Gloria Delgado-Pritchett, a sexy Latina trophy wife whose persona has gotten mixed reviews from Latinos.

“It’s working for her, but at what expense?” said Ms. Colunga, the filmmaker. “She’s playing the clueless Latina.”

In a show where all of the characters are a bit extreme, the least stereotypical of all is Gloria’s smart-talking son Manny. Lynnette Ramirez, the senior vice president for development and production at Encanto Enterprises, a production company owned by George and Ann Lopez, said Gloria’s character works because she is tempered by her son.

“Sofia’s character is a first generation Latina,” Ms. Ramirez said. “Manny’s going to grow up to be like Sara Ramirez’s character in ‘Grey’s Anatomy,’ ” she added, a reference to the actress Sara Ramirez’s role as a doctor on the show.

Judging by who likes summer blockbuster movies the most, perhaps Modern Family could broaden their demographic appeal by adding a couple of fireball explosions to each episode.

Woman Who Bragged About Brazilian Vagina Wax, Orgasms Now Headlining Obama Women’s Campaign

Here is an interesting article from  http://www.debbieschlussel.com/ about Eva Longoria as Barack Obama's advisor. This follows this post about graduation in NYC.  This follows this post about some of the music that was poplular during 2011. This follows THIS POST about some movies that have been released over the past few years that you might have missed! This all follows this post about guidelines to chosing good movies to watch yourself!

Woman Who Bragged About Brazilian Vagina Wax, Orgasms Now Headlining Obama Women’s Campaign

By Debbie Schlussel

I’m no fan of faux conservative Mitt Romnesty, but at least he isn’t resorting to hiring this embarrassing chick to head up his campaign targeting women, as Barack Obama is. Eva Longoria spent a great deal of time informing the world about how she gets Brazilian bikini waxes and when she had her first orgasm, and now she’s officially a part of Obama-Biden ’12, telling women why they should vote for Obama at various campaign women’s forums. Maybe Obama should call this, “Obama TMI-Time for Women.” USA Today says that by using Longoria, Obama is targeting women “where they live.” Do they live in their vaginas? Just askin’. But, hey, this is what we get in the “50 Shades of Grey”/”Magic Mike” era of women as pigs and pervs. I’ll take Ann Romney, stay at home mom who battles MS, any day over these disgusting “Desperate Housewife” whores enlisted by Obama. Even more ridiculous: Longoria is going to be telling women about “paycheck fairness.” Huh? Doesn’t this chick get paid a gazillion dollars a year for the recently-canceled “Desperate Housewives” and its reruns on sundry cable channels? Doesn’t she make another mint for her L’Oreal cosmetic and haircare ads? Paycheck fairness???? Tell it to your mirror, chica. (She also, by the way, believes that America is “occupied” by us and is really Mexican territory.)

The Obama campaign, in a major effort to galvanize female voters, will launch a series of interactive summit meetings in key swing states this summer.

The Women Vote 2012 Summits will allow women “to hear directly from senior campaign officials and leaders about issues that are important to them and the different visions that President Obama and Mitt Romney have for women and their families,” the campaign said in a statement.

The campaign panel features Valerie Jarrett, a Democratic strategist appearing in a personal capacity; Kate Chapek, the national women’s vote director for the campaign; and actress Eva Longoria. Issues on the summit agendas will include paycheck fairness, health care (including birth control), abortion rights and education.

The voter summits are part of the Obama campaign’s Operation Vote program, which works to boost turnout among what the campaign calls “our core demographic groups.”

The first event is July 1 in Denver. Colorado is one of several states where the women’s vote could be decisive. Summits are planned in other key states as well, including Pennsylvania (with an event in Philadelphia), Florida (Miami) and Nevada (Las Vegas).

Hmmm, I wonder if she’ll display any of her typical classiness on “women’s issues” at the Obama forums:

Eva Longoria says her Brazilian wax boosts her sex life.

The ‘Desperate Housewives’ beauty, who is dating basketball star Tony Parker [DS: who since cheated on and divorced her], claims the extreme bikini wax is worth the pain – because it improves her prowess in the bedroom.

She revealed to America’s Cosmopolitan magazine: “It makes sex better.

