Secure in Gold?

An interesting article from http://www.ucg.org/ about buying gold as a hedge against the dollar and other paper currency. This follows this post about the war between Russia and Chechnya. For a free magazine subscription or to get the book shown  for free click HERE! or call 1-888-886-8632.

Secure in Gold

The price of gold has dropped hundreds of dollars? Why should it matter?

[Steve Myers] Gold is in the news today because the prices are dropping. If you think back a number of years ago in the year 2000, gold was trading for about $272 an ounce. Up until just recently, gold had gotten to $1900 an ounce. Now you might say, "Okay, what's the problem with that?" The problem is the dollar then becomes devalued. Can the United States government afford for gold to be that expensive? The answer is no because what happens then is countries are going to move away from the dollar and trading in dollars and move to other currencies. And we've seen that lately. We've seen that Australia wants to move away from the dollar. Certainly Russia wants to move away, China. And that creates a major economic problem. And so the United States has been getting the help of other countries to help prop up the dollar as well. And so it seems there is definitely a connection between the value of the gold and the value of the dollar. So the United States needs gold to trade for a lot less than that $1900. So could that be part of the reason that gold is dropping?

Now of course that's only a temporary thing because people are trying to find out, "Well, what should I put my hope in? Should I put it in gold? What should I put my trust in? I want my own personal economics to prosper." You see, that's an issue. And there is a spiritual connection I think as well. You know, is gold the answer? Is gold going to save you? And of course we know it is not. Gold cannot, physical things cannot. And so it reminded me of an amazing Psalm. Psalm 9:9The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.

See All... and here's what it says, "The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble." You see gold is not going to be the refuge. When you see what Psalm 9 says, it's the ultimate reminder. A physical thing is not where to put our trust. Psalm 9:10And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

See All... says, "Those who know Your name will put their trust in You." So you see the ultimate trust belongs in God and what He can do. It says, "You Lord will not forsake those who seek You." So if they want to forsake the dollar and move to gold that's one thing. But you know if we begin to put our faith and trust in the dollar or in gold or in any other physical thing, we're in trouble. So remember where to put your trust. Ultimately God says our trust must be in Him.

That's BT Daily . We'll see you next time.
