Donald Trump Calls for Defunding Planned Parenthood: “I Am Committed to Defunding It”

An interesting story from www.lifenews.com about defunding Planned Parenthood. This follows this post about the use of Zika to fund Planned Parenthood.  For two very interesting books click HERE.
Please follow me here.

In a new letter today outlining pro-life policy specifics, Donald Trump announced support for defunding the Planned Parenthood abortion business if it does not stop killing unborn children in abortion. Since the abortion corporation has no intention of doing so, Trump believes federal taxpayer dollars should not flow to it.
Trump today has issued a call to make permanent the Hyde Amendment that bans almost all federal taxpayer funding of abortions and is credited with saving the lives of over 1 million Americans from abortion. In that call is also a request for defunding Planned Parenthood — which stands in stark contrast to the essentially joint campaign Hillary Clinton and the abortion corporation are running for president. Planned Parenthood’s CEO is crisscrossing the country for Clinton and has put up $20 million for her.
The call for defunding Planned Parenthood comes in a new letter from Trump today.
“Hillary Clinton’s unwavering commitment to advancing taxpayer-funded abortion on-demand stands in stark contrast to the commitments I’ve made to advance the rights of unborn children and their mothers when elected president. I am committed to defunding Planned Parenthood as long as they continue to perform abortions and reallocating their funding to community health centers that provide comprehensive health care for women,” Trump says.
Marjorie Dannenfelser of the pro-life Susan B. Anthony List heralded Trump’s call for defunding the abortion giant.
SIGN THE PLEDGE: I Pledge to Vote for a Pro-Life Candidate for President
“Not only has Mr. Trump doubled down on his three existing commitments to the pro-life movement, he has gone a step further in pledging to protect the Hyde Amendment and the conscience rights of millions of pro-life taxpayers,” Dannenfelser said. “For a candidate to make additional commitments during a general election is almost unheard of. The contrast could not be clearer between the two tickets.”
In the document, Trump also says he plants to nominate Constitutionalist justices to the Supreme Court, signing into law a bill that would ban abortions after 20 weeks, and making the Hyde Amendment permanent.
“Your help is crucial to make this contrast clear in the minds of pro-life voters, especially those in battleground states,” the letter reads.
Recently, Trump released a well-received list of 11 potential Supreme Court nominees — a list pro-life groups hailed for having strong supporters of the Constitution. Trump also recently hired a key pro-life advocate has his domestic policy director.
If Trump is the nominee, he would present a stark contrast on abortion to pro-abortion Democrat Hillary Clinton.
Trump has specifically promised he would sign a bill as president to de-fund Planned Parenthood. In an interview with David Brody of CBN, Trump made that promise:
David Brody: “As a President Trump, if a bill came to your desk that would defund Planned Parenthood you would support that, you would sign that?”
Donald Trump: “Yes, because as long as they do the abortion I am not for funding Planned Parenthood… As long as they’re involved with abortion, as far as I’m concerned forget it, I wouldn’t fund them regardless. I would defund Planned Parenthood because of their view and the fact of their work on abortion…. I am for defunding Planned Parenthood as long as they are involved with abortion.”
As far as Trump’s comments on Planned Parenthood funding are concerned, Trump has fairly consistently said he opposes taxpayer funding but he’s also made some remarks about the “good things” Planned Parenthood does that have alarmed pro-life voters — as if any “good thing” could make up for the fact that planned Parenthood kills 330,000 unborn babies a year in abortions and then sells their body parts for profit.
Meanwhile, Trump said he thinks the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court case that ushered in an era of 48 million abortions was “wrongly decided.” Trump said he would appoint “very good judges” who would ultimately “change it” but he opposed Roe without specifically saying it should be overturned.
Here are some of the headlines we’ve carried at LifeNews.com in recent months that provide further details on what Trump has said regarding Planned Parenthood funding:

World News and Trends: Zika and Pneumonia Supergerms resist antibiotics

An interesting article from http://www.ucg.org/ about supergerms. This follows this post about Islamic terrorism. This follows this post about Zika. For a free magazine subscription or to get the books recommended for free click HERE! or call 1-888-886- 8632.

