The case can be made that the U.S. now has a liberal party, the GOP, and a far-left party, the Democratic Party. If that make a person want to either stay home or vote third party, that is understandable.


On the other hand, by not working within the reality of this two party system, one is allowing the party that one likes the least to win, or at least frame the debates their way. This election will likely be a hold your nose and vote for the least, bad candidate one, but it is a goal-line defense, and perhaps one's own involvement can make better choices available in the future.
