Indiana's Religious freedom law decried

An interesting article from http://www.ucg.org/ about Religious Freedom. This follows this post about the police.  For a free magazine subscription or to get the books recommended for free click HERE! or call 1-888-886- 8632.

This liberty is supposed to be protected under the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, but activist judges have reinterpreted the Constitution to suit their own values with the approval of a broad sector of society. Those adhering to traditional Christian morality are labeled as practicing “hate” and are increasingly persecuted through legal action. Thus the new law.
In fact, RFRA is a federal law passed by Congress in 1993 and signed by President Bill Clinton that was intended to cover federal, state and local government. However, the Supreme Court ruled in 1997 that the law only applied at the federal level. This led individual states over the years since to pass their own RFRAs. Indiana is just the latest of 21 states that have done so (and 11 other states have similar provisions through state court decisions rather than legislation).
Indiana’s bill more directly came about after the nationally debated Hobby Lobby case in which the company sought to be exempt from having to provide employees with insurance coverage for abortion-inducing drugs under President Barack Obama’s health-care law. (Thankfully the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Hobby Lobby in that case.)
Furthermore, the Indiana legislation came on the heels of various courts forcing businesses to cater to gay weddings and the like—and the law was seen by some as a way to guard against that.
Not surprisingly, Indiana’s RFRA was swiftly denounced by liberal politicians and interest groups, particularly gay rights activists, as a “license to discriminate.” Various others then began to pile on against the law to escape the stigma of appearing to favor discrimination—and Indiana officials went into damage control.
In an op-ed in The Wall Street Journal, Indiana’s Republican Governor Mike Pence said: “I abhor discrimination. I believe in the Golden Rule that you should ‘do unto others as you would have them do unto you.’ If I saw a restaurant owner refuse to serve a gay couple, I wouldn’t eat there anymore. As governor of Indiana, if I were presented a bill that legalized discrimination against any person or group, I would veto it. Indiana’s new law contains no reference to sexual orientation. It simply mirrors federal law that President Bill Clinton signed in 1993” (“Ensuring Religious Freedom in Indiana,” March 31, 2015) .
Many conservatives were disappointed that Governor Pence ended up signing a “clarification bill,” approving changes to the law “amid fears that it would allow discrimination against lesbians and gays” (Associated Press, April 2).
Speaking on CBS News’ program Face the Nation, former U.S. Senator Rick Santorum issued this answer to those on the left who say religious freedom laws just let businesses discriminate against homosexuals: “‘Tolerance is a two-way street. If you’re a print shop and you are a gay man, should you be forced to print ‘God Hates … [a derogatory term for gays]’ for the Westboro Baptist Church because they hold those signs up? … Should the government—and this is really the case here—should the government force you to do that?” (April 5, 2015). Obviously not. Likewise the government should not be able to compel Christian business owners to support what they consider immoral.
As society drifts farther from God, we can expect the persecution of those advocating biblical morality to increase. (Sources: Associated Press, CBS News, The Wall Street Journal. )

Editorial: Do Police deserve Due Process?...And Freedom of Speech??

Editorial

As you know, there have been demonstrations against police shootings, most recently in Minnesota and Louisiana. The only evidence has been video feed which was repeatedly shown on TV to incite demonstrations, protests, and, in Dallas, five murders. The two police in Minnesota and Louisiana haven't been convicted of anything, but are being subjected to being presumed guilty by mobs around the U.S. Where is their due process?

In addition, in the city of El Paso, the chief of police, Greg Allen, has bravely attempted to get a handle on the source of some of these murders, but he also is not being given due process. His courage in his statements, knowing that he would receive backlash from the intolerant, shows how dedicated he is to solving these problems.

The #WarOnCops continues to show that #CopLivesMatter, and #BlueLivesMatter are more important than ever!

Child Sacrifice We're Not So Different Today

An interesting article from http://www.ucg.org/ about child sacrifice. This follows this post about mob attacks. This follows this post about Facebook and Transgendered people. For a free magazine subscription or to get the books recommended for free click HERE! or call 1-888-886- 8632.