The bacterium, staphylococcus aureus , is the cause of most hospital infections, including pneumonia and blood poisoning. In America alone some two million such infections develop every year.
Physicians had not faced the possibility of widespread, untreatable bacterial infections since penicillin came into general use in the 1940s. Since then, bacteria have shown a seemingly relentless ability to develop resistance to antibiotics. For example, by the 1950s almost half of known strains of staph aureus had grown resistant to penicillin. Scientists successfully gained the upper hand again with the introduction of methicillin in the 1960s, but in the 1970s some strains of staph had become resistant to this drug as well. Vancomycin, the last drug known to be effective against these other antibiotic-resistant strains, had proved effective for 30 years.
Discovery of this antibiotic-resistant strain prompted an instant worldwide alert among scientists and researchers. “We have a situation which is very worrisome,” commented Fred Tenover, laboratory chief for the hospital-infections branch of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The newly isolated strain showed resistance to the last line of antibiotic defense for certain strains of bacteria. “If we're climbing the ladder,” said Mr. Tenover, “we're almost to the roof.”
Dr. Robert Haley, former head of the CDC's hospital-infections branch, added, “I can't emphasize enough: This is a major turn for the worse in the fight against infection.”
Researchers fear that this new strain could claim many lives in the years it takes to develop new effective antibiotics. (Sources: The Dallas Morning News, The Chicago Tribune .)

Editorial: Boycott the NFL!!!

Editorial

As we've seen recently, athletes who make multi-millions in the U.S. are now dishonoring the flag of the nation that is letting them get that money!

These athletes have an income that is dependent upon the fans who the athletes now despise. These athletes chose 9/11, a day of mourning for Americans, to pile on and mock the same Americans upon whom their livelihood depends.

Therefore, we should BOYCOTT the NFL!!! This includes viewing, buying merchandise, and participating in fantasy football and other betting pools!

Besides, then we can pay attention to things that really matter, such as why our nation's immigration laws are ignored! ;)

Speaker Paul Ryan Refuses to Fund Planned Parenthood in Zika Bill “That’s Something We Won’t Do”

An interesting story from www.lifenews.com about the use of Zika to fund Planned Parenthood. This follows  this post about Zika pregnancies. This follows this post about Hillary Clinton's abortion stance. For two very interesting books click HERE.

Speaker Paul Ryan refused to give in to pro-abortion Democrats’ demands for more Planned Parenthood funding in the Zika aid bill on Thursday.

Democrats have been blocking critical aid bills to combat the virus for months because they do not fund a few Planned Parenthood facilities in Puerto Rico. On Wednesday, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said Democrats would continue to block legislation unless the abortion giant gets more taxpayer dollars.
Abortion has become a major issue related to the Zika virus because of a possible link to birth defects. New research suggests the virus may not be to blame for the uptick in birth defects in some areas affected by the virus. Still, abortion advocates have been using the virus as an excuse to push for more abortions of babies with disabilities. Some pro-abortion groups even have been scaring women into aborting their unborn babies without knowing if they have Zika or if their unborn baby has a disability.

