Wendy Davis Slams New Texas Law Making Abortion Clinics Bury Aborted Babies Instead of Selling Them

Wendy Davis loves abortion. In fact she must love abortion so much that she is slamming a new Texas law making abortion clinics provide proper burials for aborted babies instead of selling their body parts for profit.

New Texas rules requiring a dignified burial of aborted babies’ bodies will go into effect on Dec. 19, state health officials said this week.
The new rules, introduced in July by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, require that abortion facilities, hospitals and other medical centers either cremate or bury the remains of aborted and miscarried babies. State officials said the rules do not apply to miscarriages or abortions that take place at home.

But Wendy Davis is not happy.

Davis, the former Texas state senator and former gubernatorial candidate whose 13-hour filibuster of the Texas abortion bill garnered national attention in 2013, told ATTN: via email:
“Once again, Governor Abbott and his political appointees are demonstrating a greater interest in scoring cheap political points than they are in governing in the best interests of the state. This rule will no doubt create an undue burden on women seeking abortion in our state, yet another thinly veiled attempt to assert a ‘legitimate state interest’ when the real objective is closing off access to constitutionally protected abortion care.”

Never mid that the rules have nothing to do to access to abortion — they only concern what happens after the abortion has claimed the life of the baby.
John Seago, Legislative Director of Texas Right To Life, previously told LifeNews that the rules are strong attempt to restore the dignity to the victims of abortion. However, he noted that they are just one small step toward the ultimate goal of protecting unborn babies’ lives from abortion.
“Texas Right to Life is in favor of the proposed rules to clarify the manner in which abortion clinics handled the bodies of these victims of abortion,” Seago said. “However, Texas Right to Life strongly believes that the pro-life movement must go far beyond simply regulating the disposition and donation of these bodies after abortion. Texas must take positive steps to stop the horrific injustice of elective abortion instead of just regulating the aftermath.”

Gates Foundation Will Sink Another $120 Million Into Promoting Abortion and Population Control

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is funneling more money into global programs promoting population control and abortion after a group warned that international family planning goals are not being met.

The Gates Foundation promised to give an additional $120 million to Family Planning 2020 programs that support “the rights of women and girls to decide when and how many children they want to have,” the news website All Africa reported today.
“The announcement came in response to a new report which found that the global community risks falling short of its goal to reach an additional 120 million women and girls with access to contraceptives and family planning services by 2020,” according to the report.
Both Planned Parenthood and Marie Stopes International, two of the largest abortion businesses in the world, are partners in the global Family Planning 2020 initiative, according to a press release from the initiative.
The abortion chain Marie Stopes International also sent out a tweet yesterday celebrating the Gates Foundation’s large donation.
The Gates Foundation has faced criticism in the past for giving money to programs that support abortion.
In 2014, after Melinda Gates claimed her foundation will not fund abortions, LiveAction reported that the foundation gave huge donations to several abortion businesses.

According to the Gates Foundation grant database, the Foundation gave Planned Parenthood of America, the International Planned Parenthood Federation, and Planned Parenthood of Western Washington about $71 million from before 2009 through 2013. Additionally, the Gates Foundation gave $46.1 million to Marie Stopes International in 2012 alone.
Much of this giving is focused on Africa, Asia, and Latin America, where abortion-providers like Planned Parenthood, Marie Stopes, and Ipas seek to overturn pro-life laws and sometimes even provide illicit abortion drugs.

While Gates Foundation funds cannot be earmarked for abortion, the fungibility of money makes it easier for these organizations to provide abortion internationally.  In other words, every dollar the Gates Foundation gives to Planned Parenthood for distributing birth control or building an abortion-friendly clinic frees up a dollar in Planned Parenthood’s budget to spend elsewhere.

In 2012, Melinda Gates was criticized for promoting abortion and population control at an international meeting.
The same year, she was criticized for hosting a Family Planning Summit in London with two of the biggest pro-abortion groups in the world, the UN Population Fund and International Planned Parenthood Federation.

Leading pro-life organizations are re-launching a boycott of Girl Scout cookies after the Girl Scout group continued its abortion advocacy by honoring a radically pro-abortion Congresswoman.