In the lands of the Middle East and areas around the Mediterranean Sea, this involved the ritual murder of children, often in fire and presided over by a priesthood with the approval of the worshippers.
A child could be placed on an open fire or into an open burning chasm of a metal idol representing gods such as Baal or Molech. Done to appease a god and to gain favor for an abundant harvest, victory in battle or the defeat of one's enemies, these cruel acts litter the ancient world.
One well-known cemetery, full of the bones of thousands of infant sacrifices, has been found at the site of ancient Carthage in North Africa. Burials of infant bones and skulls with signs of violent death have been unearthed. Sadly, even the Bible tells of a time in the biblical kingdom of Judah when child sacrifice was carried out in Jerusalem under certain kings.
Any modern nation that chooses to commit child sacrifice in the name of “pro-choice,” “family planning” or “abortion rights” should learn a lesson from these examples. The lesson is this: Any culture or people that has participated in child sacrifice has declined and disappeared from history. Ancient Carthage was destroyed by Rome. The Romans sowed salt into its land so it would never rise again. Idolatry eventually won out in Judah, and it was invaded and destroyed by Babylon—its temple razed and the people deported.
We're not so different today. While ancient people would murder their children to please a false god, modern people do the same in honor of a different kind of god—the god of self. This is a hard saying, but it is the truth. The unborn are slaughtered in the millions when they interfere with the pursuit of selfish pleasure and the gods of convenience.

Editorial: Battlezone California!!! ***UPDATED***

Editorial

As we ALL saw last week, the so-called "tolerant" LEFT attacked those they disagreed with with eggs, fists, cones, and other unreported objects denying the rights of Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Assembly to Trump Supporters.

Maybe Donald Trump might pick one of these victims to be his vice-president, after all, if someone takes an egg for you, or is bloodied up for you, then that does show they are devoted to you!

However, in regards to these attackers, where is the "tolerance" that they claim to have? Where is the "diversity" of different ideas? Where is the "multiculturalism" towards the culture of their political opponents? Where is the "safe space" Trump supporters deserve? And when will the "microagressions" from the news media's coverage stop??!!

To review what happened, look at these stories:

Top 10 PC Campus Offenses of 2015

Top 10 PC Campus Offenses of 2015
 top10pc15
Any American who follows the news knows that it's been an historic year for campus controversies. From the Mizzou protests to the proliferation of safe spaces to mandatory sensitivity trainings, in 2015 the PC Police were more active than ever on our nation's campuses, continuing their efforts to suffocate students' rights to free speech and open debate.
Take a look back at some of this year's most egregious offenses and share the list to help us spread the word and fight back in 2016.
10.  American University Instructs Students to Introduce Themselves by “Gender Pronoun” at Orientation, UTK Issues Bizarre Pronoun Guide
At American University's freshmen orientation this August, students were instructed to introduce themselves by name, hometown, and "gender pronoun."
When AU freshman Tristan Justice, a Young Americans for Freedom leader, questioned this instruction, his orientation leader responded, "Here at AU, we don’t like to make assumptions about people’s gender."
Justice told The New Guard, "Despite being informed that American University was a very liberal campus, I went to orientation with high hopes that it wasn’t as bad as it sounded, but I was wrong."
Tristan’s story was covered by outlets including Fox News and The Drudge Report, bringing the proliferation of this radically progressive ritual to the attention of a national audience.
At the same time, the University of Tennessee’s decision to issue a bizarre guide to gender pronouns like “ze” and “zir” was also making big headlines. The school’s Young Americans for Freedom chapter pushed back by publishing a viral video that showed their peers struggling to even pronounce the words in the guide. Soon after, their school removed the guide from its website.

9. Duke University Broadcasts Muslim Call to Prayer
In an initiative to promote religious pluralism, Duke University decided last January to broadcast the Muslim call to prayer every Friday on campus from the Chapel bell tower.
After pressure from Young America’s Foundation, whose spokeswoman Ashley Pratte reported extensively on the story on Fox News, other conservative leaders, and thousands of concerned parents, students, and alumni, Duke canceled the initiative.

8. Students Vote to Remove Chick-Fil-A From Campus
In January, students at Indiana University voted 18-9 to remove Chick-Fil-A from its Bloomington campus, based on concerns over the company's views on same-sex marriage.  But in the same meeting the Residence Hall Association voted unanimously to support and establish a residence hall floor for gender blind housing for those who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender.
The school’s Young Americans for Freedom chapter leader Andrew Ireland was interviewed about the decision by Elizabeth Hasselbeck on Fox & Friends, where he noted this was a giant double standard. Ireland remarked, “[The vote] was an act of discrimination against a worldview.”
Political correctness is coming for your chicken.

