Editorial: Why are Refugees and Immigrants being flooded into the U.S.

Editorial

As many are aware, refugees and immigrants continue to flood into the U.S. against the will of the people. States, cities and other municipalities have stated that they do not have the resources to support this population increase, yet the federal government continues to flood them in, frequently out of spite!

What can be done about this?

There are several websites, such as www.NumbersUSA.com, and www.Alipac.US that you can register at which will help you lobby key lawmakers.

www.VDare.com has many articles which explain this situation including this key article here

Appalled By The “Refugee” Program? Step Up And **DO** Something

At her irreplaceable Refugee Resettlement Watch blog, refugee-realist Ann Corcoran is nearing 8,000 posts (personal communication).  Currently she’s imploring all of us to send actual letters—mailing pre-printed postcards and other types of slacktivism won’t do—to the Senate subcommittee that held a hearing about the refugee program on September 28:
O.K. I’ve been hearing a lot of excuses about why some of you don’t want to be bothered doing this!
Sorry folks, but saving America is going to be hard work and this is the least you can do—spend an hour writing a proper, polite letter to Senator Sessions who held a hearing last week on Obama’s final determination as President to bring in 110,000 refugees this fiscal year (the new flow began yesterday! [i.e. On October 1, start of the federal fiscal year]).  The security issues were front and center.
Leo Hohmann of World Net Daily wrote a detailed account of the hearing (Leaked Memo: Refugees Vet Themselves, September 28, 2016), including one video highlight.  To watch the entire hearing, which lasted about two-and-a-half hours and included the usual pomposities of preening, speech-making senators tangling with evasive bureaucrats, go to the Judiciary Committee’s web page here and settle in with some popcorn.  (Senators Sessions [R-AL] and David Vitter [R-LA] were welcome exceptions to the usual behavior of TV-exposure-starved politicos.)
Besides her plea for citizen engagement, Ms. Corcoran rattled off nine comments about this patriotic duty.  Here are four of them:
  • Senator Sessions took time to hold a hearing (only the second since 9/11) and should know that you care and appreciate that by taking time to write a real letter!
  • Your Senators and Member of Congress (however useless they are) must be copied on the testimony so they know that you are serious about your opposition to how the program is being administered. Attach a note to your testimony and ask that your representative respond that they received it.
  • You are not expected to be an expert on the law, or sound like you are a lawyer!
  • Your testimony does not need to be a monster summary of your situation and your concerns.  You can pick one or two key points about why you believe the UN/US State Department program needs to be halted/reformed.*** They are spending your money for it!  There is no wrong or right thing to say, just be polite.  Hint! If you don’t have a problem yet where you live, then find some specific thing you’ve seen here at RRW that is particularly concerning.
There’s a practical problem: The hearing record closes this Wednesday, October 5.  This probably means that the only practical way to get letters to the subcommittee in time is by faxing them.  (This might be true even if the “fuse” weren’t so short, as I think snail mail has a tortuous path to Capitol Hill offices because of security screening.)  The fax number for Senator Sessions’s Subcommittee on Immigration and the National Interest is 202-224-9102.
So that’s what I did, using my home fax, late Sunday evening (October 2).  My faxed letter is below, and you’re welcome to use it as a model.  However, it’s rather long—although it did fit on a single page, using 10-point Times New Roman font—so you might, instead, limit your writing to some subtopic.  You’ll find a wide range of possibilities for comment, including documentation, in the PDF version of the slides I used at a recent talk in Oregon.
That’s “too much trouble,” to actually draft a letter and send it via fax by, say, 2 p.m. Eastern Time this Wednesday?  Ms. Corcoran is having none of that:
Many of you talk big about how angry you are, you rant and rave at Obama and Hillary, you get into squabbles on social media, you are reading news all over the net all day and sending news to me, you send me ideas on what Congress should do, and then you tell me you haven’t an hour or two to write a letter to Senator Sessions, one of the few friends you have ever had in the Senate!
[Emphasis in the original, color by PN]
Added point: The subcommittee hearing was largely limited to the matter of “vetting” refugees, especially those from Syria.  But refugee resettlement is a big subject, so I tersely addressed other aspects as well in my letter.  Here you go:
[street address]
Bozeman, Montana 59715
2 October, 2016
406-XXX-XXXX (voice)
The Honorable Jeff Sessions (Attention: Gene Hamilton)
Senate Judiciary Committee, Subcommittee on Immigration and the National Interest
US Senate
Washington, DC 20510
Fax 202-224-9102
Dear Senator Sessions,
I’m writing as follow-up to your recent hearing that reviewed the U.S. refugee program.  Please include this letter in the hearing record.
In February 2003, at a conference in southern California on immigration, assimilation, and citizenship, I was introduced to Temple University law professor Jan Ting.  Immediately upon learning that Prof. Ting had been Assistant INS Commissioner under Pres. G.H.W. Bush I asked him, “Is it true what I’ve heard, that 90% of refugee and asylum cases are fraudulent?”  His instant reply: “95%.”
Nothing I’ve learned since—and I’ve learned a lot—has dissuaded me from the conclusion that the U.S. refugee program needs to be shut down.  Besides the obvious fraud (see below), it’s become merely another feeding trough for parasites, those being the “voluntary agencies” that are, in reality, just government contractors operating under a gloss of “compassion.”  They’re in it for the money!
Regarding fraud, a report in the September 29 Minneapolis Star-Tribune describes the financial hardships of Minnesota-resident Somalis who take vacation trips back to the “old country.”  Since essentially all Somalis in the U.S. are “refugees” themselves (I use those quotation marks advisedly) or the offspring of “refugees,” the fraud here is screamingly obvious.  And an article that appeared online in July illustrated the same point right in its headline: “Syrian refugees in Turkey return home for Eid,” Eid being an important holiday for Muslims and “home” in this instance being Syria.
Of course, your hearing focused on the related difficulties of vetting “refugees” having sketchy backgrounds.  On this, the three bureaucrats before you were notable primarily for their orotund blather.  When listening to such, one must keep in mind the demonstrated broad-spectrum incompetence of our federal agencies, ranging from the EPA’s flooding of the Animas River with mine waste to the 95% failure rate of TSA screeners to detect test contraband to the supposed “vetting” of the female shooter in San Bernardino.
Omitted from your hearing was any discussion of the burdens that current refugee inflows are inflicting on small cities nationwide.  (This is entirely apart from their welfare loads on the federal taxpayer, something you and your staff called attention to a year ago.)  Especially impacted are schools—with their herculean problems of bringing large numbers of new, non-English-speaking students up to speed—welfare agencies, and law enforcement.  For example, the 911 emergency dispatch in Amarillo, Texas has to contend with calls in more than 40 languages.
We ordinary American citizens don’t deserve any of these threats or costs that are imposed on us by our feckless, faux-compassionate elites.  As columnist John Hawkins wrote, “Compassion is about what you do personally, not what government programs you advocate funding with other people’s money.”  People with refugees and “refugees” on their minds should put up their own resources and do the work themselves.
Sincerely,
[signature]
Paul Nachman

