Last week, pro-life groups celebrated as the House of Representatives passed a comprehensive ban on taxpayer funding of abortions that would apply to every department and program of the federal government.



The legislation also places strict limits on taxpayer funding of abortions in Obamacare and restores the conscience protections President Barack Obama took away from medical professionals who don't want to be involved in abortions.



But Obama and Senate Democrats, led by Harry Reid, have no interest in putting this important bill on the books to protect your rights not to be forced to pay for elective abortions. As a result, Senate Republicans will have to attach the bill to another piece of legislation and pro-life lawmakers will have to scratch and claw to find 60 votes to do that.



The last time the Senate voted on taxpayer funding of abortions was when it defeated the Nelson amendment during the Obamacare debate -- and we lost on a 54-45 vote. Since then, you rose up to protest the massive pro-abortion record Obama and congressional Democrats compiled and voted in several new pro-life lawmakers. Still, the expectation is that the bill to stop taxpayer funding of abortions has an uphill climb in the Senate.

Tell them you want them to pass the bill or attach it to other legislation so it can become law.
