Amnesty Vote Tomorrow: Call your Senator Today‏

A very interesting post from www.NumbersUSA.com about the Judiciary Committee votes on SB 744, the "Gang of Eight" Amnesty bill. This follows this post about the Remember 1986 Press Events about S744, the "Gang of Eight" bill. This follows this post about the Executive Branch's scandals as a distraction away from the "Gang of Eight" Bill. This follows this post about the release of illegal immigrant felons from prison by ICEThis follows this post about how to Report Illegal Immigrants! Amnesty Vote Tomorrow: Call your Senator Today

Dear NumbersUSA members who oppose amnesty and major immigration increases,

You are part of our first line of defense against amnesty and 33 million work permits for foreign job seekers over the next 10 years and your help is needed this week. You have a Senator(s) on the Senate Judiciary Committee that will vote on S. 744 tomorrow, Wednesday, May 22.

Please phone your Senator TODAY

800-843-6735

All you have to say is something like:

"My name is _______ from ________. I'm calling to ask the Senator to please vote NO on S. 744 when the Judiciary Committee votes on final passage this week."

[Note: We are using a new phone system to avoid many of the busy signals you have experienced in recent campaigns and to ensure that your calls get through. You will be prompted to enter your zip code when you call. This will make sure you are directed to your two Senators. You will find the list of Judiciary Committee members below. If you live in Minnesota, Texas or Utah, both of your Senators are on the Committee. Otherwise, select your Senator listed below when prompted.]

EVERY CALL MATTERS

======================

About half of you receiving this alert have a Senator who has already decided to vote in favor of this bill in committee. In fact, it is almost

certain that the bill will be passed by the Judiciary Committee. But

your phone call is still critically important.

Today's phone calls are about setting the stage for the fight on the

Senate floor. While a few champions have emerged in opposition to this bill, most Senators are sitting back and waiting to take a position on this bill until they absolutely have to. That time is near. As soon as

S. 744 is reported out of the Judiciary Committee, the clock will start

counting down toward a Senate floor vote in just a few weeks.

The 82 Senators who are not part of the Judiciary Committee are paying close attention to the level of noise that is created over this week's vote. If they hear from their Judiciary Committee colleagues and others that the vote went virtually unnoticed by constituents, many Senators who are on the fence will be led to believe they can get away with supporting amnesty and immigration increases with little constituent push-back. If, on the other hand, word gets out that even the Members who voted in favor of the bill heard resounding opposition from their constituents, it will be much scarier for other Senators to make a vote against the wishes of the voters in their state.