16 of 17 Texas Abortion Facilities, Including Planned Parenthood, Miserably Failed Health Inspections

An interesting story from www.lifenews.com about abortion safety. This follows this post about Ted Cruz! For two very interesting books click HERE.
Please follow me here.

When the Supreme Court tossed out certain provisions of a Texas abortion safety law earlier this year, in Whole Women’s Health v. Hellerstedt, it did so without considering egregious conditions that exist in Texas abortion facilities, which prompted the passage of the contested legislation in the first place.

Operation Rescue now has evidence in the form of public documents that proves 16 of 17 Texas abortion facilities miserably failed recent health and safety inspections conducted by the Department of State Health Services between August 2015 and June 2016. This information shows that Texas abortion facilities continue to pose a significant danger to the lives and health of women.
The most recent inspection reports for each Texas abortion facility were obtained from the Texas Department of State Health Services in response to Operation Rescue’s Freedom of Information Act request.
“As far as I know, these inspection deficiency reports were never submitted to the Supreme Court’s consideration. The reports show us that more oversight is needed for abortion facilities, not less,” said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue. “We expect conditions at Texas abortion facilities will continue to deteriorate in the wake of the Supreme Court’s errant ruling that protects abortion businesses and their sloppy, corners-cutting practices above the health and welfare of women and their babies.”
Of the 17 surgical abortion facilities in Texas that require licensing, eight are licensed as “Ambulatory Surgical Centers.” These clinics are required to meet stricter standards than the remaining nine facilities, which are licensed simply as “Abortion Facilities.”
Annual Inspections
In Texas, Ambulatory Surgical Centers and Abortion Facilities are required to submit to annual inspections. However, they do not appear to be required to pass the inspections in order to be licensed or have their licenses renewed.
Facilities are required to submit a plan of correction, but of the 17 inspection reports obtained by Operation Rescue, there is no evidence that any follow-up visit ever took place to ensure the often egregious violations were ever corrected.
Infection Control Failures
Of particular concern was a failure in 13 out of 17 facilities to ensure infection control protocols were developed and implemented to provide a sanitary environment and prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
Proper hand washing by staff, considered among the most basic and common-sense infection control measures, was an issue at several facilities. Inspectors observed clinic staff failing to wash their hands before and after the use of gloves, as required. This was particularly disturbing when the failure occurred after involvement in bloody abortion procedures, and after handling aborted baby remains.
Critical areas in many clinics were found to be unclean and/or covered with a layer of dust and debris. But it was the failure of staff to understand or practice proper sterilization techniques for surgical instruments used on women during abortions that was particularly disturbing. This had the potential to negatively impact the health of every patient that received an abortion, and in some cases, every patient that walked through the facility door.
In 10 out of 17 facilities, protocols involving testing and maintenance of the autoclave, where surgical instruments are sterilized, were not followed. There was an absence of testing in several facilities to ensure there were no biological contaminants in the autoclave or whether it reached a sufficient temperature to complete sterilization. In other cases, peel pouches that were to hold the sterilized instruments were not properly sealed.
In one facility, Southwestern Women’s Surgery Center in Dallas, tape was used to close the so-called “sterile” pouches, which were too small for the instruments they held.
This means that unsterile, contaminated surgical implements and supplies are being used on women during abortions at facilities in Texas today. This has left women subject to the spread of disease and infections.
As evidence that such infections occurred, at least one facility, the Women’s Center of Houston, was cited for the way they handled post-operative infections, which appeared to occur on a regular basis.
Overall Slothful Sanitation Practices
Citations were also issued for serious violations that existed for years, despite certification that each facility meet licensing requirements.