The pro-life movement has been concerned for a number of years about the ties between the Girl Scouts and the Planned Parenthood abortion business. Although the Girl Scout organization maintains that it takes “no position” on the issue of abortion, parents, churches, and pro-life activists have long complained of the pro-abortion slant of the Girl Scouts’ resources, role models, and affiliations.
The Girl Scouts came under a boycott last year due to their extensive ties to the Planned Parenthood abortion business and for generally promoting pro-abortion politicians as role models for young girls. Now, the Girl Scouts are under fire for honoring a pro-abortion member of Congress credited with inventing the slam “war on women” to attack pro-life people as supposedly opposing women’s rights because they want to protect unborn children.

Two weeks ago the Girl Scouts honored Congresswoman Barbara Lee, who claims to have coined the phrase “war on women,” and angry moms and dads have once more launched a national boycott of Girl Scout cookies.
They are announcing the boycott just in time for National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend when cookie booths will be visible throughout the nation.

Called “CookieCott 2015,” organizers say the Girl Scouts have made no progress in distancing the organization from leftist politics, most especially from the issue of abortion.
Just a few weeks ago the Girl Scouts honored Congresswoman Barbara Lee. Though written in conjunction with Black History Month, organizers of the boycott say that does not matter given that Lee is such an ardent promoter of abortion rights. In fact, Lee takes credit for the phrase “war on women,” a meme used against conservatives attempting to defund Planned Parenthood, America’s largest abortion provider.
In their tribute to Lee, the Girl Scouts claimed she works “to protect and help the most vulnerable” and called her a “shining example of leadership.”
In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News, Christy Volanski, one of the boycott organizers, said, “I have to wonder if the Girls Scouts USA considers the preborn victims of abortion to be included in the ‘most vulnerable’ among us because Congresswoman Lee, an ardent abortion supporter, certainly does not protect the babies in the womb.”
Volanski pointed out that Lee voted in favor of partial birth abortion and N,ARAL Pro-Choice America gives her a 100% rating for supporting abortion legislation.

After a series of articles on the boycott and the Girl Scouts-Planned Parenthood link, that featured the Girl Scouts logo to identify the organization, Brian Crawford, an executive with Girl Scouts USA, wrote LifeNews a scathing letter attempting to intimidate us into stopping our reporting on their link and to no longer use their logo or image to identify them as we bring attention to their support for the nation’s biggest abortion business.

However, the links between the Girl Scouts and Planned Parenthood are longstanding, with a Girl Scouts CEO and individual troops admitting as much.
Fresh on the heels of Girl Scouts USA (GSUSA) sharing a recommendation for pro-abortion Texas gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis as a 2013 Woman of the Year via their official Twitter account, the organization suggested pro-abortion HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius as a woman “with courage, confidence, and character.”
Meanwhile, the new national spokeswoman for the Girl Scouts, Kelly Parisi, is the former spokeswoman for a pro-abortion organization — one founded by Gloria Steinem.
The Girl Scouts have been criticized for their involvement in the May, 2013 Women Deliver Conference, an international event that included “safe and legal abortion” among its overarching themes. It documents its role in the planning and facilitating of the December, 2012 Bali Global Youth Forum and the outcome declaration, which demands youth access to abortion.
The ties between the two groups have been questioned ever since former Girl Scouts CEO Kathy Cloninger admitted on NBC’s The Today Show: “We partner with many organizations. We have relationships with…Planned Parenthood organizations across the country.” See the video here.
Then, in a national survey, seventeen Girl Scouts councils admit to partnering with Planned Parenthood; many other councils refuse to answer the survey question. Of the 315 Girl Scout councils in the U.S., 17 councils reported having a relationship with Planned Parenthood and its affiliates, and 49 reported they do not. The other 249 refused to disclose any relationship.
In 2010-2011 Girls Scouts in New York partnered with Planned Parenthood for a sex-ed program, “Real Life. Real Talk.” The program website touts their partners (link has since been removed): “Real Life. Real Talk. is proud to count the following organizations, faith communities and companies as partners: …Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways.”
For fourteen years, the Girls Scouts in Waco, TX co-sponsored a sex ed conference with Planned Parenthood. “It’s Perfectly Normal” a book written by a Planned Parenthood executive was  given to all children in attendance says abortion can be “a positive experience.” And in January 2012, Girl Scouts employee Renise Rodriguez wore a “Pray to End Abortion” t-shirt during off-duty visit to her Tucson Girl Scout office and was ordered to her to turn the shirt inside out or leave.
As LifeNews reported in 2012, the Girl Scouts joined with Planned Parenthood to head a UN conference and LifeNews reported on the investigation the Catholic Church is undertaking into the ties between the Girl Scouts and Planned Parenthood and other pro-abortion groups.

