Last week, Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers said on CNN that on the issue of immigration Republicans are "for comprehensive reform". Comprehensive reform is code word for amnesty for illegal aliens.
This statement was especially concerning coming from Rep. McMorris Rodgers who will serve as the Chairwoman for the House Republican Conference during the next Congress. In that role, McMorris Rodgers will represent the full GOP House contingent.
During her three previous terms in Congress, Rep. McMorris Rodgers has consistently supported immigration enforcement measures while opposing amnesty. She rejected the DREAM Act amnesty in 2010 and rejected a smaller amnesty in 2006. Her most recent statement, however, seems to indicate that she may be wavering on her prior positions, which would also put her out of step with the majority of the Republlican Caucus who she is supposed to represent.
Send a fax to Rep. McMorris Rodgers telling her that her statement on CNN was alarming and urging her to represent the wishes of her full caucus.