Some facilities had medications and supplies available for patient use that had expired years before. Others lacked policies and procedures that should have been in place prior to licensing, which were related to staff training, infection control training and protocols, and testing employees for infectious diseases such as tuberculosis and Hepatitis B.
One facility, the Suburban Women’s Center on Red Oak Drive in Houston, had a Medical Director who said he did not know his staff needed to be tested for tuberculosis and Hepatitis B, leaving patients at risk of having these diseases transmitted to them by untested staff.
That same Medical Director signed off on minutes to mandatory quarterly quality control meetings that only he attended, leaving doubt about how seriously he takes quality control. Based on the violations cited at his abortion facility, quality control appears non-existent.
He was also caught with a bottle of Morphine Sulfate in his unlocked desk drawer. He told inspectors that he opened one bottle each month and used it on several patients, but his story did not ring true. The bottle was labeled for single use. It contained no anti-microbial preservative and should have been discarded after one usage.
Other violations of note within the reports included:
• Failure to post required information where complaints could be filed against the facility. (Planned Parenthood in Dallas & Austin)
• Failure to report child abuse on a minor patient (Austin Women’s Health Center)
• Failure to observe waiting periods (Hilltop Women’s Reproductive Clinic & Reproductive Services)
• Call button for use by patients was placed out of reach of anyone who suffered a fall. (Planned Parenthood in Dallas)
• Failure to examine women prior to surgical procedures. (Planned Parenthood in Dallas & Ft. Worth, Southwestern Women’s Surgical Center)
• Cracked and/or contaminated vaginal ultrasound probe. (Hilltop Women’s Reproductive Clinic & Suburban Women’s Clinic)
• Cross-contamination of instruments/supplies with aborted baby remains. (Houston Women’s Clinic & Whole Women’s Health in San Antonio)
Need for Licensing Reform
Despite conditions and practices that are reminiscent of Kermit Gosnell’s Philadelphia “House of Horrors” abortion facility, the 16 Texas abortion facilities that failed inspections still qualified for licensing.
It is now obvious that regulatory reforms are needed to protect women from the serious health dangers posed by Texas abortion facilities. Abortion facilities should be required not only to submit to inspections, but also pass them before Ambulatory Surgical Facility or Abortion Facility licenses are issued or renewed. If the facility cannot comply, its ability to conduct abortion should be suspended for safety reasons.
It may have been beneficial for the Supreme Court Justices to have reviewed the inspection documents prior to declaring common-sense safety provisions to be an undue burden. It appears the Supreme Court’s undue burden referred to slovenly abortion businesses that complain about having to clean up. However, for women, those provisions were far from burdensome; they were protection. In fact, they were the only layer of protection they had from unsafe conditions and practices that continue to endanger them at Texas abortion facilities today – including Whole Women’s Health, the abortion business that challenged the constitutionality of Texas abortion safety law.
“It is troubling that in the wake of the Hellerstedt decision, the mainstream media continues their propaganda campaign to convince the public that abortion facilities are clean, safe, and in no need of regulation or oversight, when nothing could be further from the truth,” said Newman. “The indisputable facts are evident in the inspection records, and those facts are ugly enough to make a Billy goat puke.”
Operation Rescue has been raising the alarm about the dangers of Texas abortion facilities for years. In 2011, Operation Rescue conducted a random investigation of Texas abortion facilities that exposed serious health concerns that resulted in fines and disciplinary action against two Whole Women’s Health abortion facilities and two of their abortionists.
In 2013, Operation Rescue brought to light accusations made by former clinic workers against Douglas Karpen, a Houston abortionist, which were supported by photographic documentation. The women claimed Karpen was committing murder by twisting the necks of babies born alive during illegal late-term abortions. While a grand jury controlled by a corrupt district attorney with close ties to Karpen’s attorney failed to indict him, but the media attention on the Gosnell-life horrors contributed to the passage of HB2, the law that was considered in the Hellerstedt decision.
The chart below lists the name of each abortion facility and categories of violations that were recently discovered there. Below the chart are summaries of violations found in the inspection reports for each facility, along with links to the documents themselves.

