The usually reliable Politico.com reports:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wants to push for a vote during the lame-duck session on a bill that would legalize young, undocumented immigrants if they attend college or serve in the military, according to Democratic sources familiar with a leadership conference call Wednesday.

A vote on the bill, known as the DREAM Act, could come as early as next week, the sources said. Pelosi asked Rep. George Miller (D-Calif.) and Rep. Xavier Becerra (D-Calif.) to assess the mood of the caucus, according to one source.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) had previously announced that he plans to bring up the DREAM Act during the lame duck session. His spokesman said Wednesday that Reid still hopes to call a vote.

Folks, this is incredibly outrageous. Pelosi and Reid know that voters last week overwhelmingly elected a Congress for next year that opposes any kind of amnesty.

What they are doing is trying to thwart the will of the people. And their primary hope is to get defeated incumbents to vote FOR this amnesty since they won't be facing voters any time soon, if ever.

It looks like the amnesty attempt will happen first in the U.S. House.

It looks like Pelosi could win this one -- unless there is an absolutely massive public reaction against her shenanigan.

Please send the faxes this evening. We will come back to you with a phone alert tomorrow. (All congressional offices are closed today for Veterans Day.)

What happened at the polls last week does not matter right now. The Congress that may vote on the amnesty next week is filled with dozens of people who were voted out of office. The fate of the country is in THEIR hands.

And remember that this amnesty is not just about teenagers and children but about every illegal alien up to age 35 who is willing to claim having been brought illegally to the U.S. before age 16. It is estimated that 2 million illegal aliens would actually qualify and that millions more might get the amnesty through fraud.

Please send your faxes.

Thank you,

-- ROY
