Networks Censor Congressional Hearing Exposing Planned Parenthood Selling Aborted Baby Parts

An interesting story from www.lifenews.com about Planned Parenthood. This follows this post about abortion payment. This follows this post about Kamala Harris. For two very interesting books click HERE.

A congressional probe into whether or not businesses profited from aborted baby body parts should scream big news. But not so for the three broadcast networks.
On Wednesday, the Select Investigative Panel on Infant Lives Subcommittee held a hearing on “The Pricing of Fetal Tissue.” The networks, ABC, CBS and NBC, didn’t say a word about the hearing during their morning and evening news shows following the event.
The congressional investigation on the harvesting of aborted baby parts began after the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) released a series of undercover videos last summer.
As representatives argued back and forth, House Republicans publicized documents that suggested businesses illegally profited from the trafficking of aborted baby parts for research.
The purpose of the hearing, according to Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) who leads the committee, was to “examine business documents, invoices, marketing brochures, and management documents that reveal one for-profit procurement business and several abortion clinics may have acted in violation of federal law by profiting from the sale of baby body parts, organs and tissues.”
Last November, MRC Culture found that the six Democrats on the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s Select Investigative Panel had received more than $81,000 from Planned Parenthood.

When it comes to CMP’s undercover videos, the networks refrain from covering congressional hearings – unless they star Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards.
But while the networks remained silent during their news shows Wednesday evening and Thursday morning, several pro-life organizations reacted to the hearing.
“The documents made public by the Select Panel confirm David Daleiden’s findings from undercover videos exposing baby organ harvesting and sale,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser in a statement released yesterday. “Procurement companies like StemExpress market themselves to abortion clinics by explicitly offering them chances to make money. The documents make clear there is absolutely no cost to the abortion clinic so that all monies received go to their bottom line.”
Kristian Hawkins, president of Students for Life, addressed Planned Parenthood in her statement.
“The evidence presented publicly today not only vindicates David Daleiden and the Center for Medical Progress (CMP), but implicates Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood,” she stressed, “who said in sworn testimony to Congress that her organization made no money from selling baby body parts.”
“In reality – the reality that everyone lives in besides the abortion industry – Planned Parenthood made significant income over the past five years selling the body parts of the babies they aborted,” Hawkins added.
Arina Grossu, director of Family Research Council’s Center for Human Dignity, continued, “It’s time to get to the bottom of Planned Parenthood’s black market of baby body parts. We need an answer to the question raised last month by Rep. Diane Black (R-Tenn.): ‘Have we reached a point in our society where there effectively is an Amazon.com for human parts, including entire babies?’”
Methodology: MRC Culture searched the evening news shows (April 20) and the morning news shows (April 21) from three broadcast networks, ABC, CBS and NBC.

Congresswoman Slams Sale of Aborted Babies at Hearing: “This is the Amazon.com for Baby Parts”

An interesting story from www.lifenews.com about the Select Panel on Infant Lives. This follows this previous post about the Select Panel and the Supreme Court. For two very interesting books click HERE.
Please follow me here.