The Biblical Feast of Trumpets Foretelling 'the Day of the Lord'

An interesting article from http://www.ucg.org/ about the Feast of Trumpets. This follows this post about control of the Internet. For a free magazine subscription or to get the books recommended for free click HERE! or call 1-888-886- 8632.

Every autumn the Jewish community observes a holiday called Rosh Hashanah (meaning “head of the year,” because it begins the Jewish civil year). This is a biblical festival, known in Scripture as Yom Teruah, the Day of Trumpets, because the Israelites were to blow trumpets on that day (Leviticus 23:24). A shofar, or ram’s horn, is blown calling the faithful to 10 days of repentance culminating in another biblical festival, Yom Kippur or the Day of Atonement.
Most Christians find little meaning in these days, but could they hold an important message for you and your future?
In ancient Israel the shofar was blown for various reasons, including a call to war. Jewish leaders in the first century had to take care when they blew the shofar on the Feast of Trumpets so that the occupying Roman soldiers didn’t think a rebellion was being launched.
The Bible speaks of a time before Christ’s return when the earth will be engulfed in war, famine, disease epidemics, earthquakes and other colossal disasters. This era, called “the great tribulation” (Revelation 7:14; Matthew 24:21), will bring humanity to the brink of total destruction—necessitating God’s promised intervention in human affairs.
The period of God’s intervention is called “the day of the Lord.” It is also a time known for the blowing of trumpets.

The prophetic Day of the Lord

The Day of the Lord includes a series of cataclysmic events leading up to the return of Jesus Christ and His forceful suppression of humanity’s rebellion against God.
It’s important to understand that prophecies concerning the Day of the Lord can at times have a former and later fulfillment. What that means is that the messages of the ancient prophets applied in part to the people to whom they were preaching, but many of these prophecies also refer to a future time when God will intervene in the affairs of mankind—a time that is yet to occur.
Many references to the Day of the Lord in the biblical books of Isaiah and Joel refer to punishment God poured out on ancient Israel and Judah. But when reading these prophecies, and comparing them with historical information, it is clear that they are dual in nature and were only partially fulfilled. These verses primarily look to the future when God will pour out His judgment on an unrepentant humanity before the second coming of the Messiah.
This may not be a popular message in today’s environment of feel-good religion, but, as we always do on Good News Radio and in our publications, we turn to the Bible as the Word of God in our search for truth.
Many centuries ago, the prophet Zechariah was inspired to write: “Behold, the day of the Lord is coming, and your spoil will be divided in your midst. For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem; the city shall be taken, the houses rifled, and the women ravished. Half of the city shall go into captivity, but the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
“Then the Lord will go forth and fight against those nations, as He fights in the day of battle. And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two …” (Zechariah 14:1-4).

