Wknd Box Office: Rush, Don Jon, Baggage Claim, The Citizen (Tax-Funded Muslim Propaganda Alert)

Here is an interesting article from reviewing some of the movies that came out over the past weekend. This follows this post about some of the movies from last week and THIS POST about some movies that have been released over the past few years that you might have missed! This all follows this post about guidelines to choosing good movies to watch yourself!

Wknd Box Office: Rush, Don Jon, Baggage Claim, The Citizen (Tax-Funded Muslim Propaganda Alert)

I’ll start with the relative “best” of the new movies debuting in theaters today, as it only gets worse from there. Note that one of the new movies this week sucked hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars to fund Muslim propaganda and pay a horribly anti-Israel Muslim actor who stars in Jew-baiting propaganda. Yay, America!
* “Rush“: This is a “based on the true story” movie that appears to be more truthful and accurate than most, based on my research into it after having seen the film. It’s about the early-to-mid-1970s rivalry between two professional Formula One race car drivers, Niki Lauda of Austria (Daniel Brühl) and James Hunt of the UK (Chris Hemsworth). Lauda is a strait-laced European and Hunt is a drunken playboy constantly sleeping around with models and similar others. The real-life Lauda, who is still alive, says that the movie is quite accurate, but that he got his share of the women, too. The hard-living Hunt died of a heart attack in 1993 at age 45 (but they don’t tell you that in the movie).
Directed by Ron Howard, this is somewhat a formulaic sports/racing flick. But I thought it was a fun, entertaining movie and enjoyed it. I also loved the period hairstyles and clothes, etc. I enjoyed the rivalry between Lauda and Hunt, and the movie captured what I read about them in sports news articles. Brühl and Hemsworth really resembled them (with the help of Hollywood magic a/k/a makeup artists and hairstylists).
I thought Daniel Bruhl was quite excellent and really was the star of the movie. Anyone can play a brash playboy, like Hemsworth did, but the real acting chops were in playing the strait-laced Austrian. Lauda came from a wealthy Austrian family, which opposed his entry into racing as a profession. As the movie portrays, the family wanted him to go into the family business of paper factories. While watching the movie, I wondered if members of the Lauda family were Nazis and did a little research into this after seeing the film. In fact, they opposed the Nazis, and for this reason they were removed from their paper company, which they retook after World War II. That is an interesting footnote that the movie unfortunately leaves out.
While I enjoyed the movie, I regret, though, that it was so sexual because a family cannot take their kids to see it, and it would have been fine as a racing movie without the sexual themes. It’s rated “R” for a reason. Still, as a movie for adults, I thought it was good, and it is a fact that Hunt was a playboy. It was a big part of who he was, and, like I said, his hard-living lifestyle was probably a factor in why he died so young. The one time the movie shows Hunt trying to settle down, it is with model Suzy Miller (Olivia Wilde), who later left him for actor Richard Burton (yes, Elizabeth Taylor’s Richard Burton). Wilde’s English accent needs work.
A tragic event strikes Niki Lauda in the movie and puts him in the hospital. There is a scene with lung-vacuuming that is so real it was painful to watch. And while the movie delves into their on-the-track rivalry, I think Ron Howard and the writers made a mistake not showing what happened later on in the lives of the two, much of which is very interesting. And it’s not just Hunt’s death in his 40s just after proposing to another woman. Lauda built a successful airline, Fly Niki, and left his loyal wife who stayed with him through tragic, disfiguring injury, for one of his stewardesses . . . er, flight attendants. In 2011, Lauda found himself under fire from gays for opposing gay and straight men dancing together as partners in a European edition of “Dancing With the Stars,” saying he doesn’t want young kids to be exposed to that. He responded that he employs many gays at Fly Niki, and some of them are trainers. His colorful post-racing life was in many ways just as notable and entertaining as his life as a race car driver.
This isn’t the greatest sports movie I’ve ever seen, but it’s one of the better ones. And it’s light and entertaining, a good escapist movie that’s funny and will get your mind off of real life for a couple of hours.

* “Don Jon“: What was the point of this disgusting movie? I’m not quite sure, other than to get Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Scarlett Johansson, and Julianne Moore another paycheck and give Tony Danza some work. Oh, and to give them all a chance to talk in a really annoying, heavy New Jersey accent. And to mock Catholicism.
Gordon-Levitt is a New Jersey Catholic who is addicted to online porn. He cannot have a real relationship because, he says, the sex is never as good as masturbating while watching online pornography. Yeah, I know: classy movie, right? He begins a relationship with Johansson, but again, he prefers the online porn, and she becomes very controlling, bossy, and snobby, and he doesn’t like that. She catches him watching online porn and ultimately breaks up with him over it. Soon, he is having sex with a woman who could be his mother (Julianne Moore), whose husband and child were killed in a car accident and with whom he smokes pot. Throughout the whole movie, Gordon-Levitt constantly goes to confession at church and confesses his many sexcapades just before engaging more of them. The end.
Yup, pointless. And a waste of time. But I’m sure it will do well because America’s Kardashian-addled demographic will love it and think it’s just hilarious. And you wonder why America is ever coarsening and at the same time, ever dumber.
Danza is Gordon-Levitt’s sleazy, stereotypical Italian, wife-beater-wearing father. I think he’s in the movie to show us that he still looks good. But he has so much makeup on, he looks like he just left RuPaul’s house.