Ryan refused to give in to the pro-abortion Democrats’ demands on Thursday and called out their deceptive tactics.
“First of all, there’s no Planned Parenthood [provision] in this bill, and to put an earmark for Planned Parenthood is something that we won’t do,” Ryan said, according to The Hill.
The report explains: “The GOP’s language specifically says the grants can only be used by ‘health services provided by public health departments, hospitals, or reimbursed through public health plans.’ That would mean Planned Parenthood’s two clinics in Puerto Rico — where the virus has infected thousands — aren’t eligible.”
Fact checkers, legislators, news outlets and others are calling out pro-abortion Democrats for making false claims about the funding bills. Even the liberal fact-checking website Politifact debunked Democrats’ claims that Planned Parenthood funding is necessary to aid the fight against Zika.
Earlier this summer, U.S. Sen. John Thune, R-South Dakota, also called out the Democrats for blocking the measure because of pro-abortion politics.
“The exact same amount that Democrats unanimously supported six weeks ago and now Democrats don’t want to support it,” Thune said before Senate Democrats succeeded in blocking a funding bill at the end of June.
“A handful of Planned Parenthood clinics in Puerto Rico,” Thune continued. “Seriously. This is what this is about?”
The Hill previously pointed out how the pro-abortion Democrats are contradicting themselves on the issue: “… the stance puts Democrats in the position of now opposing a Zika funding bill after months of telling Republicans funding was needed right away.”
Democrats are blocking the funding as Zika becomes an increasing concern in Florida and other southern states. Currently, the Centers for Disease Control reports at least 624 pregnant women have been infected with Zika in the U.S. Five of their unborn babies died in miscarriages or abortions, while 16 other babies were born with birth defects in the U.S., the CDC reports.
A funding bill would provide money for vaccine development, mosquito control and other prevention, and health and treatment services for people who contract the virus. The funding would go to researchers, community health centers, hospitals state health departments and Medicaid.
Planned Parenthood has been clear about its plan for Zika. In April, a Planned Parenthood spokesperson said pregnant women who have Zika ought to be able to abort their babies because of the possible risk of birth defects. The abortion activists called killing such babies a “human right.”
Right now, Planned Parenthood is sending staffers to knock on women’s doors in Miami, Florida to talk about the virus, according to the Miami Herald. They also are giving pregnant women “Zika kits” and informational fliers that, whether directly or indirectly, promote abortion.

George Soros Gave Planned Parenthood $1.5 Million to Cover Up Sales of Aborted Baby Parts

An interesting story from www.lifenews.com about George Soros and abortion. This follows this post about the demographic effects of abortion. For two very interesting books click HERE.
Please follow me here.

It’s no secret that liberal billionaire George Soros is one of Planned Parenthood’s biggest donors. Now leaked documents show that the horrific videos uncovering the abortion mill’s baby parts trade only encouraged his foundation to give more.
A leaked document recently revealed that George Soros’ Open Society Policy Center (OSPC), wanted to give $1.5 million to Planned Parenthood for damage control after videos exposed that the abortion giant was trafficking aborted baby parts in the name of research. More leaked documents confirm that the center not only requested, but also received the money.
With the $1.5 million, OSPC, one of the U.S. branches of Soros’ Open Society Foundations (OSF), funded Planned Parenthood Action Fund’s “Fight Back Campaign” as an “urgent response in defense of women’s health” – in other words, as a response to the Center for Medical Progress’ videos released last summer.
The documents came from thousands of hacked Soros files published online Aug. 13 by a group called “DCLeaks.” And while The Free Beacon and other conservative outlets covered OSPC’s  $1.5 million request, they couldn’t confirm “whether the funds were ever actually disbursed.”
But there is proof that Soros’ network did provide cover-up money for Planned Parenthood.
CLICK LIKE IF YOU’RE PRO-LIFE!

In a Sept. 23, 2015 memo to Soros’ U.S. Programs (USP) Advisory Board (also under the umbrella of OSF), Ken Zimmerman (USP Director) and Andrea Batista Schlesinger (USP Deputy Director) outlined “select developments informing activities of USP and our grantees.”
Both Zimmerman and Schlesinger worried about the “long-term consequences” of the videos, including the “substantial eroding of Planned Parenthood’s credibility and reputation.” And, in an aside, the directors revealed that OSPC indeed “supported” Planned Parenthood with (surprise, surprise) $1.5 million.
“Planned Parenthood is mounting a vigorous defense, supported by a $1.5m OSPC grant, in the face of four Congressional investigations and a cyber-attack that closed its website … which required the hiring of security for many of its doctors, and otherwise distracted it from its core mission.”
Security was the first topic listed in the original $1.5 million Soros grant proposal to fund Planned Parenthood’s Fight Back Campaign. Besides security, the damage control initiative (projected to cost $7 to $8 million) provided money for legal defense, political lobbying, public outreach – and media outreach.
“PP is conducting national and state media outreach to both expose the true agenda of its opponents and transform the narrative surrounding these attacks,” the $1.5 million Soros grant request read. “PP is recruiting and training patients to tell their stories about the care they received at Planned Parenthood, and are running targeted television ads to educate constituents in key districts about these attacks and ask them to stand with PP.”
The Soros board reports summary section urged immediate action:
This $1.5 million grant provided an infusion of 501(c)(4) funding to Planned Parenthood Action Fund (PPAF)  as they were waging a critical defense against attacks to the reputation and credibility of Planned Parenthood and potential loss of federal funding. This emergency funding enabled PPAF to implement its multipronged Fight Back Campaign to mobilize grassroots and grasstops supporters and lobby Congress to counter attempts to defund Planned Parenthood at the federal and state levels, and to continue providing critical reproductive health care services across the country.
“Critical reproductive health care” that costs not only money, but also lives.