“Believe me, the first time I did it, the technician did half, and I was like ‘Stop!’ She said, ‘Sit down, I have to finish.’ But then it gets easier. The more you do it, the less hair grows back. But yeah, I love it. I swear by it.

“Every woman should try a Brazilian wax once. And then the sex they have afterward will make them keep coming back.”

Eva, who plays cheating Gabrielle Solis in the hit show, recently confessed she didn’t have an orgasm until she was 26.

The 30-year-old beauty revealed: “I didn’t have my first one until I was twenty-six.

Yup, meet Obama’s new women’s healthcare guru-ette. There seems to be no shortage of super-skanks recruited to pimp women on the (non-existent) virtues of Obama.

And don’t forget that this idiot, Longoria, is also a big advocate for illegal aliens (which became part of her storyline in “Desperate Housewives”) and Marxist Chicano Studies which, again, says America is “occupied Chicano territory.”

Brazilian Waxee America-Haters for Obama. Only in America.

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES’ Eva Longoria And The Failure Of Mexican Assimilation

Here is an interesting article from www.Vdare.com about Eva Longoria. This follows this post about the "War on Women." This follows this post about some of the music that was poplular during 2011. This follows THIS POST about some movies that have been released over the past few years that you might have missed! This all follows this post about guidelines to chosing good movies to watch yourself!

Memo From Middle America

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES’ Eva Longoria And The Failure Of Mexican Assimilation

http://www.vdare.com/articles/memo-from-middle-america-desperate-housewives-eva-longoria-and-the-failure-of-mexican-assim

Contemporary American society is celebrity-obsessed, and celebrities are rich, famous and influential. One of those celebrities is Eva Longoria.

Eva Longoria was born in Texas in 1975, of Mexican ancestry. Her first big role was in the soap opera The Young and the Restless (2001-2003). She achieved her biggest acting role as Gabrielle Solis in Desperate Housewives, which ran from 2004 to 2012.

Aside from her matchless thespian talent, Miss Longoria is a model who has appeared on the covers of magazines and has been featured in advertising campaigns by L’Oreal, Bebe Sport, Hanes, New York & Co., Magnum Ice Cream, Heineken, Microsoft and London Fog. She has received numerous accolades, having been listed in the “Most Beautiful People” list by People en Español, as #1 in Maxim’s Hottest Female Stars of 2005 and 2006, #9 in Maxim’s Hot 100 2007 list, #14 on People’s Most Beautiful List of 2011, and in the 2012 People list Most Beautiful at Every Age.

She was a judge on Next Food Network Star and hostess of the 2010 MTV Europe Music Awards.

Eva Longoria has made a lot of money. She was #1 on Forbes magazine’s list of highest-paid TV actresses of 2011, pulling in 13 million dollars last year.

She has her own perfume “EVA by Eva Longoria” and she’s published her own cookbook.

The celebrity marriage/divorce is also a staple of the celebrity lifestyle, and Eva’s been part of two of those: the first with Tyler Christopher of General Hospital (2002-2004); the second with Tony Parker of the San Antonio Spurs (2007 to 2011). The rights to publicize her Paris wedding to Parker had been marketed to OK! magazine.

On the rebound from her marriage to Tony Parker (get the pun?), she has dated Spanish actress Penelope Cruz’s little brother Eduardo.

So Eva Longoria is a big celebrity, in our celebrity-crazed society. She’s rich, successful, popular and comfortable.

She is also a full-fledged leftist Raza promoter. For several years, she has worked for the activist organization known as the National Council of La Raza. (For more on that outfit, see my article Yes, La Raza Really Does Mean “The Race” – And the Idea Was Invented By A Nazi Sympathizer

Unlike most Americans, Eva Longoria doesn’t want illegal aliens deported. She has agitated for more Spanish translators in hospitals

Of course Eva is for the DREAM Act. And, again unlike most Americans, she opposes Arizona’s SB 1070.

