Vote on Pro-Abortion Obama Attorney General Nominee Loretta Lynch Will be Incredibly Close

National Steven Ertelt   Washington, DC

An upcoming vote on pro-abortion President Barack Obama’s Attorney General nominee Loretta Lynch that was once thought to be a runaway vote for the nominee appears as if it will be incredibly close.

According to a new Politico report, its projection is that Lynch will win nomination on a 50-50 tie with pro-abortion Vice President Joe Biden casting the deciding vote. With that in mind, pro-life advocates may have a chance to swing another vote or two into the no column and derail her nomination.
The report mentions swing votes, including Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) and Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio).

From the report:
Just days before her nomination as attorney general goes to the Senate floor, Loretta Lynch is stubbornly stuck right around 50 votes — suggesting a confirmation fight the Obama administration once seemed certain to win with relative ease will go down to the wire.
Barring an 11th-hour surprise, Lynch is likely to be confirmed. But with four GOP senators currently backing her along with unanimous support from Senate Democrats, Lynch would secure the bare minimum required to be installed as the nation’s top cop – as long as senators hauled in Vice President Joe Biden to break a tie.
Several Republican senators who could have been potential “yes” votes are signaling ahead of the confirmation vote that that they will instead vote against her…. Republican Sen. Dean Heller said in an interview that he is “leaning no” on the confirmation vote expected next week.
The confirmation showdown is set for next week. Senate Majority Leader McConnell hasn’t indicated how he will vote, though two members of his leadership team – Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn of Texas and Missouri Sen. Roy Blunt, the fifth-ranking Republican – are confirmed “no” votes.
Senate Republicans who are backing her are Orrin Hatch of Utah, Jeff Flake of Arizona, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Susan Collins of Maine.
Lynch is the nominee to replace pro-abortion Attorney General Eric Holder. Holder, who is pro-abortion and who used his post in the Obama administration to target pro-life people, announced in September he would step down from his position when a replacement has been confirmed.
During her confirmation hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Lynch admitted to pro-life Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina that she once signed onto a brief the Planned Parenthood abortion business submitted in its legal battle to overturn the Congressional ban on partial-birth abortions. The Supreme Court eventually sided against Planned Parenthood and upheld the ban on the gruesome abortion procedure.

Lynch signed on to an amicus brief in the Partial Birth Abortion case before the Supreme Court where she served as an amici in favor of Planned Parenthood. She argued that the ban against the killing of partially born children was “unconstitutionally vague and threatens the integrity of the criminal justice system.”
On April 18, 2007, the Supreme Court announced its opinion in Gonzales v. Carhart, holding that the federal Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act was constitutional. The ban has stopped as many as 15,000 such abortions.
Casey Mattox of Alliance Defending Freedom, previously wrote at LifeNews that “The Gonzales decision held that the federal ban on partial-birth abortions, except where necessary to save a woman’s life, was facially constitutional – meaning that generally speaking the ban was constitutionally sound. Opponents of the ban, including Planned Parenthood and their allies, had argued strenuously that the law was unconstitutional because it lacked a “health” exception.”

“Hours after the decision, Planned Parenthood was still warning of its imminent negative impact on women’s health,” he said. “Over five years later, Justice Ginsburg and the nation still wait. Although women’s health was allegedly immediately harmed by the decision, we have not yet seen an as-applied challenge on behalf of one of these women, nor have we seen even one documented story of a woman whose health was impacted by the unavailability of a partial-birth abortion.”
Lynch, the U.S. attorney in Brooklyn, is in her second stint as U.S. attorney in the Eastern District of New York, appointed by President Obama in 2010 and also serving in the same post from 1999 to 2001 under President Bill Clinton. She will face full confirmation in the Senate, where Republicans are in control.
Lynch would be the second woman to serve as attorney general and the second African-American to hold the post.
ACTION: Contact your senators at http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm and urge a No vote on Lynch’s nomination.