During a Congressional hearing today, Representative Diane Black, a nurse of more than 40 years, slammed the sale of aborted baby parts during her question and answer session with witnesses. Black spoke at the inaugural hearing of the Select Investigative Panel on Infant Lives, focusing on bioethics and fetal tissue research related to the exposure of Planned Parenthood and others selling the body parts of aborted babies.
Black condemned the killing of an 8-10-week-old aborted baby who was subsequently sold for parts to a research university.
“This is not dignity. This is not respect for human life,” Black said. “I want to ask the panelists – have we reached a point in our society where there effectively is an Amazon.com for human parts, including entire babies?”
A transcript of Congressman Black’s remarks and questioning of the witnesses is provided below:
SIGN THE PETITION! Congress Must De-Fund Planned Parenthood Immediately
Congressman Black:  I want to thank all the panelists for being here today. I want to begin by saying that I’ve spent my entire career as a nurse. I worked in the emergency room most of that time and it was my responsibility when I was in the emergency room, before we had the organ procurement organizations, to come and talk with the family members.  It was my responsibility when someone was deceased to look [the family members] in the eyes and ask them if they could consider donating their family member for research or transplantation. It was a very sensitive time and I’ve got to tell you that, as I think about those times, I can actually see the eyes of the people that I asked this of. One of the things that I will always remember is the dignity and respect for those family members.
There was a report done by the Office of the Inspector General, and if I may insert this into the record, that looked at informed consent and tissue donation and what the expectations and realities were of these family members. Here are the things that were found in there. I don’t think it will surprise any of us because if we have someone we love who dies expectedly or unexpectedly it is a very traumatic thing. What organs will be procured? Will the body be treated with respect? And special care to ensure that the gift is used for the stated purpose. Those are the three main things that were found both in this report and also in my experiences  . . . Very tender times. As I say, a dignity of life. I am curious that we don’t have that same dignity and respect for the life of what we call “tissue” and “fetus” and “embryo.” This is a baby . . . This is not tissue. You don’t get a brain, a liver, a kidney, all of these organs from a “tissue,” it is a baby.
Now, what I want to go to is if we could put up Exhibit F. In these documents – documents were produced to the panel by a leading university to show that a researcher sought from a tissue procurement business “a first trimester human embryo, preferably eight to 10 weeks of gestation.” . . .  This is not dignity. This is not respect for human life. I want to ask the panelists – have we reached a point in our society where there effectively is an Amazon.com for human parts, including entire babies? And I’d like to ask our panel for their opinion on this email and the notion of obtaining potentially entire embryos on demand.
Dr. Kevin Donovan: I personally find that it shocks my conscience and I think that it should shock the conscience of the nation. I think you’re absolutely right. We have commodified what has been referred to as the ‘products of conception’, meaning babies and baby parts and yes they are for sale – supposedly just to cover one’s costs but those costs seem to be quite variable. But even if they were given away free, it’s shocking to be ordering what you want – “Can I have a boy fetus or a girl fetus or a brain or a heart or a liver . . . “ This is totally in distinction to the honorable transplantation industry that is life-saving and shows great respect for the donors.
Page Comstock Cunningham: I think what we need to pay attention to here is not ‘Is this somehow increasing abortion.’ My concern is that researchers will come to count on induced abortion for their research. One of the articles I cited in my written testimony shows that they say that liver from induced abortions is widely available and is a promising source. What have we come to where researchers need induced abortions to do their research? Wouldn’t have been better if we had banned this at the beginning and used the creative minds that we have to fight for better alternatives.
Congressman Black: I just have one brief comment to make . . . I believe we should give the same information and dignity to these young women that are making these decisions. I believe it should be a more informed and educational decision that they are making and I don’t believe that is happening currently.

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Loved ones of Chris Newsom and Channon Christian are remembering the young couple, as this week marks seven years since their brutal murders.
A crowd of people gathered at Newsom's grave site in Powell Sunday, putting down flowers and holding balloons in his honor.
Several of Christian's loved ones attended the ceremony, too.
Newsom and Christian were carjacked, raped and murdered early Jan. 2007 in East Knoxville. Four people have been found guilty in their murders.
Newsom's parents said they gather to remember the couple every year so that their stories never fade away.
"We don't want anyone to ever forget what happened to Chris and Channon and we want to keep their memory alive," Hugh Newsom, Chris Newsom's father, said.
"He used to make me laugh all the time and I'll remember that and miss that," Mary Newsom, Chris Newsom's mother, said. "He'd come in the house and he'd always stand at the door and go, ‘Hi mom,' and I miss that a lot. Sometimes I look over at the door and still see him standing there doing that."

The five known war criminals responsible for the violation and murders of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom. This was the only picture of the five handy. Two additional black rapist-killers were identified by DNA in semen they had left in Channon Christian's panties, but have yet to be named. Whoever put together this photo display did no research on the case, as attested to by his repeating the Internet hoax perpetrated by neo-Nazi/FBI informant Hal Turner, according to which the victims were sexually mutilated.

Rep. Diane Black introduces bill to eliminate illegal-alien lobbyist position at ICE

A very interesting post from www.numbersusa.com about Diane Black attempting to defund the illegal alien advocate position. This follows this post about Chris Christie giving in-state tuition to illegal immigrants in New Jersey. REMEMBER, “Amnesty” means ANY non-enforcement of existing immigration laws! This follows this comment and this post about how to Report Illegal Immigrants! For more about what you can do click here and you can read two very interesting books HERE.

Rep. Diane Black introduces bill to eliminate illegal-alien lobbyist position at ICE

Rep. Black
Rep. Black
Rep. Diane Black (R-Tenn.) has introduced legislation that would permanently eliminate the "public advocate" position within the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency. The position has been defunded through continuing resolutions passed by both chambers of Congress and signed into law by Pres. Obama, but the agency has found other ways to keep the position intact. According to Rep. Black, the "public advocate acts as a lobbyist for illegal aliens by serving as a special point of contact."
"It is an outrage that federal bureaucrats think they can simply skirt the law, in essence ignoring the will of the people by playing a shell game and hiding ICE employees and activities with a mere title change," Rep. Black said in a press release. "To stop this blatant abuse of power, I have introduced H.R. 3732, the Immigration Compliance Enforcement (ICE) Act. This bill would defund both positions and prohibit the creation of any new position within ICE that would allow the agency to ignore the law and continue its pro-illegal immigration activities. It is of utmost importance that ICE be held accountable and be required to follow the spirit of the law, not just the letter."
In an op-ed written by Rep. Black and published by the National Review earlier this week, the administration has simply changed the name of the position despite the law and renamed it the "deputy assistant director of custody programs and community outreach," but the essential functions of the office are the same. She has sent numerous requests to ICE for more details on the name-change but has yet to receive an answer from the agency.

