White Guilt and Pride of Power

An interesting article from http://www.ucg.org/ about dealing with Mexico! This follows this post about immorality and criminals.  For a free magazine subscription or to get the books recommended for free click HERE! or call 1-888-886- 8632.

Leviticus 26:19 gives a prophecy of time when Israel would lose the “pride of its power” due to sin and disobedience of God's laws. This scripture also applies to America and Britain , the modern inheritors of the promises of the God promises to Abraham. We have applied this verse to American actions over the past sixty years in wars that have failed to bring about decisive victory on the order of the victory in World War II. Since then America has not won any major war with the same decisive mandate achieved over the Axis Powers. Korea and Vietnam are classic examples. And this is in spite of America being the single greatest military power during this period.

For three years in Iraq America has been struggling against an insurgency that has not hope of victory against American power. Yet troops and weapons have not been effectively deployed to defeat a far inferior enemy. We are seeing the same  anguish arguing for withdrawal without victory.

Historian Shelby Steel explains this from the perspective of white guilt over past “imperialist sins” in this WSJ piece today. Here are a couple of excerpts:

Anti-Americanism, whether in Europe or on the American left, works by the mechanism of white guilt. It stigmatizes America with all the imperialistic and racist ugliness of the white Western past so that America becomes a kind of straw man, a construct of Western sin. (The Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo prisons were the focus of such stigmatization campaigns.) Once the stigma is in place, one need only be anti-American in order to be “good,” in order to have an automatic moral legitimacy and power in relation to America.

Today words like “power” and “victory” are so stigmatized with Western sin that, in many quarters, it is politically incorrect even to utter them. For the West, “might” can never be right. And victory, when won by the West against a Third World enemy, is always oppression. But, in reality, military victory is also the victory of one idea and the defeat of another. Only American victory in Iraq defeats the idea of Islamic extremism. But in today's atmosphere of Western contrition, it is impolitic to say so.
Steele also says this white guilt is at the heart of American inability to deal with its immigration problem with Mexico. This is the best article I  have seen in recent years to understand how we have lost a “pride of power”.  Read it here.

Editorial: Should Americans celebrate Mexican Independence Day? Ask Jeb

Editorial

In the spirit of multiculturalism, should U.S. citizens celebrate Mexican Independence Day?

Consider Candidate Jeb Bush's take on this.
http://www.vdare.com/articles/why-would-jeb-bush-rather-lose-an-election-than-defend-the-historic-american-nation-because-hes-a-freak

Jeb developed a romantic image of Hispanic culture in his youth. Jeb met Columba in 1971 when he was on a work study trip to Mexico, part of the Man and Society class he was taking at his elite Andover prep school.
As Politico put it in The Year that Changed Jeb Bush Forever, the experience is “How a radical class—part Lord of the Flies, part Peace Corps—introduced a preppy teenager to Mexico and the love of his life” [by Michael Kruse, May 21, 2015]. Jeb himself says of the stay: “My life really began in earnest when I was 17 years old in León, Mexico.” And Politico’s Kruse believes “[Bush’s] stubborn insistence on a doors-open immigration policy in a Republican Party that has moved away from it… can be traced back to León.”

Let’s look at some of Jeb’s peculiar and self-defeating stances.
Jeb Bush has a sentimental, romantic, and passionate attachment to Hispanic culture–and indifference (at best) towards the historic American nation.
Currently, Jeb is trying to say Trump isn’t a “true conservative” because he’s dug up old things The Donald has said and done. And Jeb might be right about some of them.
But with all Trump’s imperfections, he shows concern for working Americans. And he’s sounding better as he goes along–partially because Jeb is inspiring him to defend things like the use of English in America.
Tellingly, Jeb has not attacked Trump’s illogical and inexplicable proposal to bring the “good ones” back after deporting illegal aliens. (Let’s hope he forgets about it.) Any candidate could do it. But not Jeb, because that would be “insensitive” to Hispanic sensibilities.
So, instead, Jeb would rather lose than hurt Latino feelings. While Trump rhetorically positions himself as a defender of the American nation, Jeb welcomes the U.S. becoming a part of the Third World. He would rather go down defending “his” invading Hispanic community—which, remember, does yet not cast even ten percent of the vote in American elections.

World News and Trends: Is Mexico the next threat to U.S. stability?

World News and Trends: Is Mexico the next threat to U.S. stability?