Congresswoman Slams Sale of Aborted Babies at Hearing: “This is the Amazon.com for Baby Parts”

An interesting story from www.lifenews.com about the Select Panel on Infant Lives. This follows this previous post about the Select Panel and the Supreme Court. For two very interesting books click HERE.
Please follow me here.

During a Congressional hearing today, Representative Diane Black, a nurse of more than 40 years, slammed the sale of aborted baby parts during her question and answer session with witnesses. Black spoke at the inaugural hearing of the Select Investigative Panel on Infant Lives, focusing on bioethics and fetal tissue research related to the exposure of Planned Parenthood and others selling the body parts of aborted babies.
Black condemned the killing of an 8-10-week-old aborted baby who was subsequently sold for parts to a research university.
“This is not dignity. This is not respect for human life,” Black said. “I want to ask the panelists – have we reached a point in our society where there effectively is an Amazon.com for human parts, including entire babies?”
A transcript of Congressman Black’s remarks and questioning of the witnesses is provided below:
SIGN THE PETITION! Congress Must De-Fund Planned Parenthood Immediately
Congressman Black:  I want to thank all the panelists for being here today. I want to begin by saying that I’ve spent my entire career as a nurse. I worked in the emergency room most of that time and it was my responsibility when I was in the emergency room, before we had the organ procurement organizations, to come and talk with the family members.  It was my responsibility when someone was deceased to look [the family members] in the eyes and ask them if they could consider donating their family member for research or transplantation. It was a very sensitive time and I’ve got to tell you that, as I think about those times, I can actually see the eyes of the people that I asked this of. One of the things that I will always remember is the dignity and respect for those family members.
There was a report done by the Office of the Inspector General, and if I may insert this into the record, that looked at informed consent and tissue donation and what the expectations and realities were of these family members. Here are the things that were found in there. I don’t think it will surprise any of us because if we have someone we love who dies expectedly or unexpectedly it is a very traumatic thing. What organs will be procured? Will the body be treated with respect? And special care to ensure that the gift is used for the stated purpose. Those are the three main things that were found both in this report and also in my experiences  . . . Very tender times. As I say, a dignity of life. I am curious that we don’t have that same dignity and respect for the life of what we call “tissue” and “fetus” and “embryo.” This is a baby . . . This is not tissue. You don’t get a brain, a liver, a kidney, all of these organs from a “tissue,” it is a baby.
Now, what I want to go to is if we could put up Exhibit F. In these documents – documents were produced to the panel by a leading university to show that a researcher sought from a tissue procurement business “a first trimester human embryo, preferably eight to 10 weeks of gestation.” . . .  This is not dignity. This is not respect for human life. I want to ask the panelists – have we reached a point in our society where there effectively is an Amazon.com for human parts, including entire babies? And I’d like to ask our panel for their opinion on this email and the notion of obtaining potentially entire embryos on demand.
Dr. Kevin Donovan: I personally find that it shocks my conscience and I think that it should shock the conscience of the nation. I think you’re absolutely right. We have commodified what has been referred to as the ‘products of conception’, meaning babies and baby parts and yes they are for sale – supposedly just to cover one’s costs but those costs seem to be quite variable. But even if they were given away free, it’s shocking to be ordering what you want – “Can I have a boy fetus or a girl fetus or a brain or a heart or a liver . . . “ This is totally in distinction to the honorable transplantation industry that is life-saving and shows great respect for the donors.
Page Comstock Cunningham: I think what we need to pay attention to here is not ‘Is this somehow increasing abortion.’ My concern is that researchers will come to count on induced abortion for their research. One of the articles I cited in my written testimony shows that they say that liver from induced abortions is widely available and is a promising source. What have we come to where researchers need induced abortions to do their research? Wouldn’t have been better if we had banned this at the beginning and used the creative minds that we have to fight for better alternatives.
Congressman Black: I just have one brief comment to make . . . I believe we should give the same information and dignity to these young women that are making these decisions. I believe it should be a more informed and educational decision that they are making and I don’t believe that is happening currently.