7. High School Principle Seizes Mic to Dismiss Students During YAF Lecture, Says Shapiro “Crossed a Line”
In front of a capacity crowd of more than 450 students, an Otay Ranch High School administrator dismissed students from conservative powerhouse Ben Shapiro’s speech, which was organized by the school’s Young Americans for Freedom chapter and sponsored by Young America’s Foundation, after telling the audience Shapiro’s conservative beliefs “crossed a line” earlier this December.
The administrator’s actions were caught on camera and can be seen at the :44 second mark in the video below.
The administrator seized the microphone from a student during the Q&A session to dismiss the enthusiastic audience after he objected to Shapiro’s conservative outlook on poverty. The audience cand be heard booing their teacher on video, with one student saying “I want to stay!”
More proof that students are conditioned to oppose conservative ideas before they even get to college.

6. University of California Board of Regents Considers Restrictive Speech Code
As debates over free speech intensified at campuses across the country, the University of California system considered adopting an exceptionally restrictive speech code in the fall of 2015. The policy encouraged students to report “derogatory language reflecting stereotypes or prejudice” as speech that was in violation of the code, among other things.
The process ignited a fierce debate in California and in the national media, exemplifying the troubling trend of unconstitutional restrictions on exercises of First Amendment rights on American campuses.
Of all places, the UC system should have a strong respect for free speech since the movement began at Berkeley fifty years ago.
While the policy was rejected, California bureaucrats like Janet Napolitano will likely continue their efforts to crack down on students’ rights to free expression.

5. Christina Hoff Sommers’ Speech Combated with ‘Safe Spaces’
When it was announced that widely respected conservative feminist Christina Hoff Sommers would be giving a lecture at Georgetown University sponsored by the Clare Boothe Luce Policy Institute, the school’s feminist community was outraged. They claimed Sommers’ insistence upon questioning false statistics about sexual assault amounted to “hate speech” and was “triggering” for students on campus.
Students set up “safe spaces” where anybody who felt unsafe because of Dr. Sommers’ words could seek shelter—they held signs in the back of the lecture hall redirecting attendees who became endangered by Dr. Sommers’ “hate speech.”
After the event, Georgetown requested that CBLPI take down their video of the lecture. In response, Luce Institute president Michelle Easton remarked, “Could it be that the University is trying to conceal the embarrassing behavior and declarations of its feminist students at our lecture? Dr. Sommers‘ lecture was a public event, and the camera was in plain view. Surely the University understands that.”
This event brought the proliferation of  “safe spaces” to national attention, shedding light on the Left’s new strategy to further isolate college students in bubbles of progressivism and eliminate conservative speech from campus completely.

4. GW YAF Threatened with Defunding, Called Violent and Hateful for Resisting Sensitivity Training
The George Washington University’s YAF chapter had no idea how much controversy they would cause by simply suggesting the university provide a religious exemption for students who wanted to opt out of recently mandated sensitivity training. But after their peers found out they had resisted the student government’s mandated reeducation camps, other student organizations demanded they be defunded, compared them to ISIS and cancer, and said they had “committed an act of violence” against the transgender community.
Their story went viral, earning coverage on Fox News, The Daily Caller, Breitbart, The Washington Times, and many other outlets. Most importantly, top administrators assured students that no mandatory training would ever be held at The George Washington University. The following semester, the chapter had their highest recruiting drive in recent memory.
GW YAF’s victory for free speech drew national attention to the pervasive trend of university-mandated sensitivity training, which is typically no more than a thinly veiled effort to institutionalize leftist ideas and label conservative beliefs “hate speech.”

3. American Sniper Screening Canceled for ‘Islamophobia’
When the University of Michigan announced it would be screening the hit film American Sniper, Muslim and Middle Eastern students began circulating a petition demanding the movie be cut because of its allegedly anti-Muslim message. Students complained the film made them feel “uncomfortable” and unsafe.
The university announced it would cancel the screening of American Sniper and replace it with the children’s movie Paddington.
Michigan YAF took the lead in pushing back against the university’s decision to pull the movie. Chairman Grant Strobl called for a return to sanity as a guest on Fox News.
After being harshly criticized in the national media, and from football coach Jim Harbaugh, for their strange decision, the university announced it would indeed be showing American Sniper and called their choice to cancel it a “mistake.” Still, other schools had similar issues with the film.