Printer-friendly version

Mexico's rise in crime, violence, drugs and kindnappings indicate it's headed towards an inevitable downfall. What will this mean for the United States?

Even in terms of annual legal crossings on the U.S.Mexican border, the estimated number of 300,000 makes it the world's busiest. Yet the possibility of a failed Mexican state ranks high among American international worries.
A regular column in the International Herald Tribune asked: "What do Pakistan and Mexico have in common? They figure in the nightmares of U.S. military planners trying to peer into the future and identify the next big threats. The two countries are mentioned in the same breath in a just-published study by the United States Joint Forces Command, whose jobs include providing an annual look into the future to prevent the U.S. military from being caught off guard by unexpected developments " (Bernd Debusmann, "Among Top U.S. Fears, a Failed Mexican State," Jan. 9, 2009, p. 2).
Both of these countries are close to the top in the reported rankings of failed states subject to rapid and sudden collapse. The dangers associated with Pakistan are more painfully obvious. A retired American intelligence analyst said in December 2008 that Pakistan is "one of the single most challenging places on the planet" (ibid.).
Mexico is more of a surprise. One paragraph in the article reflects the gravity of Mexico's plight: "Vicious and widening violence pitting the drug cartels against each other and against the Mexican state have left more than 8,000 Mexicans dead over the past two years. Kidnappings have become a routine part of Mexican daily life. Common crime is widespread. Pervasive corruption has hollowed out the state" (ibid.).
Mexico's governmental infrastructure remains under continual pressure and assault by drug cartels and other criminal gangs. The Joint Forces Command study plainly stated: "Any descent by Mexico into chaos would demand an American response based on the serious implications for Homeland Security alone. One minor indication is that the Mexican border town of Tijuana is now off-limits to American marines because of its increasing violence" (Chris Ayres, "You Wanna Die Tonight, Gringo?" The Times, Jan. 23, 2009, p. 2). (Sources: The Times [London], International Herald Tribune. )

Get Angry NOW About Obama’s Post-Election Amnesty

An interesting article from www.Vdare.com about Obama's post-election amnesty. This follows this post about the delay in executive amnesty. This follows this post about the midterm elections that you should begin supporting your closest candidates for! Remember, “Amnesty” means ANY non-enforcement of existing immigration laws! This follows this comment and this post about how to Report Illegal Immigrants! For more about what you can do click here and you can read two very interesting books HERE.
I am leaving TWITTER SOON. Please continue to follow me here.