In fact, she teamed up with MALDEF (Mexican-American Legal Defense and Education Fund) to oppose the Arizona law. Not only that, but Eva Longoria has also determined that the law is unconstitutional:

When Arizona adopted SB 1070 ….Eva Longoria announced the bill was unconstitutional. With MALDEF’s (Mexican American Legal Defense Fund) Executive Director Thomas A. Saenz, she briefed Hollywood professionals on the bill and its implications.

Celebrity Politics: Eva Longoria and Immigration, by David S. Meyer, Politics Outdoors, May 17th, 2011).

Isn’t it great to know that a wealthy model/TV actress can now lecture us on what’s constitutional or not?

In 2009, Eva enrolled in a master’s program in the Department of Chicana and Chicano Studies of California State University (Northridge).

Several months ago, Eva was named as a national co-chair of the Obama Re-election campaign (There are actually 35 co-chairs—another is unrepentant MECHista and LA mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. Obama taps Villaraigosa, Longoria, others to co-chair campaign. LA Times, Feb. 22nd, 2012)

Check out this clip of liberal commentator/comedian Bill Maher interviewing Eva. Bill Maher is asking her about “your people” (which doesn’t mean Americans in general—just Hispanics). Maher gets into the friction between Cuban-Americans and Mexican-Americans, and in order to explain it, Eva claims that “Mexicans were occupied”. She’s probably talking about the fact that what is now the U.S. Southwest passed from Mexican to U.S. sovereignty a century and a half ago. Actually though, the vast majority of today’s Mexican-Americans are descendents of recent immigrants, and are not descended from the Mexican citizens who were here when the U.S. took control in the mid-1800s.

(For a pro-American perspective on this issue, check out my article On Guadalupe Hidalgo Day, Here’s Why The U.S. Has Title To The Southwest).

Eva also considers herself an agricultural expert. She informed Maher’s audience that U.S. agriculture is “wholly dependent on immigration”. “Wholly dependent”? In 1995, Mark Krikorian pointed out that "farmers and hired workers who are American citizens do almost 80 percent of the nation's farm work" and that even where immigrant pickers dominate, labor costs only make up ten percent of the retail price of your strawberries.

What’s interesting is that in many ways, Eva Longoria is from an assimilated family. English, not Spanish is her native language. She has learned Spanish, and can communicate in the language but is still not comfortable speaking it.

The Longoria family came from a village called Llongoria in Asturias, northern Spain. (Some of my wife’s forebears also came from Asturias). They arrived in New Spain—pre-independence Mexico—in 1603, and in 1767 an ancestor received a land grant along the Rio Grande from the king of Spain. That means that at least some of her ancestors were in Texas when it changed sovereignty from Mexico to the Republic of Texas to the U.S.

And Eva is also of mostly white ancestry. Eva’s ancestry was researched for the PBS Faces of America show, hosted by Harvard’s Professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr. They did a DNA test on her, and she was shocked and disappointed to find herself to be of mostly European ancestry (albeit with 27% Asian/ Indigenous, specifically Mayan ancestry; and 3% African).

Miss Longoria lamented:

I was like “I'm a proud Mexican-American.” I swear I was an Aztec princess in a past life, and then I do the blood test and I'm 75 per cent Spaniard. It totally screwed me up. Obviously there's a mixture of indigenous people and Spaniards because of the conquests, but I thought I was mostly Mexican... I'm Mayan! I thought I was Aztec this whole time... But I do think I was a Mayan princess now.

[Eva Longoria Shocked by DNA Test, Press Trust of India, April 04, 2010]

So what’s the big deal here? Another leftist Hollywood actress. So what else is new?

Well, here’s the National Question aspect: Eva Longoria was born in the U.S. Her native language is English. She is popular, rich and successful. She’s a millionaire.

And yet, and yet—for some reason, at some level, she doesn’t identify with this country. She doesn’t identify with the historical American nation—seeing “her people” as being “occupied”.

This indicates to me that the failure of Hispanics to assimilate is more than an economic issue, it’s more than a linguistic issue, it’s more than a racial issue—although it includes all these factors. There is some emotional issue involved.

Very assimilated Americans of Mexican ancestry have a distinct tendency suddenly to start indentifying as Mexicans.

Like U.S.-born New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez, who said he “never thought much about being Mexican” while growing up—then suddenly announces at a press conference that “I am 100% Mexican.