2. Yale Students Riot Over Halloween Email
In recent years, Halloween has brought out the worst in our nation’s professors and university administrators. Annually, they lecture students across the country on ensuring their Halloween costumes are politically correct, inoffensive, and “microaggression”-safe. This involves discouraging students from wearing sombreros, dressing up like Pocahontas, or imitating their favorite rappers. This new push against “cultural appropriation” inspired a Yale faculty member to send students a notably calm and rational defense of politically incorrect Halloween costumes, urging students not be censored by the university, which had sent an earlier email reminding them to be “culturally aware” and sensitive.”
This one thoughtful and reasonable email set off a firestorm. Students gathered to demand an apology and a resignation for the faculty member’s failure to create a “safe space.” As he attempted to reason with them on the quad, a viral video caught the students screaming expletive-laden rants about sensitivity in his face.
In response to the uproar over “cultural appropriation” exhibited by students at Yale and across the country, Virginia Tech’s Young Americans for Freedom chapter actually staged a “Funeral for Halloween” on their campus, complete with a coffin and eulogy for the once enjoyable holiday.

1. Mizzou Turned Upside Down Over Questionable Accusations of Racism, Black Conservative Called ‘Uncle Tom’
This case is easily our country’s most high profile campus controversy in recent memory. Large-scale protests and demonstrations in early November drew reporters and camera crews from around the world to the University of Missouri campus. After the school’s football team joined with black student groups to demand the university president resign for allegedly failing to adequately address racial issues, they succeeded and Tim Wolfe stepped down.  Not satisfied, they continued to protest and demand more resignations. The protests at Mizzou spawned a spate of protests at school’s around the country that drew heavy coverage from the national media.
Unsurprisingly, many of the allegations of racism turned out to be false or wholly unsubstantiated. Students and professors were captured on tape turning journalists away and speaking out against free speech rights.
Still, one real and documented case of racism went completely ignored by the demonstrators. When Mizzou’s conservative club took Young America’s Foundation’s activism advice and defended the school’s statue of Thomas Jefferson from campus liberals who had vandalized it, Jasmine Wells, a black member of the conservative club, was called an “Uncle Tom” on social media. Not a single one of the protestors expressed any concern.
The weekend after their campus erupted into chaos, members of Mizzou’s conservative club attended Young America’s Foundation’s Fall Conference at the Reagan Ranch where they heard from conservative powerhouse Ben Shapiro. Within a day of Shapiro’s speech, Young America’s Foundation organized a free-speech oriented lecture by Shapiro on Mizzou’s campus. Hundreds of students attended the lecture in person. As of now, nearly half a million people have viewed the video online.

Graduation signals the completion of a particular level of schooling. What an accomplishment! Graduates deserve to be congratulated and honored for their achievements in receiving their diplomas or degrees.
I remember how excited we were when our girls graduated from high school. We were so proud to be sitting in the audience with hundreds of parents as we watched our daughters walk to the stage and receive their diplomas. It was another step in maturing for them.
After the graduation came the parties at our home with invited family and friends coming by to wish the graduate success in the future. What special memories we have of those events! Remember, graduation is about the accomplishments of the graduate. Be sure to celebrate him or her. You can be pleased with his or her accomplishments, but keep the focus on the graduate.
Also remember that it is an emotional time for graduates. They are torn between spending time with their parents and wanting to be with fellow graduates whom they may not see again for a very long time. Next, plan to celebrate the event appropriately by planning the graduation party with the graduate in mind. Invite the friends and relatives that he or she would want there.
Finally, accept the level to which your graduate has now advanced. He or she has made a significant achievement and needs to be recognized appropriately by letting him or her make more decisions for himself or herself. Sometimes it is difficult for parents to recognize their children are growing up, but graduation is a time to prepare to launch them into life.
Congratulations to all our graduates!