* “Baggage Claim“: Is it racist if I call this, “The Black Love Boat”? ‘Cuz that’s basically what it is. Robin Thicke’s wife, Paula Patton, plays an airline stewardess, er . . . “flight attendant,” who is under pressure from her mother to get married. Her younger sister is marrying a football star, and she has no one to bring to the wedding events. So, she and her fellow airline steward (Adam Brody) and stewardess (Jill Scott, who is supposed to be funny but isn’t) help Patton fly around the country and go on dates with her many former boyfriends trying to find one to marry. With each one, it turns into a madcap disaster, none of it funny (despite the fact that this is supposed to be a comedy). Aside from being completely predictable, this movie is incredibly dopey and a waste of time. Yet, this is what Hollywood serves up Black America, and Black America seems to like it just fine. So, who is really the racist here? Not the movie critic (me) who dares to call out this crap. (On the other hand, I’ve seen far too many movies featuring White actors that are almost as dopey and stupid.)
There’s a reason smart people don’t check luggage: so they can avoid disasters like Baggage Claim.

* “The Citizen“: This is like one of those lecture-filled, BS-endowed ABC “After School Specials” the liberals used to make to propagandize us. Except this is the Muslim edition. Paid for with more than $561,000 in Michigan taxpayer dollars, this movie got made because the Islamo-pandering affirmative action at play at the Michigan Film Office discriminates in favor of Muslim Arabs (including terror suspects and open supporters of Islamic terrorism) and gives them tax money to fund the most absurd propaganda parading as “movies.” That’s how a first-time “director” and “writer,” Sam Kadi (a Syrian extremist who supports the Al-Qaeda rebels), gets hundreds of thousands of taxpayer money thrown at him for free, so that he can make a movie trashing America and telling us that the only good thing here are the devout Muslim immigrants that infect our shores. That’s essentially the message of this amateur-and-it-shows dud (which co-stars Agnes Bruckner, star of Lifetime’s Anna Nicole Smith movie–yup, she played Ms. Smith).
Egyptian actor Khaled Nabawy, who is the lead in this movie, has a creepy resemblance to 9/11 Mohammed Atta, and he’s got a history of starring in anti-Israel movies in the Muslim world (and, now, if you pay taxes in Michigan, you paid him for more propaganda). Nabawy starred in such “gems,” as “Fatat Meen Israeel,” in which,
A teacher and his wife, accompanying their son Tarek, find themselves in the same place where their eldest son was killed by the Israelis. During the trip Tarek falls in love with a girl called Lisa after saving her from drowning, unaware of the fact that she is Israeli, believing she and her father are American.
And, then, there’s this joke of a movie, in which Nabawy plays a devout Lebanese Arab Muslim who comes to America after winning the Green Card Lottery (something that should have ended long ago, if America had any common sense about national security and secure borders). The day after he arrives in New York (the setting of this movie), the 9/11 attacks happen, and, of course, all Americans hate innocent, patriotic Muslims and physically attack them in this movie. Actually, there were few such incidents post-9/11, but who cares about the truth, when Michigan taxpayers are paying Muslims to make whatever BS propaganda they want, right?
Even though everyone in America–including Homeland Security (which locks him up for no reason for six months and won’t allow him a lawyer), the Lebanese Arab is such a good and decent guy. He saves a woman from her violent, drug-addicted boyfriend and gives her candy and the $4.50 bottle of water at his hotel, even though it is too expensive. He helps a homeless guy, buys him food, and gives him a place to stay. He works hard and goes to English class (even though he already speaks perfect English). And he saves a Jewish guy from being beaten to death by skinheads on Christmas Eve, when no one else with intervene. (This is on the streets of New York, by the way.) Newsflash: in real life in America, Muslims are often the perpetrators–NOT the saviors–in anti-Semitic violence, including in New York. He cares about America and is upset over the 9/11 attacks because he’s such a caring, pro-American guy . . . all while he prays on his Muslim prayer mat and reads the Koran. This Muslim Arab immigrant, like all Muslim Arab immigrants, is a complete saint. Isn’t that the way they all are? I mean none of them would ever take public assistance, support Hezbollah and HAMAS, be anti-Semitic, and money-launder for terrorist groups. Right? That never happens . . . in this movie, at least.
The movie shows us that despite how hard the Arab Muslim works and tries, he cannot catch a break because of us evil Americans and the mean Department of Homeland Security, which deports all these Arab Muslims, including the innocent, good ones. Yup, someone’s living deep inside fantasy (and propaganda) land, since Homeland Security deports very few Arab Muslims, including many of those who are involved in Islamic terrorism. See HAMAS terrorist Mohammad Salah, Muslim Brotherhood/Anwar Al-Awlaki-tied Jamal Abusamhadaneh (who lied to government agents about his Islamic terrorist connections), Palestinian Muslim immigration defrauder Anees Sous, etc., etc., etc., ad absurdum. Yes, there are plenty of Islamic terrorists we not only don’t deport, but to whom we welcome with open arms and citizenship.
In contrast, the movie shows that Americans are mean, cold, uncaring, drug-addicted, unambitious, lazy, homeless, bigoted, racist, violent, and criminals. Aren’t ya glad tax dollars went into financing this?
If only the vast majority of Muslim immigrants were as saintly and patriotic to America as the character fraud that is perpetrated in this movie. Sadly, as we all know, THEY. ARE. NOT.
There is a reason why many Muslims, on 9/11, cheered and danced in the streets from Dearbornistan to Paterson, New Jersey, and why many Muslim women in Dearbornistan induced their children’s births to take place on their “holiday” anniversary of 9/11. There is a reason why the vast majority of the many death, rape, and torture threats I’ve received come from American Muslims living nearby.
When Michigan tax dollars pay to fund a movie portraying any of that, we’ll be making progress.