Then there is actress Jessica Alba, of Mexican ancestry on her father’s side, who didn’t identify as Hispanic until recently. Now she’s on the bandwagon, bashing SB 1070.

Or U.S. boxer Oscar de la Hoya, who took out Mexican citizenship after becoming famous, boasting that “To be a Mexican citizen is something that I have always wanted to be.”

Or U.S.-born /trained astronaut Jose Hernandez, who identified as a Mexican and took a Mexican flag to space on an American rocket.

And of course, here’s Eva Longoria, whose fame and wealth, derived from tawdry TV shows, apparently gives her the right to defend Mexicans who invade our country illegally.

Is there a pattern here? We’re talking about successful Mexican-Americans, including celebrities who make more money than most of us ever will—about English-speaking American citizens who have received a lot from this country. Yet, after they’re famous, they insist on identifying as Mexicans and even agitate against the interests of the United States in the area of immigration.

Is it wrong to notice this? Is it wrong to point this out?

What does it tell us about the assimilation of millions of Mexican immigrants who weren’t born in this country, when we see successful U.S.-born Mexican-Americans who nevertheless identify so strongly with La Raza?

Memo From Mexico, By Allan Wall
On Guadalupe Hidalgo Day, Here's Why The U.S. Has Title To The Southwest

http://www.vdare.com/articles/memo-from-mexico-by-allan-wall-24

By Allan Wall
The Second Annual "National March for Immigrant Rights" is scheduled to be held on the U.S.-Mexico border on February 2nd.

Last year, the march was also held on February 2nd.

What's going on here? Why February 2nd?

Answer: February 2nd is the anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. That 1848 treaty officially ended the Mexican War and legally turned over most of the Southwest to the United States.

The average American doesn't know much about the Mexican War and thinks about it less.

But here in Mexico they do think about it—a lot.

In Mexico, everybody knows that "the U.S. took half our national territory."

"La Intervención Norteamericana" has been described—by Mexican writer and Nobel laureate Octavio Paz—as "one of the most unjust wars of conquest in history."

Not only that, but the loss of Mexico's northern territories has been used as a reason—an excuse, really—for the economic failures of Mexico compared to the economic success of the United States.

According to at least one poll, conducted in 2002 by Zogby in Mexico, 58% of respondents agreed with the statement that "the territory of the United States' Southwest rightfully belongs to Mexico". [MS Word] Now that's definitely a different perspective.

In a lighter vein, some Mexicans jokingly quip that, when the U.S. took half of Mexico's territory, we took the half with the paved roads.

Some Americans are shocked to learn that Mexicans actually have a different historical perspective than we do.

How dare Mexicans say the U.S. took the Southwest from Mexico? How dare they have a different perspective than us?

It's time for a reality check. Different nations have different historical perspectives on the same historical events. That's one reason they are different nations.

Of course Mexicans say that the U.S. took (or even "stole") the Southwest! Why wouldn't they?

We've got to get over this naïve belief that everybody in the world has the same values, and that everybody wants to be just like us.

Maybe we should have thought twice about importing millions of people from the only country on earth with an irredentist claim against us—and then encouraging them not to assimilate!

It's not that the facts of the war are in dispute. A Mexican historical text and an American historical text provide the same facts about the war. It's just that the "spin" is different. (And nowadays, some of the American treatments of the war are more critical of the war than the Mexican ones.)

Even some of the arguments used on our side are a little lame.

Some try to prove the territory wasn't conquered. After all, we did pay $15 million dollars for it.

True, but that makes it sound like a garden variety real estate deal. Mexico was soundly defeated, and as defeated nations throughout history, had to abide by the terms of defeat.

It was a conquest. And historically there's nothing unique about that. Just about every country in the world was formed by some type of conquest and just about all the real estate in the world has been conquered and re-conquered, some of it quite a few times.