Get Angry NOW About Obama’s Post-Election Amnesty

Never Trust a Liberal Over Three-Especially a Republican President Obama now says he will wait until after the November elections to implement an “executive amnesty” for 11 million illegal aliens, so as not to hurt Democrats’ chances this year.
Instead of waiting to be enraged in December, voters, could you please be enraged now? Once the holiday season kicks off, you’ll be too busy going to parties and Christmas shopping to notice that you’re suddenly living in Mexico.
Getting Obama to postpone a rancid idea isn’t something to celebrate. Yay! We did it! We forced him to delay doing something the country doesn’t want for SIX WEEKS! Every Republican candidate better be jamming Obama’s threat down the throats of their Democratic opponents.
Obama is claiming to have the powers of a dictator. Amnesty was considered by Congress, but—here’s the important thing: It didn’t pass. It only passed the Senate, with the votes of all Democrats and 14 not-bright Republicans. After that, widespread public revulsion prevented Marco Rubio’s amnesty bill from even being considered in the House.
But according to Obama, the only reason illegals haven’t already been given amnesty is that Congress is not “doing its job.”
What does Obama imagine Congress’ “job” is? Being his errand boys? Their job is to represent their districts. I promise you, House members are doing a better job representing their districts than at least a dozen senators are at representing their states—or than Obama is doing representing the country. It’s called the “People’s House” for a reason.
Noticeably, every Republican senator running for re-election this year claims to oppose amnesty—even the ones who voted for it. (Let’s hope they remember how unpopular mass immigration is when it’s time to vote, not just when they’re running.)
Obama’s base isn’t even looking for representation. We could have a 1929-level stock market crash, Obama could commit a murder on the White House lawn—and they would still support the first minority president!
But Obama says he can do whatever he wants on immigration because it’s “a serious issue and Congress chooses to do nothing.”
If bills became law provided only the Senate and president agreed, the Nicaraguan Contras would have been funded out of the U.S. Treasury, Reagan would have gotten his MX missiles in 1982 and the Soviet Union would have fallen five years sooner, school busing would have been eliminated without waiting for the courts to act a decade later, and most of George W. Bush’s tax cuts would have been made permanent. In all those cases, a president wanted to do something—and the Senate agreed! But the House said no, so it never happened.
Obama can’t ignore the House and make amnesty happen either. That’s why he’s talking about an “executive amnesty,” which sounds like the top-tier donation category at one of the 4 million fundraisers Obama has held since becoming president, where the dinner starts at $25,000 per couple and you might bump into Jay-Z in the men’s room. Actually, it just means Obama publicly, openly, officially stops enforcing immigration law.
Except in his own mind, Obama can’t make illegals legal. But he can direct the entire immigration apparatus of the federal government to act as if amnesty has passed. The theory is that once they’ve been treated as if they’re legal for a few years, it’s a fait accompli, and no future president will resume enforcement of the law.
Although consistent with historical practice, it’s not where the country is at all. This election is our first referendum on amnesty.
Not only do we have Obama’s promise that he’ll refuse to execute the law—it’s not as if he took some kind of oath, after all—but there’s good reason to believe him: After this election, he’s got nothing to lose. Democrats will have two years to sign up 30 million illegal immigrants for Social Security benefits, food stamps and voting cards.
There is no more important political issue than this: Republicans must take the Senate this year.
You know how much you’ve been enjoying the courts overturning state referendums prohibiting gay marriage? Get ready for a lot more of your hard-won political victories to be nullified by the courts if Republicans don’t take a Senate majority.
Remember how the Supreme Court upheld Obamacare on a 5-4 vote? Obama could have a shot at replacing another Supreme Court justice in the next two years. As a senator, he voted against both of Bush’s nominees, so he can’t very well complain if Republicans reject his loony-bird nominees.
Have you heard about the federal judge conspiring with Attorney General Eric Holder and the ACLU to bring deported illegal aliens back from Mexico? Yes, he’s bringing them back. That judge, John A. Kronstadt, can’t be impeached unless Republicans take the Senate.
With Republican majorities in both the House and Senate, Congress should just keep passing bills and sending them to the White House—or whatever golf course Obama’s on, busily not executing the law. If Obama vetoes their bills, Republicans can denounce him as a “do-nothing” president.
And keep in mind, this election will determine whether President Ted Cruz or President Mitt Romney will have a Republican Congress in 2017. They won’t—unless Republicans win every possible Senate race this year. The Senate seats up for election two years from now are not nearly as favorable to Republicans as the Senate seats up this year.
Unforced Republican errors in Delaware, Indiana, Missouri, Connecticut and West Virginia in the last few election cycles have already cost Republicans five Senate seats. (See my last book for the heart-breaking details.)
Five! Think of that! Republicans would have 50 seats in the Senate right now—maybe 51, if they could flip Sen. Joe Manchin in West Virginia—but for Republican stupidity, arrogance and narcissism. Instead of desperately hoping to win a bare majority, we would be one “wave election” away from a veto-proof majority.
Surveying the wreckage of a mere two years of a Democratic president with a Democratic Congress, all Americans should be focused like a laser beam on putting the Senate in Republican hands.
Won’t you be angry if our power-mad president grants millions of illegal immigrants “executive amnesty” on the basis of his nonexistent constitutional authority to ignore the law? The surge of needy foreigners across our Southern border, so far, will be nothing compared to what’s coming if Obama does this.
He says he will. He thinks voters are too stupid to notice.
Prove him wrong.

Editorial: Contact your Representatives about Tahmooressi on Mexican Independence Day!!!

Editorial

An update of a previous post based on information from www.HelpSaveMaryland.org.

Please contact your House Representative Here: http://www.house.gov/representatives/find/

As you know, the Mexican Government has been illegally holding American Marine SGT. Andrew Tahmooressi for mistakenly straying across the border.  He now sits in a jail cell while our government does nothing for his release.

Keep in mind the Keystone Cop Mexican Border Guards Organization makes the Obama Administration border security plan actually look legitimate.

For a few pesos, anyone can cross the border heading north to get a piece of the American welfare state - Mexicans, Central Americans (especially 60,000 plus children, MS-13 and Latin Kings from El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, etc.), Iranians, Chechens, and the like.

