Does your Member of Congress support Official English?

An urgent post from http://www.usenglish.org/ about linguistic unity. This follows this post about immigration battles in CA, MD, UT, and other states. This follows this post about how to Report Illegal Immigrants such as the 30,000 openly illegal immigrants in the border town of El Paso, where President Barack Obama recently bashed immigration enforcement! For more that you can do to get involved click HERE and you can read a very interesting book HERE!

And Remember when contacting public officials to please be firm but respectful. Any over the top messages could result in law enforcement action against you. Just let these politicians know that you are aware of what they have done and that you intend to remove them from office in the 2012 elections.

Does your Member of Congress support Official English?‏

America is a land of opportunity, and we are proud to be a melting pot representing people of various backgrounds and cultures. Yet the one common tie that binds us all together is a common language--English.

Last March, Iowa Congressman Steve King introduced a bill to make English the official language of the United States government. Since then, H.R. 997, the English Language Unity Act, has been gaining momentum--it now boasts the support of 105 cosponsors and is currently awaiting a committee hearing in the U.S. House of Representatives.

To keep the momentum going to increase the chances of getting a committee hearing and getting this bill passed, we need your help. If your Member of Congress has not signed on, please take a moment to send a pre-written letter declaring your support of this important bill.

Thank you for doing your part to help make English the official language of the United States!