That includes Mexico. The contemporary conventional Mexican view is that the evil Spaniards conquered Mexico. But when Hernan Cortes arrived in 1519, the present-day country of Mexico did not exist. The Aztec Empire (itself a product of conquest) only covered about a quarter of present-day Mexico. After the Spaniards conquered that empire, they went on conquering numerous other indigenous entities, including the Tarascan Empire, enemy of the Aztec Empire, thus assembling the enormous colony of "Nueva España", which was renamed Mexico after independence. Furthermore, throughout the history of independent Mexico, the government has repeatedly used force to subdue rebellious tribes and areas and keep them in Mexico. So yes, Mexico was formed by conquest as well.

Nor is invading a neighbor country at all rare. In fact, it's the most common form of international invasion there is.

And supposing the Mexican War hadn't started in 1846, it's quite probable Mexico would have lost the territories anyway.

The region in question was far from the heartland of Mexico, and sparsely settled. Neither the Spanish Empire nor the independent Mexico which succeeded it did much to develop the area, which was prone to frequent anti-government uprisings.

In the 1840s, there was speculation that the British, the French or the Russians might take try to take it.

But the most likely possibility would have been that growing communities of unassimilated American settlers would have revolted, seceded from Mexico, and joined the U.S.

It was the Texas dispute that provoked the Mexican War. Americans had settled in Texas, they didn't assimilate, they became the majority, and seceded from Mexico in 1836.

That was not the first time that Mexico lost territory. Upon independence in 1821, Central America had been part of Mexico, but Mexico lost that territory in the 1820s. Funny, I never hear about a Mexican "reconquista" of Central America.

The Republic of Texas was independent from 1836 to 1845, during which time it was diplomatically recognized by the U.S., France, Britain, Holland and Belgium, and Mexico was unable to get it back.

After Texas joined the Union in 1845, the dispute erupted again. Both countries sent troops into the disputed territory between the Rio Grande (which Texas said was the border) and the Nueces River (which Mexico said was the border). In April 1846, the two armies clashed in the Thornton Skirmish, followed by several battles in May of 1846, after which President Polk asked for and received a declaration of war from Congress. Three months later the Mexican Congress reciprocated.

Nowadays, of course, the war is seen as the attack of a strong U.S.A. upon a weak and peaceful Mexico.

But at the time, both countries were about equally hawkish and ready for war. Mexico had a larger full-time military (27,000 Mexican men under arms vs. a U.S. Army of about 7,000 soldiers—a number which soon swelled when volunteers flocked to join).

Nowadays, the idea of conquest is very unPC. But in 1846, neither the U.S. nor Mexico was against the idea of conquest in principle. It's just that each country wanted to be the conqueror and not the conquered.

Mexico's government planned an invasion of the U.S., predicting that as Mexico invaded, the slaves would revolt and the Mexican flag would fly over the U.S. capitol in Washington. The Mexican government planned to annex parts of the United States, in the Louisiana/Alabama region. What a plan!

But they didn't have the chance to do all that, because the U.S. Army invaded Mexico first. (Maps are available here and here.)

Brigadier General Zachary Taylor ("Old Rough and Ready") invaded and occupied part of northeastern Mexico, including the city of Monterrey, which fell after a fierce battle involving house-to-house combat, in September of 1846. After the battle of Buena Vista (February of 1847), conventional war in that theater was over, though there were guerrilla attacks against U.S. forces.

In another prong of the invasion, Colonel Stephen Kearny marched west from Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, taking Santa Fe and arriving in California. There Kearney linked up with Captain John C. Fremont and some of those unassimilated American settlers who had already declared independence from Mexico. On July 7th, 1846, the Navy landed and did its part. By February of 1847 fighting in this theater was over.

Mexico had still refused to surrender. So President Polk sent an invasion force to take Mexico City. This expeditionary force, under the command of General Winfield Scott ("Old Fuss and Feathers") landed at Veracruz, on Mexico's Gulf Coast, and carried out the largest American amphibious landing up to that time.

Veracruz was taken in March 1847. Then the U.S. Army fought its way inland to Mexico City, taking the same route [Map] as Hernan Cortes in 1519.

Among the soldiers who fought under General Scott was a member of the Indiana Volunteers by the name of Robert Wall—my first cousin 4 times removed, the first member of my family to go to Mexico. After returning to Indiana, for the rest of his life my kinsman was known as "Mexican Bob". Mexican Bob had two cousins also named Robert Wall— a funny cousin known as "Monkey Bob" and a feisty one known as "Spunky Bob". Spunky Bob was my great-great-grandfather.