House Passes Rep. Black's Amendment to Block Funding for Fed's Lawsuits against States

House Passes Rep. Black's Amendment to Block Funding for Fed's Lawsuits against States

- posted on NumbersUSA

Rep. Diane Black

The House approved an amendment offered by Rep. Diane Black (R-Tenn.) on Tuesday night that would prevent funding for the Justice Department's lawsuits against state immigration-enforcement laws. The amendment was offered to the 2013 Commerce, Justice, and Science Appropriations Act that would provide funding for the Department of Justice for the next fiscal year. The House passed the measure by a 238-to-173 margin.

The Justice Department has filed lawsuits against immigration-enforcement laws passed in Arizona, Utah, Inddiana, Alabama, South Carolina, Georgia, Oklahoma, and Missouri. Last month, the Supreme Court listened to arguments in the lawsuit against Arizona and a decision is expected in June. Rep. Black's amendment, however, if passed and signed into law, would prevent funding for further action against the states.

An amendment offered by Rep. Danny Davis (D-Ill.) would have reduced funding from the spending bill for the State Criminal Alien Assistance Program (SCAAP). The program reimburses states that incarcerate illegal aliens, but Rep. Davis' amendment would have reduced funding provided in the bill by $10 million. The amendment was overwhelmingly defeated 99-to-311 with 96 Democrats crossing party lines to oppose the amendment.

Several more immigration-related amendments could be considered before a final vote is taken on the bill, including an amendment offered by Rep. Jeff Landry (R-La.) that would prevent funding for relief for illegal aliens who have been ordered to be deported.

Rep. Black Introduces Immigration Bill Targeting Obama Administration's Lawsuits

A very interesting post from http://www.numbersusa.com/ about stopping lawsuits that were passed by various states to make up for federal unenforcement on immigration. This follows this post about unemployed American engineers being displaced by imported workers. This follows this post analyzing the best current candidate on immigration.  This follows this post about the new congressional districts in Texas being redrawn so that the new seats favor the Democratic party in a Republican state. This follows this post about how to Report Illegal Immigrants such as the 30,000 openly illegal immigrants in the border town of El Paso, where President Barack Obama recently bashed immigration enforcement! For more that you can do to get involved click HERE and you can read a very interesting book HERE!

And Remember when contacting public officials to please be firm but respectful. Any over the top messages could result in law enforcement action against you. Just let these politicians know that you are aware of what they have done and that you intend to remove them from office in the 2012 elections.

Rep. Black Introduces Immigration Bill Targeting Obama Administration's Lawsuits

 - posted on NumbersUSA

Rep. Diane Black

Representative Diane Black (R-Tenn.) introduced H.R. 3842, a bill that would stop the Department of Justice and the Obama Administration from pursuing lawsuits against Arizona, South Carolina and Alabama over their state immigration enforcement laws.

"While the federal government and the Obama Administration have failed to take any action, individual states have put forth measures that give law enforcement the authority to address the alien populations in their states- only to see the Obama Administration slap them with politically motivated lawsuits," Rep Black told The Daily News Journal.

Rep. Black continutes, "My legislation uses Congress's power of the purse to deny Eric Holder and the Justice Department the ability to use taxpayer dollars to fund these lawsuits. Congress must support every state's right to enforce the law and protect their own citizens without fear of retribution from the federal government."

In 2010, the Department of Justice filed suit against Arizona to halt the state's immigration enforcement efforts. Since then, DOJ has entered into lawsuits against eight other states.

H.R. 3842 is a companion bill to a Senate measure, sponsored by Senators Jim DeMint (R-S.C.), David Vitter (R-La.) and Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.).

"It's absurd that the Obama Administration, which has failed to enforce the nation's immigration laws, is now stopping South Carolina, Alabama and Arizona from taking commonsense steps to protect citizens and uphold the law," said DeMint.

Representative Black was first elected in 2010. NumbersUSA rated her as a True Reformer based on her responses to our Immigration-Reduction survey.
