This article is both an awareness of why a war might happen in South America and also shows that some of the anti-war protestors in the world are only anti-American, but when nations like Venezuela meddle in other country's affairs, there is little if any protest directed at them. Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez is threatening to invade neighboring Colombia after he gave $300 million to murderous drug-trafficking Marxist rebels. On March 15-19 2008, the international Left is threatening to hold their annual "anti-war" rallies. Will they condemn the fascistic regime of Hugo Chavez? Not likely. Progressives don't oppose wars started by socialist dictators. Their idea of "peace" was best expressed by Karl Marx: "Peace is the absence of opposition to socialism."