Several Abortion Clinics Close After Court Enforces Texas Pro-Life Law

Two years ago, there were over 40 abortion facilities operating in Texas with very little oversight. Yesterday, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals issued a ruling that could result in the immediate closure of 13 abortion facilities, leaving only seven open by this weekend.
A spot-check conducted by Operation Rescue early Friday morning of several facilities that are in known non-compliance with the law shows that some have already shut down while others continue to operate.
The ruling blocks a stay issued by a lower court on enforcement of Texas’ HB2, which provides minimum safety standards for abortion businesses, until the State’s appeal of the lower court’s decision that the law is unconstitutional can be heard.
The ruling allowed the full law to be enforced immediately, including portions that were previously blocked by the lower court that pertained to the requirements that abortionists maintain hospital privileges within 30 miles of their abortion facilities and that those facilities meet Ambulatory Surgical Center standards.
“This is a huge victory and gives us every confidence that all the provisions of HB2 will prevail upon appeal,” said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue, who has coauthored the new book, Abortion Free, that outlines how to implement strategy to stop abortion, including those used in Texas will soon be responsible for closing 83% of all abortion centers in that state. Previous closures have already caused abortion numbers in Texas to plummet.
The reality is that abortion facilities operate well below accepted medical standards. They are known to cut corners on women’s health and safety in order to maximize profit. Since these business have been largely without oversight, they have been able to get away with subjecting women to unsafe conditions and practices for decades.

The Texas law ordered abortion facilities to upgrade to medical standards. Instead of cleaning up, they sued. Now, they must close.
“Abortion facilities that cannot ensure the most basic care, such as sanitary facilities, proper drug handling, adequately licensed staff, and hallways that can accommodate a gurney in the event of an emergency are just too dangerous to stay open,” said Newman. “The abortion cartel has worked overtime to try to spin the facts into saying safety rules pose a danger to women’s health. Their propaganda attempts would be laughable if the result of injured or infected women and dead babies wasn’t so tragic.”
In 2010, Operation Rescue conducted an undercover investigation of abortion facilities in Texas and found that violations of health codes, informed consent, waiting periods, and parental notification was rampant. Disturbingly, Operation Rescue discovered that Whole Women’s Health abortion mills in McAllen and Austin were illegally dumping recognizable remains of aborted babies in public dumpsters, which posed a hazard to the general public. They were cited for these violations and heavily fined.
In 2013, Operation Rescue released shocking information and photos obtained by four former employees of Houston abortionist Douglas Karpen, that were evidence that babies were being born alive only to have their heads twisted nearly off their bodies during illegally late abortions. A grand jury mysteriously failed to indict Karpen despite the gruesome photos taken by clinic workers depicting large babies that had been nearly beheaded.
Nevertheless, that evidence prompted Texas Gov. Rick Perry to call a special session of the legislature for the purpose of passing HB2. Today, Karpen is prevented from legally conducting abortions due to the implementation of that law. The Karpen evidence also contributed to the passage of Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Acts in several states as well as the U.S. House.
“Documenting and exposing abortion abuses can serve as the foundation for safety regulations that can shut down substandard abortion mills and save lives. As a result of yesterday’s ruling we expect thousands of women will be spared the trauma and tragedy of abortion and that precious baby boys and girls will grace their lives with blessings,” said Newman. “Protecting the lives of women and their babies is what our work is all about.”

Democrat Chair Won’t Apologize for Saying Pro-Life Governor Gives Women “The Back of His Hand”

The Democratic National Committee has refused to reprimand Debbie Wasserman Schultz or apologize for her outrageous comments about Scott Walker.
The chairwoman recently claimed that the governor of Wisconsin was giving women “the back of his hand” and “grabbing them by the hair” by promoting Republican policies. Pundits quickly criticized the chairwoman for likening Walker’s leadership to domestic violence abuse.
Reince Priebus, the Republican National Committee chairman, challenged Walker’s Democratic gubernatorial opponent, Mary Burke, on Twitter to distance herself from such callous comments. While he didn’t get a response from her, he did receive one from DNC Communications Director Mo Elleithee. Based on his crass answer, it seems the DNC is telling him to “talk to the hand.”