D.A. Who Indicted Pro-Lifers Has Extensive Relationship With Attorney for Late-Term Abortionist

An interesting story from www.lifenews.com about a recent indictment. This follows this post about the March for Life. For two very interesting books click HERE.
Please follow me here.

Since her office indicted pro-life advocates acting as undercover journalists to catch Planned Parenthood selling the body parts of aborted babies, Harris County District Attorney Devon

Yesterday, LifeNews reported how new information has come to light that Anderson’s campaign received more than $25,000 from the attorney who works for a late-term abortionist.
Since the indictment, Anderson is facing criticism over her failure to prosecute an abortionist known as the Kermit Gosnell of Houston.
Anderson oversaw a previous abortion-related grand jury investigation of Houston abortionist Douglas Karpen after Operation Rescue released evidence in the form of photos and witness testimony that babies were being born alive during abortions and intentionally killed by twisting their necks. This case garnered publicity in the wake of the conviction of Pennsylvania abortionist Kermit Gosnell on three counts of First Degree Murder for intentionally killing babies born alive during abortions in a similar fashion.
That Anderson-led grand jury failed to indict Karpen despite the considerable evidence against him.
Karpen was represented at his trial by attorney Chip Lewis, who donated more than $25,000 to Anderson’s re-election campaign.
SIGN THE PETITION: Drop the Charges Against David Daleiden and Charge Planned Parenthood
But one political blog based in Houston Texas has also noted the Anderson-Lewis relationship and indicates that it is much more extensive than just a few donations to her political campaign. Lewis initially had a relationship with Anderson’s husband Mike, who preceded her as District Attorney until he passed away.
Lewis spent the last half of the 1990s as a Harris County Assistant District Attorney. During 1999, his last year at the District Attorney’s office, Lewis represented the State of Texas in the prosecution of three Second Baptist School students alleged of aggravated sexual assault. For months, Lewis worked with fellow prosecutors Terese Buess and Lisa Andrews to prosecute these cases.
On the eve of trial, Lewis convinced the victim and her family to bless off on a plea bargain that dismissed the rape cases. In return, one of the three defendants, represented by Dan Cogdell, pled no contest to unlawful restraint and received deferred adjudication. This plea assured Cogdell that his client would not be labeled a sex offender because the plea bargain relieved the defendant of the sex offender registration requirements. Devon Anderson’s husband, Mike, accepted the plea bargain as judge of the 262nd District Court.
Following the conclusion of this deal, Lewis left the DA’s office and went to work for Cogdell. Meanwhile, the victim and her family were forced to file a civil lawsuit to recover restitution for her medical treatment
Lewis knows the media. Weeks after her husband’s passing, Devon Anderson was appointed to serve as Harris County District Attorney. Lewis served as a backchannel telling Chron reporter Brian Rogers that he “understood that Judge Anderson and Judge Hill discussed this [appointment] extensively.” How would he know?
While LifeNews documented how the abortionist’s attorney gave $25,000 to Anderson’s campaign, apparently Chip Lewis’ giving to the Anderson family started well before Devon Anderson’s bid for district attorney. Lewis also held a fundraiser for Anderson’s campaign in March 2015, the blog noted.
This does not include the funds that Lewis donated to Mike Anderson, which were ultimately transferred to Devon’s campaign account. Lewis gave Mike Anderson $12,531.
  • $10,000 on February 27, 2012
  • $1,531 on June 12, 2012
  • $1,000 on April 2, 2013
According to the report, the money from the abortion doctor’s attorney to Anderson has gotten him exactly the kind of favor in the courtroom that he’s been looking for for other clients:
Since Devon Anderson assumed the position of District Attorney in September 2013, Lewis has received approximately 40 dismissals for his clients – this does not include the numerous dismissals under her husband’s administration.
Devon Anderson needs to account for her relationship with Mr. Lewis. His campaign donations and results at the courthouse, at a minimum, appear improper.
Anderson has come under considerable fire for what pro-life advocates call a politically motivated indictment and because a Planned Parenthood board member works for Anderson as an assistant district attorney. Lauren Reeder is a prosecutor in the Harris County District Attorney’s criminal family law division. Reeder is listed as a non-compensated “Director” on the 990 Tax Form for 2014 filed by Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast.
Although Anderson indicates Reeder had no role in the Daleiden indictment, there’s really no way of knowing if that is truly the case. Because of that, pro-life advocates have called for the appointment of a special prosecutor to look into the indictment and the fact that the grand jury never voted on charges related to Planned Parethood’s sale of aborted babies.
With her top campaign contributor representing a prominent abortion practitioner and a Planned Parenthood board member working in her office, the attorney for  pro-lifer investigator Susan Merritt said it’s no wonder that Devon Anderson indicted the pro-life investigators as opposed to Planned Parenthood.
Mat Staver, Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel, told LifeNews: “There is a history of bias in the DA’s office involving abortion doctors and Planned Parenthood. We will intend to shine the light on the process. We believe the prosecutor and the grand jury twisted the law. Sandra Merritt should never have been indicted. The focus and the inquiry should and will remain on the horrific abortion practices of Planned Parenthood.”