This Pro-Life 17-Year-Old Just Beat an Incumbent State Legislator

An interesting story from www.lifenews.com about a pro-life candidate. This follows this post about the Gosnell movieFor more that you can do to get involved click HERE and you can also get two very interesting books HEREYou can follow me at blogspot here and at twitter here https://twitter.com/brianleesblog. This Pro-Life 17-Year-Old Just Beat an Incumbent State Legislator

by Steven Ertelt | Charleston, WV | LifeNews.com |

If you’re concerned about the future of the country and want to know if the next generation of Americans cares about pro-life issues, look no further than the state of West Virginia. There, pro-life 17-year-old Saira Blair, who will graduate this month, ran on a pro-life platform to beat an incumbent state legislator.
Blair gives hope to pro-lifers wondering if teenagers really “get it” and want to make a difference for life.
sairablairAs the Washington Post reports:
She posts photos of her smoothie habit on Instagram, volunteers at the Martinsburg VA hospital and helps raise money for the Make-a-Wish foundation. She will not be eligible to vote until July.
But on Tuesday, she beat a sitting state delegate who was seeking a third term in office.
With all 13 precincts in her Martinsburg-area district reporting, Blair beat state Del. Larry Kump (R) by an 872-728 vote margin.

Blair campaigned on an antiabortion, pro-Second Amendment platform, offering her cellphone number to constituents and pledging not to go negative. She spent about $4,800 on her campaign, state finance records show (Kump, a former lobbyist, only spent $1,800 on his reelection bid).
“I think I’m fully capable of doing the job, and I don’t think it’s rocket science by any means — not if you just listen to the people,” Blair told the Martinsburg Herald-Mail this week.

Rep. Keith Ellison addresses chapter of Hamas-linked CAIR

A very interesting post from www.jihadwatch.org about a Muslim in the U.S. House of Representatives addressing an anti-American group. This follows this post about Benjamin Netanyahu and Barack Obama. This follows this post about Katy Perry's video referencing Islam. This follows this article about American energy independence and preventing money from going to hostile countries. Rep. Keith Ellison addresses chapter of Hamas-linked CAIR

By            in CAIR with 141 Comments
EllisonCAIRThis is not the first time: Hamas-linked CAIR raised large amounts of for Ellison’s first campaign, and he has spoken at numerous CAIR events.
CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case — so named by the Justice Department. CAIR operatives have repeatedly refused to denounce Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups. Several former CAIR officials have been convicted of various crimes related to jihad terror. CAIR’s cofounder and longtime Board chairman (Omar Ahmad), as well as its chief spokesman (Ibrahim Hooper), have made Islamic supremacist statements. Its California chapter distributed the poster above telling Muslims not to talk to the FBI. CAIR has opposed every anti-terror measure that has ever been proposed or implemented.
But all that is apparently fine with Ellison; in fact, to bring it up would be “Islamophobic.” And no one will care about this. But imagine if Ellison were not a Muslim, but a Christian, and had addressed a conference of, say, the American Freedom Defense Initiative. Do you think there would be a furor in the mainstream media, with calls for Ellison’s resignation? So do I. And yet AFDI has no connection to any terror groups. CAIR has plenty. And the world is upside down indeed.

Hard left turn will lead to dead end for Democrats

A timely post about from www.hughhewitt.com analyzing the hard-left pull on the Democratic party for the next two election cycles. This follows this post analyzing the current state of America. This follows this post about Christmas in Mexico.  In the meantime, you can get more involved if you like here and read an interesting book HERE.