Leave it to the DNC to try and overshadow Wasserman Schultz’s comments by recycling the old “GOP is waging a war on women” claim.
The RNC responded to Elleithee’s rude retort:

The DNC and Debbie Wasserman Schultz should apologize for DWS’s callous comments. But instead of doing the right thing by admitting they were wrong they are busy trying to score political points. Just see the DNC Communications Director’s, Mo Elleithee, response to Priebus. This is bigger than politics, and politicians should not use domestic violence to launch attacks—it is rude to survivors of domestic abuse and to all those who believe being pro-life is not being anti women.

There is no excuse for Wasserman Schultz’s offensive claims. To try and appease her critics, she weakly proclaimed, “I shouldn’t have used those words.” We’re all waiting for a real apology.

Greg Abbott Files Emergency Request to Uphold Pro-Life Texas Law Closing Abortion Clinics

Late Sunday night, Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott filed an emergency request with a federal appeals court to uphold a pro-life law credited with closing multiple abortion clinics and cutting abortions 13 percent, saving an estimated 9,900 babies from abortion.
The legislation, House Bill 2 (HB2), requires abortion facilities to meet the same safety standards of other Ambulatory Surgical Centers in the state, ensures that abortionists have admitting privileges at a local hospital, and bans painful late abortions on fully formed babies.
The admitting privileges portion of the law was the portion responsible for closing abortion clinics and, because so many shut down or stopped doing abortions, Judge Lee Yeakel claimed that constituted an undue burden on women.
“The ambulatory-surgical-center requirement is unconstitutional because it imposes an undue burden on the right of women throughout Texas to seek a previability abortion,” Yeakel ruled.
AP reported that Yeakel also ordered the McAllen and El Paso areas to be exempted from a separate provision of the law requiring abortion doctors to obtain admitting privileges at a nearby hospital bhecause few abortion clinics are in that area and women would have to drive far to get to another one.
Planned Parenthood did not challenge the law’s prohibition on abortions that take place at 20 weeks or later, a provision based on evidence that demonstrates the baby can feel pain at that stage. Pro-life Texas Gov. Rick Perry signed the omnibus HB 2 bill into law in July 2013.
Abbott criticized Yeakel in his motion to the appellate court, saying the district judge “failed even to mention (much less follow) precedent” from the appellate court and U.S. Supreme Court. Abbott asked for a response from the appeals court by Friday and he said he thinks it will overturn the judge’s decision.
In fact, in March, the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals issued a ruling upholding the Texas law Wendy Davis opposed that was responsible for closing abortion clinics in the Lone Star State. The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals overturned Judge Lee Yeakel of the Western District Court in Austin and restored key portions of a pro-life law.
In their decision, the appeals court upheld sections of the law that require abortionists hold admitting privileges at a nearby hospital, and that the dangerous RU-486 abortion drug be administered according to FDA procedure.
The judges wrote, “The district court held that parts of both provisions were unconstitutional and granted, in substantial part, the requested injunctive relief.  A motions panel of this court granted a stay pending appeal, and the Supreme Court upheld the stay.  We conclude that both of the challenged provisions are constitutional and, therefore, reverse and render judgment, with one exception, for the State.”
Abortion clinics appealed that decision to the Supreme Court and Justice Scalia issued a ruling saying the high court would not stop the law while the case continued.
That kicked the lawsuit abortion advocates filed against the law back to Judge Yeakel, who ruled today on the admitting privileges portion of the law and blocked it from going into effect as planned next week.
Although pro-life advocates hailed the law as a decision for women’s health, by ensuring abortion practitioner hold the same admitting privileges at local hospitals as legitimate doctors do, that shut down or temporarily closed abortion doctors who could not meet that standard.
Had the law been upheld, abortion activists feared Texas may have only seven abortion clinics instead of 19.
When the panel reviewed the bill, they found that the state acted within its prerogative to regulate the medical profession by heeding these patient-centered concerns and requiring abortion practitioners to obtain admitting privileges at a nearby hospital. The state also found that it would be safer for patients to drive further to receive an abortion at a surgical facility with a credentialed and privileged physician than to seek an abortion at a nearby, substandard clinic. The bottom line is women deserve better than substandard care.
Additionally the opinion written by Judge Edith Jones explained why admitting privileges are necessary. She said, “Requiring abortion providers to have admitting privileges would also promote the continuity of care in all cases, reducing the risk of injury caused by miscommunication and misdiagnosis when a patient is transferred from one health care provider to another.”
Judge Jones also noted that Planned Parenthood conceded that at least 210 women in Texas annually must be hospitalized after seeking an abortion.
Abortion is not a safe medical procedure.
Although abortion proponents argue that having an abortion is like having a tooth extracted, forty-two years of choice has not served women well. From botched abortions and injured women, to decades of psychological pain, infertility, and higher chances of developing breast cancer, women deserve to know the truth about the so-called “five-minute, painless” abortion.
This legislation acknowledges the fact that abortion hurts women and mandates that the state implements measures to ensure that women are given the highest standard of care possible. This is especially necessary in scenarios where women experience complications from abortion, such as hemorrhage, uterine perforation, or infection from an incomplete abortion. In the past, the delay in care has caused women unnecessary trauma, injury, and even death.
For example, a Chicago woman died at a Planned Parenthood facility after a botched second trimester abortion because she did not receive immediate care after an abortionist perforated her uterus.