[Darris McNeely] It’s time once again to talk about something that few people like to talk about, though we need to cover it from time to time here on Beyond Today : it’s anti-Semitism. Hatred of Jews and anything Jewish, and “Death to Israel” and all these other matters that are continuing, it seems now, to be in our news, rearing its ugly head. We, a few weeks ago, did one on the massacres of the Charlie Hebdo newspaper in Paris, where they were attacked, and some of the subsequent fallout from there in Europe, dealing with attacks upon Jews, synagogues, and all things Jewish. Israel has been in the news because of the Prime Minister Netanyahu coming and speaking here in his recent reelection to another term as prime minister. And so, the role of Israel in this world, the world of Jews, and these things, anti-Semitic, are really being talked about a great deal.
This particular article is talking about anti-Semitism raising its head in recent days on some of America’s most liberal college campuses, and asking the question whether or not they are breeding anti-Semitism. Schools like UCLA in Los Angeles, or Berkeley, or Vanderbilt down in Nashville, Tennessee – another college that has had some cases of this.
Anti-Semitism is something people don’t like to talk about, but at times when it comes out in some of the most polite society and circles, people will perhaps have to admit or even express to their closest friends that they do have a problem with Jews or things Jewish, or the State of Israel, which has become kind of the Jew of the world today because of the policies there and the Palestinian situation and their perception of Israel in the League of Nations and in the world of nations today.
Look, anti-Semitism has not left us. It is alive and well, and it is something that we do need to talk about, and you and I need to understand whether or not it resides in our hearts or minds at all and how virulent a pathogen it really is, and even anti-Biblical for all the obvious reasons.
You know, a few years ago I was on a lecture in Canada, and I was talking about something in regard to prophecy but someone came up afterwards during a break and he, because I had talked about the Jews and the State of Israel in my presentation, he tried to engage me in this story that people have that the Holocaust of World War II – the genocide of the Nazis against the Jews – didn’t really happen, that six million Jews were not really killed. And I’m standing there, just aghast that someone supposedly of sane mind can believe such an idea, and would even bring that to me in that type of setting. I had just come back from Germany, from Berlin, and I had actually been at the Holocaust memorial in Berlin, that the German people have erected to the Holocaust of World War II, and I told the gentleman, “Do you think, do you really think, that modern Germany would have put their Holocaust memorial in the near proximity – almost directly over – the spot where Hitler’s bunker was at the end of World War II, in the heart of Berlin, its national capital, if they didn’t believe the Holocaust was a reality that they had to live with?” As I thought to the man, echoing the words of a line from a movie, “Go sell crazy someplace else. We’ve got enough of it here.” It’s too crazy and ridiculous of an idea. And it’s too evil of an idea for anyone to hold, but unfortunately, too many people do today. Something that if we’re not educated about, we need to be. And so that’s why we tend to talk about it here on Beyond Today , for the reasons that are important to the world scene, but also for some very, very deep spiritual reasons, as well. Think about that.

"Je Suis...?" - Violent Attacks in France - What About Our Freedom to Speak?

An interesting article from http://www.ucg.org/ about the attack in Paris. This follows this post about gay marriage. For a free magazine subscription or to get the books recommended for free click HERE! or call 1-888-886- 8632.

"Je Suis...?" - Violent Attacks in France - What About Our Freedom to Speak?