God’s future intervention

God is a God of love and mercy. But He is also a just and righteous God who doesn’t compromise with evil. Instead of repenting and acknowledging their Creator, most of humanity has been snubbing their collective noses at Him in a pretense of religion and suffering the consequences. But a time is coming when He will intervene by sending Jesus Christ to rule over the nations and save us from ourselves.
Many Old and New Testament prophecies describe the coming Day of the Lord, including those of the seven trumpets in Revelation 8-11. They create a composite picture of a time of blowing of trumpets, a time of catastrophic war, and a time when all nations will be brought together to be judged by God.
The Feast of Trumpets contains an important message for Christians. In fact, it is the most important news on the globe today. It heralds the gospel’s emphasis on repentance and judgment, the warning blasts of the shofar, the Day of the Lord and the proclamation that the Messiah is returning to establish God’s Kingdom on the earth.
Jesus Himself makes a key statement in His Mount Olivet prophecy recorded in Matthew 24: “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
“Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other” (Matthew 24:29-31).
Notice that the return of Jesus Christ is accompanied by the sound of a trumpet.
The apostle Paul encourages Christians to keep the coming Day of the Lord in mind. He writes to the church in Thessalonica: “For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, ‘Peace and safety!’ then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.
“But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night.
“But let us who are of the day be sober … For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him” (1 Thessalonians 5:2-10).
Indeed, the resurrection of the saints to reign with Christ in glory will come at the sounding of the last trumpet (1 Corinthians 15:51-52; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).
The prophesied Day of the Lord is coming. The trumpet will sound, the saints will be raised from the grave and Jesus Christ will return to establish His Father’s Kingdom on the earth. The Feast of Trumpets isn’t just for the Jewish people. It is a very special day for all those who wait for the Messiah.

Editorial: Will the NFL be a Debate Topic?

Editorial

As we know, the NFL's viewing ratings have dropped substantially due to their players insulting the viewing audience. If it was a "freedom of conscience" issue, then those who support the police, such as when the Dallas Cowboys wanted to put a tribute sticker on their helmets, would also be allowed. This bias shows what the real issue in sports is.

Contrast this with what happened to Steve Clevenger in MLB. His pro-police comments caused him to be suspended indefinitely and that was also due to "freedom of conscience" on his part.

Therefore, the real issue is towing the politically correct line in sports. Contact the presidential candidates and the debate moderators and ask for their take on all this!

Ted Cruz Endorses Donald Trump: “If Hillary Wins Our Country is Devastated, I Have to Stop That”

An interesting story from www.lifenews.com about Ted Cruz! This follows this post about defunding Planned Parenthood. For two very interesting books click HERE.
Please follow me here.

Former Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz made it official today and endorsed Donald Trump for president. Cruz announced the endorsement in a post on  his Facebook page:

This election is unlike any other in our nation’s history. Like many other voters, I have struggled to determine the right course of action in this general election.
In Cleveland, I urged voters, “please, don’t stay home in November. Stand, and speak, and vote your conscience, vote for candidates up and down the ticket whom you trust to defend our freedom and to be faithful to the Constitution.”
After many months of careful consideration, of prayer and searching my own conscience, I have decided that on Election Day, I will vote for the Republican nominee, Donald Trump.
I’ve made this decision for two reasons. First, last year, I promised to support the Republican nominee. And I intend to keep my word.
Second, even though I have had areas of significant disagreement with our nominee, by any measure Hillary Clinton is wholly unacceptable — that’s why I have always been #NeverHillary.
The Supreme Court will be critical in preserving the rule of law. And, if the next administration fails to honor the Constitution and Bill of Rights, then I hope that Republicans and Democrats will stand united in protecting our fundamental liberties.
Our country is in crisis. Hillary Clinton is manifestly unfit to be president, and her policies would harm millions of Americans. And Donald Trump is the only thing standing in her way.
A year ago, I pledged to endorse the Republican nominee, and I am honoring that commitment. And if you don’t want to see a Hillary Clinton presidency, I encourage you to vote for him.
SIGN THE PLEDGE: I Pledge to Vote for a Pro-Life Candidate for President
The biggest issue for pro-life voters this election is the future of the Surpeme Court and that’s Cruz’s first reason for supporting Trump.
Six key policy differences inform my decision. First, and most important, the Supreme Court. For anyone concerned about the Bill of Rights — free speech, religious liberty, the Second Amendment — the Court hangs in the balance. I have spent my professional career fighting before the Court to defend the Constitution. We are only one justice away from losing our most basic rights, and the next president will appoint as many as four new justices. We know, without a doubt, that every Clinton appointee would be a left-wing ideologue. Trump, in contrast, has promised to appoint justices “in the mold of Scalia.”
For some time, I have been seeking greater specificity on this issue, and today the Trump campaign provided that, releasing a very strong list of potential Supreme Court nominees — including Sen. Mike Lee, who would make an extraordinary justice — and making an explicit commitment to nominate only from that list. This commitment matters, and it provides a serious reason for voters to choose to support Trump.
Pro-life voters also strongly oppose abortion-funding Obamacare that also rations health care. That’s also the second most important issue for Cruz and another reason to back Trump.
Second, Obamacare. The failed healthcare law is hurting millions of Americans. If Republicans hold Congress, leadership has committed to passing legislation repealing Obamacare. Clinton, we know beyond a shadow of doubt, would veto that legislation. Trump has said he would sign it.
“If Clinton wins, we know — with 100% certainty — that she would deliver on her left-wing promises, with devastating results for our country,” Cruz concluded. “My conscience tells me I must do whatever I can to stop that.

Donald Trump Calls for Defunding Planned Parenthood: “I Am Committed to Defunding It”

An interesting story from www.lifenews.com about defunding Planned Parenthood. This follows this post about the use of Zika to fund Planned Parenthood.  For two very interesting books click HERE.
Please follow me here.

In a new letter today outlining pro-life policy specifics, Donald Trump announced support for defunding the Planned Parenthood abortion business if it does not stop killing unborn children in abortion. Since the abortion corporation has no intention of doing so, Trump believes federal taxpayer dollars should not flow to it.
Trump today has issued a call to make permanent the Hyde Amendment that bans almost all federal taxpayer funding of abortions and is credited with saving the lives of over 1 million Americans from abortion. In that call is also a request for defunding Planned Parenthood — which stands in stark contrast to the essentially joint campaign Hillary Clinton and the abortion corporation are running for president. Planned Parenthood’s CEO is crisscrossing the country for Clinton and has put up $20 million for her.