Why are Pro-Abortion Groups Rebranding? They’re Losing With Young People

The New York Times ran an interesting article last week about how supporters of legal abortion are backing away from the label “pro-choice.” But supporters of legal abortion redefining themselves is nothing new: The group NARAL started in the late 1960s as the National Association to Repeal the Abortion Laws. Later, they became the National Abortion Rights Action League.
Later still, they became the National Abortion Rights and Reproductive Rights Action League. The most interesting name shift, however, occurred in 2003, when NARAL evidently decided that abortion was playing too prominent a role in its name and they became “NARAL: Pro-Choice America.”
Apparently now even the term “pro-choice” has fallen out of favor.
The New York Times article is consistent with my own observations. As a college professor, I have noticed that campus groups supportive of legal abortion now use the term “reproductive justice” instead of “pro-choice.” I’ve also noticed that supporters of legal abortion are having a difficult time engaging the current generation of young adults. A recent Rasmussen poll confirms that impression, finding that voters under 40 were less likely than other age demographics to find the abortion issue “very important” while voting and more likely to find the issue “not at all important.”
Moreover, there is plenty of survey data which finds that the current generation of young adults is more skeptical about abortion than previous generations. The General Social Survey (GSS) has been collecting opinion data on abortion using the same battery of questions since the 1970s. During the 1970s, 80s, and 90s, respondents between the ages of 18 and 29 were the least sympathetic toward the pro-life position. Yet since 2000, the GSS has consistently found that young adults are actually more comfortable limiting abortion in certain circumstances than are older Americans.

Other polling data shows that young adults are more likely than other demographic groups to support a 20-week abortion ban and are fairly comfortable with a range of incremental pro-life laws.
The article, in other words, is good news. It is clear that supporters of legal abortion are struggling to find messaging that will engage young voters, while pro-lifers continue to make quiet inroads among young adults.

Texas Pro-Life Law Closes Yet Another Abortion Clinic

Another abortion center in Texas has closed as a result of the new abortion law which took effect last year.
On their blog page, abortion clinic chain Whole Woman’s Health announced the closure of their Austin center.
The announcement reads:
With extremely heavy hearts, we’re announcing today that Whole Woman’s Health of Austin is closing its doors days before our trial against House Bill 2 begins.
Austin was our flagship clinic, serving the community of Central Texas with the best abortion care available to women for over ten years. House Bill 2, which passed last summer, has forced us into yet another closure, this time because we’re unable to meet the standards of an ambulatory surgical center at this location.

Texas Republican Primary Runoff Recommendations ‏

The Texas runoff elections will occur on May 27th, with early
voting taking place from May 19th through May 23rd. There are three
Republican contests that are particularly important. In this
report, I'm going to share my endorsements in these three
races.  First, however, it's important to note that no
candidate is perfect. All three of the men I'm endorsing are
only human, and there are elements in each of their records that
some of us could quibble with. However, none of the three have
anything in their past that could be considered a deal breaker,
while the same cannot be said of some of their opponents.  All
three are excellent candidates who deserve our wholehearted support
in the May 27th runoff.

In the GOP runoff for Lt. Governor, the three-term incumbent, David
Dewhurst, is running against Dan Patrick, the well-known state
Senator from Houston.  Dan Patrick is the clear choice in this
race.  While David Dewhurst is no wild-eyed liberal, in his dozen
years as Lt. Governor he hasn't exactly compiled a track record
that demonstrates a strong commitment to conservative principles.
On the contrary, he has been repeatedly praised by liberal media
outlets for his "moderation" and "bipartisanship", and his
willingness to "reach across party lines." Of course, those are
exactly the same kinds of things the mainstream media said about
John McCain when he was running for the GOP presidential nomination
back in 2008. When mainstream media types talk this way about a
Republican, they're saying that the candidate is their kind of
conservative - one who might talk a good game, but can be counted
on not to put up much of a fight against the liberal agenda.