As China’s One-Child Policy Turns 35, Woman 8-Months Pregnant Pressured to Have Abortion

An interesting story from www.lifenews.com about Chinese abortions. This follows this post about Catholic assistance to Planned Parenthood. For two very interesting books click HERE.

As China’s One-Child Policy Turns 35, Woman 8-Months Pregnant Pressured to Have Abortion

Opinion Reggie Littlejohn       Beijing, China
89 16
A woman “illegally pregnant” with her second child in Yunnan, China says she feels pressured to have an illegal abortion at eight months, so that her husband will not lose his job as a police officer. Her struggle has given rise to an outcry against the One Child Policy in China, which will turn 35 on September 25th.
According to reports, the 41-year-old woman, who will only identify herself as by her surname, Chen, stated, “I am fearful. If my husband believes I must abort the child, there’s nothing I can do . . . I am worried he would lose his job even after we lose the baby, if the situation gets messy.”
Wen Xueping, a Yunnan Family Planning Official, stated, “No way will we force them to have an abortion.” He did, however, warn of the consequences of having a child without permission. These consequences can include heavy fines and job loss for government employees, such as Chen’s husband.
Reggie Littlejohn, President of Women’s Rights Without Frontiers, stated, “The statement of the Family Planning Official is typical Chinese communist double-speak. On one hand, he says that they will not force Chen to have an abortion. On the other hand, the hefty fines he warns of can be ten times a person’s annual salary. If a couple cannot afford to pay this ‘terror fine,’ then they have no choice but an abortion. This constitutes a forced abortion.”
On June 12, 2012, Women’s Rights Without Frontiers broke to the West news of the forced abortion of Feng Jianmei, posting a heartbreaking photo of Feng with her daughter, forcibly aborted at seven months. [Warning, graphic image.] The brutality of this violence unleashed a firestorm of criticism against forced abortion under China’s One Child Policy.
CLICK LIKE IF YOU’RE PRO-LIFE!

The fact that Chen is now being forced to choose between abortion at 8 months and the loss of her husband’s job demonstrates that forced abortion continues to this day under China’s One Child Policy. Headlines have stated that the Policy has been ‘relaxed,’ allowing some couples to have a second child. But in the urban areas, if both members of a couple have siblings, these couples still can have only one child. If they get pregnant without a Birth Permit, they may still be subject to forced abortion.
The anguish of Chen dramatically demonstrates that China’s forced abortion policy needs to be abolished now. Forced abortion is official government rape. The One Child Policy – having ‘prevented’ 400 million births, too often by forced abortion — has caused more violence against women and girls than any other official policy on earth and any other official policy in history. This heinous crime against women must end.