With the fall of Mexico City in September of 1847, major combat operations were over, although in both Taylor's and Scott's occupation zones, there were continued enemy attacks on U.S. supply convoys—just as in Iraq today.

Why did the American army defeat the Mexican army?

The American army, composed 100% of men who had volunteered, was better trained and better equipped, had its own supply convoys and medical personnel to care for the wounded. The U.S. Army's artillery was a decisive factor— each cannon's crew was overseen by a seasoned NCO known as "chief of the piece." (See illustration here.)

The Mexican army was mostly composed of draftees, had Napoleonic-era weapons, and sometimes left its wounded behind, not a great morale inducer. The classic Mexican history work México Á Través De Los Siglos points out that, though the Mexican soldiers in the rank and file were brave,

"…the mutual confidence between the leaders and officers did not exist, the weaponry was old and defective, the artillery was small and of short range, the cavalry was mostly useless, the movements were slow and heavy, and finally, ambulances and supplies of provisions and everything necessary for the good service of an army on campaign were lacking."(México Á Través De Los Siglos Vicente Riva Palacio, 1880).

Mexico's loss was also due to internal disunity. In the face of the American invasion, Mexico's leaders did not form a government of national unity and work together to defend their country.

Instead, Mexican leaders often seemed more concerned with maneuvering against each other than against the enemy. In December of 1845, with war imminent, General Mariano Paredes was sent north with an army to face off against the Americans. But on the way, he changed his mind and decided instead to return to Mexico City and overthrow the government.

That's how the more hawkish Paredes became president, replacing Jose Joaquin de Herrera, who was willing to compromise on the Texas issue. In August of 1846, Paredes himself was deposed by Mariano Salas. The presidency actually changed hands four times that year and by March of 1847, Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna was in charge of both the government and the military. He resigned after the Mexico City defeat of 1847.

Also during the war, the Mexicans had an internecine dispute about church property, an attempt to install a Spanish monarch, and about 35 uprisings throughout the country. Some Mexican communities didn't support the war effort, and had no qualms about trading with the American enemy. Others were simply indifferent and stayed out of it.

The Yucatan Peninsula, which had been independent from 1841-1843, declared independence again on January 1st, 1846 and announced its neutrality during the Mexican War. But the indigenous Maya revolted against Yucatan's white elite in the "Caste War", which broke out in 1847. The whites were forced to retreat into the walled cities of Merida and Campeche in 1848. After the U.S. withdrew from Mexico, Yucatan's leaders rejoined Mexico. It began a long drawn out reconquest of the Maya territory which didn't end until 1901.

The Mexican War had its contemporary American critics, mostly among the Whig party. Critics of the war included former president John Quincy Adams, John C. Calhoun, Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau who spent a night in jail because he refused to pay a $1 tax in protest.

Abraham Lincoln opposed the use of the Thornton Skirmish as justification for the war, although he still voted for funds to supply the U.S. Army in Mexico, and later supported Zachary Taylor's presidential campaign.

Among the 200 junior officers in the war who wound up being generals (Union and Confederate) in the Civil War, was future president Ulysses S. Grant, who at some point in his life decided that the war was evil.

But whatever Lincoln and Grant thought about the Mexican War, as president, neither man offered to give the conquered territories back to Mexico.

When Mexican leaders signed the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo in 1848, they were almost out of money and the country was on the verge of a revolution. American troops had defeated the Mexican army, were occupying strategic parts of the country, and negotiator Nicholas Trist made clear that without a transfer of the territories, there would be no treaty. So the Mexican leaders decided to sign the treaty to avoid greater losses. It was signed on February 2nd, 1848 and ratified by both congresses several months later. The U.S. Army withdrew from all the territory it was occupying except the newly-annexed territories.

In the treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, the U.S. gained nearly all the Southwest,—all of California, Nevada and Utah, and parts of Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico and Wyoming. (The area south of the Gila River in the present-day states of Arizona and New Mexico, was purchased from Mexico in the Gadsden Treaty of 1853.)