In contrast, we never hear any liberals praising Dan Patrick for
bipartisanship, moderation, or his willingness to play footsie with
the Democrats.  Instead, they attack him for being too
conservative, not willing to compromise at the drop of a hat, and
generally just being too "far right." He has been
consistently pro-life throughout his career, and he's also a
strong fiscal conservative who can be counted on to lead the fight
to curtail government spending in Austin. He also understands what
a grave threat illegal immigration is to our traditional way of
life in Texas, and has voted accordingly. He opposes in-state
reduced tuition for illegal aliens, and he has been calling for a
crackdown on border security for years, while David Dewhurst has
been missing in action in this area. Dan Patrick is the far better
choice for Lt. Governor.

Another runoff is for the Republican nomination for Agriculture
Commissioner, pitting Tommy Merritt against Sid Miller. Tommy
Merritt is a politician with a history of big spending and working
against conservative causes, while Sid Miller has a better track
record.  Sid Miller authored the law that requires abortionists to
perform a sonogram on the unborn baby at least 24 hours before
performing an abortion, which has no doubt led to countless women
changing their minds and letting their babies live. Liberals
despise this law, and they have never forgiven Sid Miller for
writing and introducing it.  That's one reason there are a lot
of attacks being made against him, even though the office of
Agriculture Commissioner has nothing to do with abortion. Left-
wingers believe that a man who believes strongly in the sanctity of
human life is unfit for any office, period.

Sid Miller's opponent in the runoff, Tommy Merritt, is a
completely different story. A former member of the Texas House,
Merritt was declared the most liberal of all Republican House
members in 2010.  This isn't simply a nickname he was given by
a few conservative groups on the basis of some minor disagreements,
as some of his supporters like to spin it.  On the contrary, Mark
P. Jones, head of the Rice University Political Science department,
made the statement.  He studied the voting records of all House
members in 2010, and in an article published in the Houston
Chronicle he wrote that Tommy Merritt was "the most liberal
Republican" in the House. That pretty well tells us all we
need to know about Tommy Merritt. We need to support Sid Miller for
Ag Commissioner.

In the GOP runoff for Attorney General, Ken Paxton is facing Dan
Branch. This could well be the most important of the three
contests. Greg Abbott, the sitting AG, often says this about his
job description:

"I go to the office, I sue the federal government, and then I
go home."

While he's obviously exaggerating, there's a lot of truth
in his quip, as he has sued the feds over two dozen times while in
office. Burdensome federal regulations and other unconstitutional
violations of states' rights by Washington, D.C. are bad enough
now; in the future, they're likely to become even more numerous
and more intrusive. We're going to need an Attorney General who
will fight for our rights as Texans against the federal regime that
is constantly seeking to trample those rights.

Dan Branch is not the man for the job. Far from being a reliable
conservative, he's one of Joe Straus's cronies. Dan Branch
is also a big spender - in  2007 he earned a D- on the Texans for
Fiscal Responsibility Index. In 2013, they gave him an F. In the
past, NARAL Pro Choice-America, the most rabidly pro-abortion
advocacy group in the country, commended Branch for authoring a
legislative amendment that would have increased the number of
third-trimester abortions in Texas. Naturally, the media loves a
RINO like Dan Branch; the Houston Chronicle recently described him
as "respected", "moderate", and
"pragmatic", and took him to task for trying to falsely
portray himself as a staunch conservative.

Ken Paxton is the man we need in the office of Attorney General.
His record in the Legislature makes it clear he won't back down
from a fight.  While Dan Branch was content to be Joe Straus's
lackey, Ken Paxton actually challenged Straus for the position of
the Speaker of the House.  Make no mistake - it takes a lot of
courage to mount a challenge to an incumbent House Speaker. Ken
Paxton knew he would pay a price for his challenge, but he did it
because of his commitment to conservative principles. That's
exactly the kind of Attorney General Texas needs. Here's what
Senator Ted Cruz said about the candidate:

"Ken Paxton is a tireless conservative warrior. Ken Paxton
stands and fights, whether it's against Obamacare, whether
it's fighting for voter ID, or whether it's fighting to
defend our religious liberty. And I'm proud to say Ken Paxton
is my friend who fights hard in the state of Texas."

