House GOP leaders blocking E-Verify bill

An urgent post from http://www.numbersusa.com/ about national E-Verify being blocked by the House GOP. This follows this post about immigration amnesty in Rhode Island.  This follows this post about how to Report Illegal Immigrants such as the 30,000 openly illegal immigrants in the border town of El Paso, where President Barack Obama recently bashed immigration enforcement!  For more that you can do to get involved click HERE and you can read a very interesting book  HERE!

And Remember when contacting public officials to please be firm but respectful. Any over the top messages could result in law enforcement action against you. Just let these politicians know that you are aware of what they have done and that you intend to remove them from office in the 2012 elections.

Dear Friends,

National political consultants apparently have convinced top House Republican leaders that they should do nothing about immigration this fall out of fear of alienating one open-borders group or another.

All of our Capitol Hill personnel are picking up information this week that these GOP leaders currently plan to keep the Legal Workforce Act (H.R. 2885) from a House floor vote this fall.

The reasoning is absurd in that they supposedly don't want to do anything that detracts from their focus on jobs.

Your task is to immediately and massively ensure that these Republican leaders understand that IMMIGRATION IS A JOBS ISSUE and that H.R. 2885 IS a jobs bill.

Here are the U.S. Representatives currently blocking movement on the Legal Workforce Act that requires all employers to use E-Verify and to fire illegal aliens who already are working for them:

Speaker of the House Boehner (Ohio)

House Majority Leader Cantor (Virginia)

House Majority Whip McCarthy (California)

House Chairman of Ways & Means Committee Camp (Michigan)

Members of the Ways & Means Committee

Friends, you have proven repeatedly over the years that by all working together you can change the political storyline.

Now is a most important time to do it again.

ACTION: Please go to your customized NumbersUSA Action Board and click to send the free faxes we have prepared for you.

Keep in mind that you can modify the fax language in any way you want before you send the faxes through our system.

All of you will see faxes to the House Leadership. Those of you whose U.S. Representative serves on the Ways & Means Committee will see an additional fax to send.

No jobs bill in Congress will move so many unemployed Americans so quickly into jobs as will the Legal Workforce Act.

If Republicans are serious about jobs, they will pass the Legal Workforce Act this fall and put millions of unemployed Americans back to work.

Republicans have been in charge of the House for nine months and have done nothing to move illegal aliens out of 7 million non-agricultural jobs.

The GOP leadership's keeping the Legal Workforce Act from the House floor for a vote suggests that Pres. Obama is right about House Republicans being a "do-nothing Congress."

House leaders have been back in town and need to get a strong reality check the rest of this week that Americans expect them to stop the national disgrace of forcing millions of Americans into unemployment because of the federal government's refusal to require verification at the workplace.

THANKS FOR ACTING TODAY -- BE PREPARED FOR MANY MORE ACTION REQUESTS THE NEXT FEW WEEKS.

Rep. Lamar Smith has introduced legislation, H.R. 2885, that would require all businesses in the United States to use the E-Verify employment verification system. This legislation has been referred to the House Ways & Means Committee for its several provisions that mention the Social Security Administration. Unfortunately, Ways & Means Chairman Dave Camp has refused to act on this legislation.

The House GOP Leadership (House Speaker John Boehner, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, and Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy) holds great sway and has the power to force Chairman Camp to take up this legislation. Please fax these three Representatives and urge them to support this legislation and ensure it makes its way through the House so that millions of unemployed Americans can find jobs by the end of the year. Be sure to encourage them to pressure Chairman Camp to take up this legislation!

Among its other provisions, H.R. 2885 would:

•Open up jobs for 22 million unemployed Americans by phasing in E-Verify over two years, starting with the largest companies first.

•Protect the identities of Americans by requiring SSA to send a yearly notification to each owner of a Social Security number that has income reported by multiple employers and may have been stolen by illegal aliens. Requires employers to run through E-Verify those employees who likely have stolen the number from the legitimate owner.

Most important, this law does not increase costs for the Social Security Administration or require any private information to be shared with the Department of Homeland Security.