These so-called immigrants are the clientele of the National Council of La Raza (The Race) and Attorney General Eric Holder.

We have about 20 million illegal aliens in this country who "strayed" across the border.  Rather than sitting in jail, they are encumbering American jobs, using American schools, social services, welfare, in-state college tuition, and driving with licenses on our roads with impunity from the law.

But one American, Marine SGT. Andrew Tahmooressi, makes one mistaken turn driving near the Mexican border and somehow those sleepy, corrupt Mexican Border guards grab him.

Tahmooressi, a Marine who  actually served with "honor and distinction" in Afghanistan, now sits in a Mexican prison.

Happy Independence Day to Mexicans in Mexico!!

VDARE.Com Wishes Mexicans A Happy Bicentennial/Centennial—In Mexico

It's an exciting time in Mexico, as the country celebrates its Independence Day (15-16 September). And it's not just any Independence Day either. This year it's the Bicentennial. And not only that, it's also the Centennial! How is that possible?

First off, let's get one thing out of the way—Cinco de Mayo. Cinco de Mayo is not an important holiday in Mexico. The last school year in which I taught in Mexico, my school didn't even bother to let out for it! The recent promotion of Cinco de Mayo north of the border owes a lot to beer companies, ethnic activists, and pandering politicians. It's a tool for the Hispanicization of the United States. But in Mexico, it's mostly ignored.

The two patriotic Mexican holidays that truly are celebrated by the people are Independence Day and Revolution Day (traditionally November 20th but nowadays the third Monday in November).

Independence Day celebrates the night in 1810 when Catholic priest Miguel Hidalgo gathered a crowd and rang a bell in front of a church in the town of Dolores, calling for the multitude to rise up against the government of the Spanish viceroy. Hidalgo wasn't actually calling for independence from Spain, which was then subject to Napoleon, but after his death the movement he began became focused on independence. Mexico finally became independent in 1821. But today it's the 1810 date which is celebrated, not the 1821 date.

Revolution Day celebrates the beginning of the Mexican Revolution in 1910, a civil war that lasted about 10 years (historians aren't in agreement on its end point). This conflict is most notable for producing the current (though much-revised) Mexican Constitution.

Thus, in 2010, Mexico celebrates both its Bicentennial of Independence and its Centennial of Revolution.

The Mexicans have pulled out all the stops to celebrate this year. Planning began in 2006 under the Fox administration. Calendar year 2010 is a year-long festival, with all sorts of programs to commemorate the Bicentennial and Centennial.

I have been writing about this on other websites. If interested you can see my articles here , here, here, here and here.

The Bicentennial/Centennial year of 2010 is being commemorated by over 700 activities. There are ceremonies, conferences, radio shows and art exhibitions. Mexican television stations broadcast related programming, and highways are marked with the Ruta 2010 signs indicating historical routes.

It's not only the Mexican federal government which is promoting the Bicentennial. So are all 31 states and the Federal District (Mexico City).

It's even being celebrated outside of Mexico—which mostly means in the United States. Here are some photographs of celebrations which have already taken place in Los Angeles and Chicago (including the participation of one Jose Hernandez, the anchor baby astronaut).

Meanwhile, back in Mexico there's even a Bicentennial song which was designated the official Bicentennial song but then declared not to be the official song! Anyway, it's still out there and it's catchy. You can see and hear the video here. It's written by Jaime Lopez and sung by Aleks Syntek, both white Mexicans. Lopez has the beard. Singer/keyboardist Syntek (real name Raul Escajadillo) looks like Elton John in his younger days and in fact has been called the Mexican Elton John.

Soon however, a parody surfaced on YouTube, which references contemporary Mexican life in lyrics such as "taxes go up", "gasoline goes up", "another [narco] gunfight". It's also worth listening to, here.

Mexico city's main plaza is called the Zocalo. It's where, because Mexicans don't have to put up with a War on Christmas, an enormous artificial Christmas tree is set up each winter. It's also where the traditional 15th of September Grito celebration is held by the president, who stands on the balcony of the Capitol Building, waves a Mexican flag and calls out vivas for Mexico and famous historical personages.

Since this is the much-touted Bicentennial, this year's Grito might well be the biggest one yet. Likewise the annual parade on September 16th could be the biggest one yet.

