New developments on drilling‏!!!

An interesting post from http://www.americansolutions.com/  about the domestic oil drilling ban. This follows this previous post about it.This follows this post about a creative solution to Gulf drilling and this previous article about the recent news about the ban on offshore drilling to encourage American energy independence This is a key issue to prevent money from going to hostile countries such as Iran and Venezuela. New developments on drilling‏

President Obama's anti-drilling agenda is driving up energy costs, killing jobs, and making us more dependent on foreign oil. Gasoline prices are above $4 per gallon in many parts of the country, with many experts predicting $5 per gallon in the near future.

Yet despite the fact that Americans overwhelmingly support more oil and gas drilling, the Obama White House has repeatedly banned, delayed, restricted, and even threatened to tax production of American energy.

But today the House Natural Resources committee will begin considering three pieces of legislation from Rep. Doc Hastings (R-WA) that would end President Obama's reckless war on American energy by encouraging more drilling, which means lower energy prices and more American jobs.

You can learn more about the legislation here, but the bills would essentially do the following:

End the de facto drilling moratorium in the Gulf by setting firm timelines for approving drilling permits;

Restart the offshore leasing process by forcing the Obama administration to hold lease sales off the coast of Virginia and in parts of the Gulf, as was planned before President Obama decided he would cancel or delay leasing until at least 2017; and

End the offshore drilling moratorium that President Obama announced late last year, which put most of America's offshore oil and gas resources off-limits to exploration and production.

For two years President Obama has worked tirelessly to make sure that American energy prices "necessarily skyrocket," even as he has loaned money to Brazil for drilling and told them America would be among their "best customers" for importing oil.

We don't need to import more oil from countries thousands of miles away. We need to drill here and drill now.

We'll keep you updated as these pro-energy and pro-jobs bills make their way through Congress, so stay tuned.

Thanks for everything you do.

Sincerely,