The call for defunding Planned Parenthood comes in a new letter from Trump today.
“Hillary Clinton’s unwavering commitment to advancing taxpayer-funded abortion on-demand stands in stark contrast to the commitments I’ve made to advance the rights of unborn children and their mothers when elected president. I am committed to defunding Planned Parenthood as long as they continue to perform abortions and reallocating their funding to community health centers that provide comprehensive health care for women,” Trump says.
Marjorie Dannenfelser of the pro-life Susan B. Anthony List heralded Trump’s call for defunding the abortion giant.
SIGN THE PLEDGE: I Pledge to Vote for a Pro-Life Candidate for President
“Not only has Mr. Trump doubled down on his three existing commitments to the pro-life movement, he has gone a step further in pledging to protect the Hyde Amendment and the conscience rights of millions of pro-life taxpayers,” Dannenfelser said. “For a candidate to make additional commitments during a general election is almost unheard of. The contrast could not be clearer between the two tickets.”
In the document, Trump also says he plants to nominate Constitutionalist justices to the Supreme Court, signing into law a bill that would ban abortions after 20 weeks, and making the Hyde Amendment permanent.
“Your help is crucial to make this contrast clear in the minds of pro-life voters, especially those in battleground states,” the letter reads.
Recently, Trump released a well-received list of 11 potential Supreme Court nominees — a list pro-life groups hailed for having strong supporters of the Constitution. Trump also recently hired a key pro-life advocate has his domestic policy director.
If Trump is the nominee, he would present a stark contrast on abortion to pro-abortion Democrat Hillary Clinton.
Trump has specifically promised he would sign a bill as president to de-fund Planned Parenthood. In an interview with David Brody of CBN, Trump made that promise:
David Brody: “As a President Trump, if a bill came to your desk that would defund Planned Parenthood you would support that, you would sign that?”
Donald Trump: “Yes, because as long as they do the abortion I am not for funding Planned Parenthood… As long as they’re involved with abortion, as far as I’m concerned forget it, I wouldn’t fund them regardless. I would defund Planned Parenthood because of their view and the fact of their work on abortion…. I am for defunding Planned Parenthood as long as they are involved with abortion.”
As far as Trump’s comments on Planned Parenthood funding are concerned, Trump has fairly consistently said he opposes taxpayer funding but he’s also made some remarks about the “good things” Planned Parenthood does that have alarmed pro-life voters — as if any “good thing” could make up for the fact that planned Parenthood kills 330,000 unborn babies a year in abortions and then sells their body parts for profit.
Meanwhile, Trump said he thinks the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court case that ushered in an era of 48 million abortions was “wrongly decided.” Trump said he would appoint “very good judges” who would ultimately “change it” but he opposed Roe without specifically saying it should be overturned.
Here are some of the headlines we’ve carried at LifeNews.com in recent months that provide further details on what Trump has said regarding Planned Parenthood funding:
August 4: Donald Trump: Shut Down the Federal Government to De-Fund Planned Parenthood
August 11: Donald Trump: Planned Parenthood is an “Abortion Factory”
August 17: Donald Trump: Videos of Planned Parenthood Selling Aborted Babies Were “Disgusting,” De-Fund It
August 26: Donald Trump: Planned Parenthood is an “Abortion Factory” That Sells Baby Parts Like Automobiles
October 19: Donald Trump: “Planned Parenthood Should Absolutely be De-Funded”
December 2: Donald Trump: De-Fund Planned Parenthood and “Look Carefully at” Overturning Roe v. Wade
December 22: Donald Trump: Unless Planned Parenthood Stops Doing Abortions, We Should De-Fund It

