Does YOUR Member of Congress Have Principles?
According to the latest news reports, Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) plans on releasing House Republican “principles” on immigration that call for amnesty for illegal aliens as soon as next week! Though the Speaker has not provided an exact date for their release, he is expected to unveil the principles sometime between a private GOP strategy meeting Thursday, January 23 and before President Obama gives his State of the Union speech on Tuesday, January 28.
If your Member in the House of Representatives is a Republican, NOW is the time to tell him or her that AMNESTY is NOT TRUE immigration reform.
If your Member is not a Republican, tell Speaker Boehner instead!
Speaker Boehner's amnesty principles are anticipated to be intentionally vague (likely using language such as "earned legal status" or "no special pathway" to citizenship), and will be sold as representing the will of the Republican majority in the U.S. House. However, only a few key Members are reportedly working on them. These "inner circle" individuals include House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA), House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), Republican Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA), House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-VA), and Speaker Boehner's immigration policy advisor Becky Tallent, who previously served as pro-amnesty Senator John McCain's (R-AZ) Chief of Staff! If your Member is not a Republican, tell Speaker Boehner instead!
Will their principles represent you?
Tell your Republican Member of Congress that you want TRUE immigration reform principles, not mere fluff designed to mask the mass amnesty and guest worker intentions of special interest lobbyists. Email your Congressman and share with them what true immigration reform principles really look like:
- No Amnesty
- Securing the Border
- Ending Visa Overstays
- Stopping the Hiring of Illegal Workers
- Robustly and Uniformly Enforcing our Immigration Laws
- Implementing a Merit-Based Immigration System
- Ending Family Chain Migration
- Supporting the American Worker
- Limiting Overall Immigration