Hard left turn will lead to dead end for Democrats

By HUGH HEWITT |

The "Free Enterprise Friday" roundtable on CNBC's "The Kudlow Report" means the always gracious but relentless Larry Kudlow focuses his panel of three guests on very specific subjects.
Larry's table Friday included Richard Socarides, Democratic strategist and former Clinton White House official, New York City radio talker Mark Simone and me. After Larry led us through a dissection of the brutal opening of the 2014 edition of the Obamacare follies, we all turned our collective attention to the Senate races of 2014.
The very amiable and unflappable Socarides played the "war on women" card immediately, arguing that the GOP and the "Koch brothers" were targeting Democratic women in the Senate. I was quick to point out — as every conservative should be — that this is a very hard argument to make when GOP candidates like Shelley Moore Capito in West Virginia, Terri Lynn Land in Michigan and Amy Stephens in Colorado are leading the war on the Democrats' and Harry Reid's long and disastrous hold on the U.S. Senate. Not just hard-to-make, in fact, but desperate, and that's what Senate Democrats are right now: desperate.
That Socarides was so quick to dust off the canard of 2012 tells us much not just about the Left's strategy for the year ahead but also about Hillary Clinton's for 2016 — and Socarides is very much the Hillary supporter. Blocked by the record of Obama-Clinton abroad from running on America's "new standing" in the world, or "reset" buttons pushed, or Arab Spring flourishings, Hillary will have to run on domestic issues, and there she finds ... Obamacare.
There is only one way out. The Right's edgier partisans will be recalling that "Warriors bled and Hillary fled" and "an ambassador was assassinated and Hillary procrastinated" as Benghazi looms over her attempt to defend her frequent-flier-miles tenure at Foggy Bottom, and Hillary will find herself forced to confront "what difference does it make" video every time talks turns to her record and Obamacare when it turns to Obama.
She has only one choice: To run left. Hard left. The left that animates New York City's new mayor Bill de Blasio. The left of Nancy Pelosi's San Francisco and of President Obama's community organizer roots.
America's seven lean years of economic growth, including the panic of 2008 and the long ruinous recession and non-recovery recovery date to this month's passing in 2007 of the gavel in the House to Nancy Pelosi. Pelosi only had four years of power. But that brief two years when she ruled the House, Reid the Senate and a newly-elected Obama demanded and got Obamacare, the failed "stimulus" and Dodd-Frank haunt the country still even as Hillary's time at State will haunt American interests abroad for decades.
The "war on women" rhetoric, unveiled by George Stephanopoulos in New Hampshire in early 2012 as a cudgel with which to pummel Mitt Romney, and de Blasio's attack on the "far right" for preaching "the virtue of trickle-down economics" in his inaugural address last week are the only tricks left in the Left's bag, and thus Hillary's. Straw men burn quickly and don't provide much warmth, for de Blasio, for the Democratic Senate candidates in 2014 or for Hillary in 2016.
The seven lean years are coming to an end even as left-wing progressivism reaches its end stage in New York City, the bankrupt cities of California and in the chaos of America's made-over health care system. November cannot come soon enough.

Primary elections today in 3 states: We need you standing up against the invasion‏

A very interesting post from www.Alipac.US about three primaries on May 8. This follows this previous post about it. This follows this post about Marco Rubio's DREAM Act. This follows this post about the Black Caucus hurting Black Americans with their immigration stand. This follows this post about how to Report Illegal Immigrants such as the 30,000 openly illegal immigrants in the border town of El Paso, where President Barack Obama recently bashed immigration enforcement! For more that you can do to get involved click HERE and you can read a very interesting book HERE!

Primary elections today in 3 states: We need you standing up against the invasion‏

Today we have very important primary races in Indiana, North Carolina, and West Virginia. If you live in these three states we need you out voting, volunteering and rounding up other like minded Americans and getting them to the polls.

Here are our currently endorsed candidates for 2012

http://www.alipac.us/campaign/

In Indiana, we need you supporting Richard Mourdock for US Senate if you want to help us really strike a blow against the illegal alien Amnesty and invasion supporters in Washington DC. A Mourdock triumph over Dream Act Amnesty co-sponsor Dick Lugar would be a huge win for us. We need your support for Congressman Joe Donnelly in Indiana as well.

In North Carolina, we have our targeted race where Ilario Pantano faces Agjobs Amnesty for illegal aliens supporter David Rouzer in NC's 7th District. I will personally be working at the polls throughout th day to help Pantano. Other members of the Congress needing your support in NC today include, Walter Jones, Howard Coble and Patrick McHenry.

In West Virginia, our ALIPAC endorsed candidate Shelley Moore Capito needs your support today.

If you live in these three states we need your direct action today. If you live outside of these three states, please review our endorsements and if your members of congress or local candidates are not endorsed by ALIPAC then please send them this link for ALIPAC's 2012 Candidate Survey.

ALIPAC's 2012 Federal Candidate Survey

http://www.alipac.us/f30/alipacs-201...pledge-253198/

We already have 125 endorsed candidates in 2012 and with your help we can head into the November elections with the largest group of candidates in the history of our organization.

These are the men and women who have the most power to stop Amnesty and stop illegal immigration. Many of them are facing intense opposition in their district by the globalist invasion supporters who are flooding their opponents with campaign cash and pushing redistricting efforts.

Over the last 7 years here at ALIPAC we together have been successful in uniting the most dedicated Americans for the cause. You are over 40,000 strong and if we can get you organized, voting, volunteering, and donating in unison you can have a major impact against illegal immigration.

Let's rally our friends and neighbors and other like minded Americans today. Let's get behind our candidates!

Special thanks to those of you who recently donated to help us launch special support operations behind Mourdock and Pantano.

Sincerely,

William Gheen