Like Sid Miller and Dan Patrick, Ken also has the support of many
conservative advocacy groups across the state. He's the hands
down choice for Attorney General.

Runoffs tend to have low turnouts compared to general elections and
primaries.  Conservatives can't afford to neglect this one, as
the stakes at the ballot box are higher than they've ever been.
I urge everyone to vote for Dan Patrick for Lt. Governor, Sid
Miller for Ag Commissioner, and Ken Paxton for Attorney General.

Remember that politics is often choosing between the lesser of two
evils, especially in runoff elections where you only have two
candidates.  These are my recommendations, but the choice of a
candidate does not entail a blanket endorsement of the individual,
just my view that they are the least worst choice from the two we
have.

Early voting for runoff: May 19th - May 23rd.
Runoff election date: May 27th

Gosnell Movie Raises $2.1 Million to Tell Story of Abortionist Who Killed Babies Born Alive

They did it. The producers of the Gosnell movie have raised the $2.1 million they needed to make the Hollywood-style film that will tell the story of the gruesome abortion practitioner.
The campaign reached its goal four days ahead of schedule thanks to a unified effort by pro-life advocates and almost 24,000 people who agreed to fund the movie. Proving its grassroots appeal, most of the 23,471 donors contributed $100 or less while only 72 people claimed the perks from donating over $1,000.
He is the abortion practitioner who killed babies in live-birth abortions that were more akin to infanticide than abortion. The media virtually ignored Kermit Gosnell until the pro-life movement launched a concerned effort to call them out on their bias during the early stages of his trial for murder.
Now, Gosnell is prison, having been convicted of murder in the deaths of multiple babies,though he was accused of killing thousands of viable babies. Still, one report from Gallup showed a large percentage of Americans still have no idea who Gosnell is and what he did. A new crowd-funded campaign for a Gosnell movie hopes to change that.
Ann McElhinney and Phelim McAleer, the directors behind Not Evil Just Wrong and Fracknation are behind the Gosnell movie project. Their made-for TV movie is based on real life Grand Jury testimony with actors to tell the Gosnell story.
In an email to LifeNews, they thanked supporters of the movie for their donations:
“The Gosnell Movie has raised $2.1m and will be made! We are so incredibly grateful to you for getting us here. It’s been a long road and it was your ongoing support that carried us through,” they said.
“We are delighted, but not done working just yet! The campaign is open until midnight on Monday the 12th. We’ve got the minimum money we needed, but we would still like more people to join in. So we’re announcing a stretch goal – we want at least 30,000 people to become part of this historic project. They don’t need to donate much, even a dollar will do. And needless to say, all these dollars will go towards hiring better talent to make this movie even greater,” they added.
They launched a historic crowd-sourcing campaign to fund the film, Gosnell, through Indiegogo that was successful thanks to the help of some notable pro-life celebrities like Kevin Sorbo and despite the fact that Kickstarter initially kicked the movie off ts web site.
As the directors say:

Dr. Kermit Gosnell is the most prolific serial killer in American History, but almost no one knows who he is.
The Grand Jury investigating Kermit Gosnell’s horrific crimes said this:
          This case is about a doctor who killed babies … What we mean is that he regularly and illegally delivered live, viable, babies in the third trimester of pregnancy – and then murdered these newborns by severing their spinal cords with scissors …. Over the years, many people came to know that something was going on here. But no one put a stop to it.   (Report of the Grand Jury)
Gosnell is serving several life sentences but the media basically ignored his crimes and his trial. They ignored the facts that emerged from the trial, like the fact that the babies he murdered suffered terribly. Here is what a neonatologist told the Grand Jury:
          The neonatologist testified… If a baby moves, it is alive. Equally troubling, it feels a “tremendous amount of pain” when its spinal cord is severed. So, the fact that Baby Boy A. continued to move after his spinal cord was cut with scissors means that he did not die instantly. Maybe the cord was not completely severed. In any case, his few moments of life were spent in excruciating pain.   (Report of the Grand Jury) 
The mainstream media or Hollywood don’t think this is a story. Even though Gosnell killed more people than Gary Ridgeway, John Wayne Gacey, The Zodiac Killer and Ted Bundy combined. In a 30 year killing spree, it is thought he killed 1000s of babies. And that wasn’t a national story?