Interestingly enough, there are 575 foreign military troops marching in the parade, from 16 countries, including the U.S. But the Mexican president had to get permission from the Mexican Senate to allow them to march in the parade.

Certainly, there is criticism of the big Bicentennial/Centennial bash. There are questions about the cost, and reflective questions about what Mexico has actually accomplished in 200 years.

Nevertheless, these criticisms are couched in terms of a Mexican context. The critics are not calling for Mexican holidays to be abandoned in favor of the 4th of July!

Whatever Mexicans may think of their government or its direction, they love their patriotic festivals. They love their flag and national anthem. They prefer their Constitution to ours. They love being Mexicans. And it doesn't matter what kinds of problems Mexico has, or what people think of the government. Mexicans want to remain being Mexicans.

And this applies to the vast majority of Mexicans who immigrate (legally or illegally) to the United States. They don't come seeking freedom and they are not starving. Most do not come with a burning desire to become Americans. They may oppose or be indifferent to the current Mexican government, but they are not rejecting Mexican culture.

So if you transplant millions of Mexicans to the U.S., what's going to happen? They are going to transplant Mexican culture into the United States. And the more Mexicans we bring in, the harder it's going to be to assimilate them—especially when our own government encourages them not to assimilate!

Mexicans don't want the U.S. to take over their country. They might, however, take over our country if we just hand it over to them!

The basic problem is not Mexican nationalism. Mexican nationalism is not bad, it's good. True Mexican patriotism is a bulwark against globalism, including "North American Union" schemes.

In short, Mexican nationalism is good for Mexicans—in Mexico. It's when the U.S. imports Mexican nationalism into its own body politic that we're asking for trouble.

It's up to our leaders, not Mexico's leaders, to defend U.S. sovereignty.

A true patriot, therefore, can appreciate the patriotism of foreigners. As C.S. Lewis wrote in The Four Loves:

"How can I love my home without coming to realize that other men, no less rightly, love theirs? Once you have realized that Frenchmen like café complet

just as we like bacon and eggs—why good luck to them and let them have it. The last thing we want is to make everywhere else just like our own home. It would not be home unless it were different."

And, as Alexander Solzhenitsyn said in his 1970 Nobel speech,

"..the disappearance of nations would have impoverished us no less than if all men had become alike, with one personality and one face. Nations are the wealth of mankind, its collective personalities; the very least of them wears its own special colours and bears within itself a special facet of divine intention."

Lewis and Solzhenitsyn refer to well-defined differences between cultures. When one culture is invading and supplanting another culture, then that's an entirely different situation. That's why, as the saying goes, "Good Fences Make Good Neighbors".

So, let's all wish Mexico a happy Bicentennial/Centennial. Have a great fiesta. Let it be a time of celebration and reflection.

Then let Mexico construct its own future and let us construct ours. If the U.S. and Mexico can work together on issues of mutual interest, by all means let us do so. But each society should be in charge of its own country.

Happy Bicentennial/Centennial, Mexico!

A Day Without...?

Click on the blue links below

Bring It On!
There's a new propaganda film called "A Day Without a Mexican," [Trailer] by Sergio Arau, based on the offensive idea that Americans are unable to function without Mexican help.Ruben Navarrette [email him], another professional token media Hispanic in the Roger Hernandez mold, claims in his syndicated column that:
“Mexican immigrants could bring America to a standstill by not picking up a hoe, washing a dish, swinging a hammer or doing any of the multitude of tasks for which foreigners are now responsible on an average day.
“So the filmmakers asked: What if there were suddenly a day without Mexicans?
“We get the answer after a mysterious fog sweeps across California, removing all Latinos and leaving behind economic distress, food shortages, work stoppages and civil unrest. The fog also leaves behind scores of helpless Anglos who have grown so accustomed to being catered to by their Latino maids, gardeners and nannies that they have forgotten how to take care of themselves." [A day without Mexicans is like — Oh, my God, May 26, 2004]This is nonsense, of course. The United States got along fairly well without a massive invasion of Mexican peasants for two hundred years. But, like the similar films [The Day After and The Day After Tomorrow] made as anti-American and as environmentalist propaganda, it will convince many of the its more gullible viewers to believe things that aren't true. The title obviously leads to the following game, which you can play at home, if you like. Complete this sentence:"A day without Mexicans is like a day without …."?Here are some of VDARE.com's answers: "A day without Mexicans is like a day without …."