Printer-friendly version

Source: freeimages.com/Gastonmag
During a murderous attack at the offices of  Charlie Hebdo , a French publication that specializes in satire, seven staff members were killed along with others in the building and police officers. Specifically targeted were political cartoonists who had created satirical cartoons of, among others, the founder of Islam, Mohammed. Four more were killed at a grocery store in the Jewish Quarter of Paris, targeted because of their Jewish ancestry and beliefs. Another policewoman was also killed in a related incident, which made a total of seventeen people, not including the three shooters who were also, finally, killed by police. (Lori Hinnant and Angela Charlton, “French Police Detain 9 in Massive Hunt for 2 Suspects,”  Associated Press News  at APNews.MyWay.com, January 8, 2015.)
Violence, on this scale and with such obvious malice aforethought targets those who hold a differing, even derogatory opinion of a religious figure or idea. This is a violation of the concept of freedom of expression as we know it. Should this change the way  we  express ourselves?
France and the United States both traversed the painful valley of revolution at approximately the same time in the 1770’s through the 1790’s. The Republic of France went through many years of tumultuous societal turmoil and finally, in the nineteenth century, emerged with a republic form of government that, at its core, valued the right to express one’s opinions freely. For the United States the result was a nation with governing documents that secured the rights of freedom of religion and of expression, among others. Through the decades, despite struggling with how much expression is allowed, the example set by these two republics has made a precedent for the world, and we enjoy many of our enduring freedoms as a result.
While not dismissing the obvious motivations of these murders, religious hatred and violent anti-Semitism, let’s take a closer look at how we wield our freedom to express our beliefs. Certainly, other’s opinions should be respected, no matter how contrary those opinions may seem, but as true Christians, should we be inflammatory in the way we express our beliefs and antagonistic of the beliefs of others, even if we know them to be false?
The answer is yes…and no.
The book of Ecclesiastes makes a very simple statement, “To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven…,” followed later by this, “A time to keep silence, And a time to speak” (Ecclesiastes:3:1, Ecclesiastes:3:7, NKJV). There is a time to speak, and sometimes to speak with absolute firmness, even with button-pushing sarcasm. Our example: Jesus Christ.
Just before his death by crucifixion, Christ began to push the buttons of the religious leaders in Judea at that time. They were the Pharisees and Sadducees, who had departed from the core of God’s Law by, in the case of the former, adding to it, and the latter, by taking away from it. They were on the fringes of belief and were oppressing those they were leading. Christ knew that His words would make them angry, and in the case of the Pharisees, angry enough to have Him killed.
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves… Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness. Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness…” (Matthew:23:15, Matthew:23:27).
These were  highly  inflammatory words, and Christ was justified in using them because they also happened to be true. Could He have used a softer approach? Certainly, and He does so at the end of the chapter when He laments His beloved city of Jerusalem (Matthew:23:37-39). However, at this time anger and sarcasm were necessary. Christ knew His role and also knew that the leaders of the time had murder in their hearts, which needed to be visible for all to see, and as a result, He would die. And He had to, for the forgiveness of the sins of all human beings.
What about us? Does this give us free reign to run around antagonizing others of different beliefs simply because Christ did so at one point in His work? As a rule, no.
“…we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but,  speaking the truth in love , may grow up in all things into Him who is the head – Christ…” (Ephesians:4:14-15, emphasis added).
The old saying goes, “you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.” A loving approach is more palatable than a harsh, angry one. As a rule, this should be our approach to how we treat others in the Body of Christ, but also, by extension, those God may be calling in the world.
However, kindness doesn’t equal weakness. There is a time to be respectful, but firm about our beliefs and how we express them to others. The good thing is that we can call on God at any time to guide our response to others, and benefit from His wisdom, not just our own.
There is no justification for the attacks in France against the unarmed, innocent people who died simply because someone disagreed with their opinion or their ancestry. Let’s take time to digest and understand the lessons from this tragedy (and others, like the recent slaughter in the Nigerian town of Baga and the ongoing murders in Syria and Iraq), so that those lives, also, aren’t lost in vain.

Muslims worldwide sign petition to ban “blasphemous” Katy Perry video from YouTube

A very interesting post from www.jihadwatch.org about Katy Perry's video referencing Islam. This follows this post about Barack Obama's Muslim Outreach coordinator. This follows this article about American energy independence and preventing money from going to hostile countries. For more about what you can do to get more involved click here and you can read two very interesting books HERE.

Muslims worldwide sign petition to ban “blasphemous” Katy Perry video from YouTube

Another day, another Islamic assault on the freedom of speech and freedom of expression. The Islamic jihad against the freedom of speech is not being pursued by a “tiny minority of extremists,” but by huge and influential international organizations such as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, aided and abetted by U.S. Leftists and Islamic supremacists such as the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations and Reza Aslan’s Aslan Media. Now a petition against the video above has over 35,000 signatures. At some point the West is going to have to remember why the freedom of speech is important and move to protect and defend it, or submit to this tyranny and accept Sharia blasphemy restrictions. At this point, the latter option looks much more likely. And in this particular case, the smart money is on Katy Perry, an addled PC Leftist and former consort of the execrable jihad enabler Russell Brand, apologizing and editing the video to remove the Offense to Islam.
“Muslims Worldwide Sign Petition To Ban Blasphemous Katy Perry Video From YouTube (Video),” by Sarah Fruchtnicht for Opposing Views, February 25:
A petition to ban Katy Perry’s “blasphemous” music video “Dark Horse” from Youtube has more than 35,000 signatures.
Released on YouTube Feb. 20, Perry’s video, set in ancient Egypt, shows a man wearing an Allah pendant gradually disintegrating into a pile of sand.
“Such goes to show, that blasphemy is clearly conveyed in the video, since Katy Perry (who appears to be representing an opposition of God) engulfs the believer and the word God in flames,” says the Change.org petition.
“This is the reason for lodging the petition so that people from different walks of life, different religions and from different parts of the world agree that the video promotes blasphemy, using the name of God in an irrelevant and distasteful manner would be considered inappropriate by any religion,” it states.
Supporters of the ban appear to be from all over the world.
“We are Muslims and that is Allah’s name on his neck and she burns it that’s great disrespect to Islam yet these lot say we are the bad ones well hah shame on these people,” wrote Nida Ahmed of the United Kingdom.
“I am a Muslim and I find this highly disrespectful and inappropriate,” wrote Reena Mikaeel of Singapore.