So the Southwest is part of the U.S. and has been for over 150 years, longer than most present-day national states have been in existence.

Even the Mexican Constitution doesn't claim the Southwest! That's right. The Mexican Constitution, in articles 42—48 [Word Document] spells out the extent of Mexican territory. It mentions Mexican islands, continental shelf, and airspace, Mexico's 31 states and federal district, but it never mentions California, Texas or Arizona.

So take that, you reconquistas!

When reflecting upon the Mexican War, some Americans ask why we didn't just annex the whole country. And there were actually people in favor of that—the "All Mexico" movement. But there were several reasons that didn't happen.

One was America's North-South divide, especially the congressional balance between free states and slave states, with northerners fearing that Mexico would be divided into slave states and thus upset the balance.

But John C. Calhoun and others opposed annexing Mexico for National Question reasons.

In 1848, the U.S. population was about 21 million, and the population of Mexico about 7 million, a third of ours. How well could we have assimilated 7 million Mexicans, with all the racial, cultural, social, nationalistic differences that would have been involved? Annexing Mexico would have changed the character of our nation.

Ironically, today's leaders have no such qualms. Today our leaders apparently see no problem in merging us with Mexico, despite the differences between our societies.

They are merging our countries on several levels. At one level is the mass migration of Mexicans into the U.S. coupled with a multicultural ideology which encourages non-assimilation and retention of their Mexican identity. At another level, inter-governmental agreements are moving us closer to some sort of North American Union.

It's a century and a half after Guadalupe Hidalgo. Who will be the winners in this century?

Will it be the U.S.A., Mexico—or a transnational elite, for whom all the residents of our continent are just interchangeable pieces in a vast market?

The next few years will give us the answer.

Push Boehner to allow E-Verify vote‏

An urgent post from http://www.numbersusa.com/ attempting to get the GOP congress to pass a basic immigration enforcement bill. This follows this post analyzing Newt Gingrich's immigration proposal. This follows this post about the Presidential Candidate strongest on immigration.  This follows this post  about Louisiana suing about the appropriations of House Seats and the Electoral College(think about redistricting in your state)!   This follows this post about how to Report Illegal Immigrants such as the 30,000 openly illegal immigrants in the border town of El Paso, where President Barack Obama recently bashed immigration enforcement! For more that you can do to get involved click HERE and you can read a very interesting book HERE!

And Remember when contacting public officials to please be firm but respectful. Any over the top messages could result in law enforcement action against you. Just let these politicians know that you are aware of what they have done and that you intend to remove them from office in the 2012 elections.

Your state's Repubs should push Boehner to allow E-Verify vote‏

HOW LONG WILL YOUR REPUBLICAN CONGRESSMEN ALLOW SPEAKER BOEHNER TO DILLY-DALLY ON THE E-VERIFY BILL?

Boehner told all the Republican Members of the U.S House on Friday that they need to focus on jobs, jobs, jobs . . .

. . . so why isn't he bringing the Legal Workforce Act (H.R. 2885) to the floor for a vote so millions of illegal aliens will have to leave their jobs and be replaced by unemployed Americans?

Congressmen have told us about Friday's closed-door meeting of the House Republicans.

The hypocrisy was thick as Speaker Boehner again admonished Republican Members to keep their focus on nothing but jobs, even as he is now in his 12th month in power without doing a single thing about the 7 million illegal aliens who are keeping unemployed Americans from getting a job.

ACTION: FAX -- Please click on the link below and send a free fax to urge your state's Republican U.S. Representatives to tell Boehner it is time to follow his own advice and move H.R 2885 to put millions of Americans back to work.

www.numbersusa.com/faxes?ID=13652

Republicans from your state helped put Boehner in power. But Boehner has used his power to do nothing to help the millions of unemployed Americans -- mostly lower skilled and lower educated -- who are waiting in line for jobs in construction, manufacturing, service and transportation currently held by illegal aliens.

H.R. 2885 would easily pass the House if Boehner would allow it to come up for a vote. It has already passed the House Judiciary Committee. It is time for your state's Republican Representatives to ask Boehner when he is going to start doing something about jobs and bring H.R. 2885 to the floor for a vote.