Springtime For Pundits–The “Trump Is Hitler Smear” Deconstructed

Slander: Liberal Lies About the American RightIf you’re into self-dramatization, Donald Trump’s candidacy is perfect for you.
Half of the Washington political class is vowing to vote for Hillary–even Stalin!–over Trump; psychologists (and massage therapists) report they are treating patients for “Trump anxiety”; lengthy thought-pieces on Trump have no room to mention his signature issue, immigration, but get prolix on George Wallace, Mussolini and Hitler. (Never Mao, Stalin or Lenin, curiously.)
You’re going to have to act quickly if you hope to be among the first 200 princesses to feel the pea under 15 layers of mattresses.
To save you time, I will provide the prototype. Do not be surprised if the following turns up, word for word, under the byline of David Brooks, Stephen Hayes, Cokie Roberts, every single writer for Salon, Gawker, National Review, Commentary and The Huffington Post. And then, of course, Fareed Zakaria will steal it.

“J’accuse Donald Trump”
Watching the candidacy of Donald Trump, I am continually struck by his resemblance to a man who came to power in a far-off land nearly 85 years ago, a historical epic that I had naively hoped was well buried in the past.
Consider the following:
  • Adolf Hitler held gigantic rallies, where he inspired millions with rousing speeches. Donald Trump holds gigantic rallies, where he inspires millions with rousing speeches.
  • Adolf Hitler talked about making his country great again. Donald Trump talks about making his country great again.
  • Adolf Hitler promised military victories. Donald Trump promises military victories.
  • Adolf Hitler had a loyal and overweight henchman, Hermann Goering. Donald Trump has a loyal and overweight henchman, Chris Christie.
  • Adolf Hitler blamed a specific group of immigrants for all the nation’s problems (Ed: Jews weren’t immigrants — Close enough!). Donald Trump blames a specific group of immigrants for all the nation’s problems.
  • Adolf Hitler vowed to build a wall (Ed: Wait a minute — when did Hitler talk about a wall? Shhhh! Nevermind!) Donald Trump vows to build a wall.
  • Adolf Hitler was a teetotaler. Donald Trump is a teetotaler.
  • (JPEG Image, 1160 × 629 pixels) - Scaled (77%)Adolf Hitler had a hobby that he enjoyed very much (painting). Donald Trump has a hobby that he enjoys very much (golf).
  • Adolf Hitler had an opulent home in the city as well as a country home, “The Berghof” in Berchtesgaden. Donald Trump has an opulent home in the city as well as a country home, “Mar-a-Lago” in Palm Beach.
  • Adolf Hitler was involved with a woman from Central Europe, Eva Braun. Donald Trump is married to a woman from Central Europe, Melania Knauss.
  • Adolf Hitler had a pact with the Soviet Union from 1939 to 1941; Donald Trump said nice things about Russian president Vladimir Putin.
  • CNN-Trump-Rally-Hands-RaisedAdolf Hitler required all non-Jewish, German civilians to greet one another with a rigid right-arm salute, while exclaiming “Heil!” or “Heil Hitler!” Donald Trump has asked audiences to promise to vote for him by raising their hands, which is the PRECISELY same thing.
  • Adolf Hitler was a vegetarian; Donald Trump has never smoked.
  • Adolf Hitler forcibly annexed Czechoslovakia. Donald Trump tried to merge two casinos in Atlantic City.
  • Adolf Hitler invested hundreds of millions of dollars on German aviation to upgrade the Luftwaffe. Donald Trump has invested hundreds of millions of dollars in private jets.
  • Adolf Hitler never had any children, but if he had, they would probably have been blond. Both of Donald Trump’s daughters are blond.
  • Adolf Hitler’s favorite food was liver dumplings, a dish very similar to meatloaf. (Ed: They’re not remotely similar. No one knows that.) Donald Trump’s favorite food is meatloaf.
  • Adolf Hitler had light hair and a moustache. Donald Trump has light hair and a moustache. (This has not been definitively established, but some who knew Trump in the 1970s recall that he had a moustache, albeit a fuller, longer one.)
  • One of Adolf Hitler’s idols was World War I fighter pilot Manfred von Richthofen, also known as “the Red Baron.” Donald Trump’s son is named Barron. (It’s spelled differently, but sounds the same.)
  • Adolf Hitler liked Eva Braun because she was very attractive; Donald Trump’s wife, Melania, is very attractive.
  • Adolf Hitler vowed to exterminate entire races; Donald Trump has vowed to exterminate ALL Mexicans and Central Americans. (Mr. Trump has yet to call for this, but if he had, it would be an amazing parallel and speak very ill of his character.)
  • One of Adolf Hitler’s favorite desserts, not his No. 1 favorite, but one he enjoyed several times a year, was chocolate ice cream. Donald Trump has talked about formerly liking Oreos. (Recently, he vowed never to eat Oreos again because Nabisco moved its factories to Mexico. This does not negate his previous position on the cookie.)
  • Adolf Hitler was known for erecting concentration camps – surrounded by walls to keep people out, particularly Mexicans. (Ed: That’s not true.) Donald Trump wants to build a wall.
  • Allowing Adolf Hitler to come to power was a horrible mistake for an entire nation; allowing Donald Trump to come to power will be a horrible mistake for an entire nation.
In conclusion, [dramatic music plays] I have covered American politics for 30 years. For the first time in my life I am afraid for my country. Very afraid. Very, very afraid. Very, very, very afraid.

Where is the "Safe Space" for Conservatives in Public?

A timely post from http://www.yaf.org about the Ben Shapiro speech. This follows this previous post about censorship of conservative speakers. This follows this post about the Supreme Court. This follows this post about the NBA. This follows this post about rap songs referencing Donald Trump.

Reston, VA— Today, leftists at CSULA led a violent effort to censor Ben Shapiro, the only conservative speaker that has visited their campus in recent memory. This is a profound and sobering moment for our country. We are tragically witnessing the end result of decades of unchallenged liberal coddling of students on campuses across the country. This is the tipping point.
American college campuses have spiraled so out of control that the president of a public university canceled his own students' approved event- violating their First Amendment rights- and a mob of protestors, led by his professors, violently blocked the entrance to Ben Shapiro's speech sponsored by CSULA's Young Americans for Freedom chapter and Young America's Foundation's Fred R. Allen Lecture Series. This mob pushed, shoved, and verbally assaulted police and conservative students who were simply attempting to attend a speech by a prominent author.

We are enormously proud of our Young Americans for Freedom students who stood strong, refused to allow their event to be canceled, and risked their safety to attend Ben Shapiro's lecture today.

President Covino, his entire administration, and administrators on campuses everywhere need to be held accountable. Young America's Foundation will pursue all legal options to do so.

  • Please, PLEASE pursue all legal options. What happened today was shocking and saddening.
