Did Jesus Christ Foretell Devastating Storms?

An interesting article from http://www.ucg.org/ about prophetic hurricanes. This follows this post about the Day of Atonement. For a free magazine subscription or to get the books recommended for free click HERE! or call 1-888-886- 8632.

In Matthew 24:7-8, Jesus Christ foretold signs that would mark the time leading up to His return: “For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places …”
We have certainly seen devastating earthquakes in recent years. The December 2004 earthquake off Indonesia was the most powerful in decades, unleashing a massive tsunami that took some 300,000 lives. Less than a year later, an earthquake in southern Asia killed another 30,000.
In Matthew 24:7, the Greek word translated “earthquakes” is seismos, from which we derive such English words as “seismology,” referring to the study of earthquakes. Strong’s Lexicon defines it as “a commotion, i.e. (of the air) a gale, (of the ground) an earthquake—earthquake, tempest” (Strong’s No. 4578).
So seismos has a broader meaning than just the earth shaking. Matthew 8 records how a violent storm overtook Jesus and His disciples on the Sea of Galilee, threatening to capsize their boat and drown them—until Jesus miraculously calmed the winds and waves.
The word used in Matthew 8:24 for this powerful storm is seismos , here translated “tempest.” So we see that seismos can also refer to violent storms and isn’t limited strictly to earthquakes. When Jesus foretold “famines, pestilences and earthquakes in various places,” His words encompass natural disasters that include earthquakes, but can also apply to hurricanes, tornadoes and other such deadly storms.
As we saw with Hurricane Katrina, these storms can be enormously destructive. Katrina took more than 1,200 lives and caused an estimated $200 billion in damage, not counting the economic hit from losses to shipping, oil and gas production, fishing and agriculture. New Orleans, devastated by the storm, will not fully recover for decades— if ever.
A hurricane like Katrina, which reached category 5 strength before weakening, can produce winds greater than 155 miles an hour and push ahead of it a wall of water 18 feet or higher, doing major damage to virtually anything in its path.
Are such natural disasters increasing as Jesus foretold?
The Sept. 16, 2005, issue of Science magazine reports on research by scientists at the Georgia Institute of Technology and the National Center for Atmospheric Research. They concluded that while the total number of hurricanes and cyclones had not increased, there has been “a sharp increase during the past 35 years in the number of category 4 and 5 tropical cyclones, the most intense storms that cause most of the damage on landfall” (Richard Kerr, “Is Katrina a Harbinger of Still More Powerful Hurricanes?,” p. 1807).
Specifically, the frequency of the most dangerous and damaging storms—those rated category 4 and 5— increased by 80 percent from the 1970s to the latest decade.
This should certainly make us sit up and take notice. Later in Jesus Christ’s same prophecy, as recorded in Luke 21:25-28, He says: “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth …
“Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”

Ann Coulter: And Then There Was One—And He Means What He Says About Immigration

511nk5odwLL._SY344_BO1204203200_-198x300[1]A guy just won the Republican nomination for president by spending no money, hiring no pollsters, running virtually no TV ads, and just saying what he truly believed no matter how many times people told him he couldn’t say that.
I always hoped I’d see this once before I died. It’s like to going to Mecca, for Americans. Pay attention, because it’s the last time we’re going to see it in our lifetimes.
For those of you not yet on the Trump Train, I know you don’t want to vote for Hillary, but all the pundits have been trying to convince you that Trump’s a complete fraud. (That was between their smug assurances that he wouldn’t make it out of Iowa.)
It’s odd. When Trump launched his campaign by talking about Mexican rapists and the wall, his critics hysterically denounced him, rushing to TV to say he did NOT represent the Republican Party! Only after it became resoundingly clear that large majorities of Americans agreed with Trump did his critics try a new tack: He doesn’t believe it!
That’s what my friend Andy McCarthy at the now-defunct National Review wrote recently.[ Trump Would Press the Agenda That Drove His Voters from the GOP, April 30, 2016] I had to spend the weekend figuring out how to attack a friend without saying, “This is the most retarded argument I’ve ever read.”
Here goes: This was not Andy’s best effort.
Of all the arguments that could be made against Trump, McCarthy settled on: I don’t trust him on immigration. (I’d love to have been a fly on the wall at that pitch meeting.)
He bases this claim on a remark Trump made as a businessman four years ago in which he regurgitated the official GOP line about Romney—and which was being stated as fact 1 million times a day on CNN, MSNBC and Fox News.
To wit, Trump told Newsmax that Mitt Romney “had a crazy policy of self-deportation which was maniacal,” adding, “He lost all of the Latino vote … he lost everybody who is inspired to come into this country.”
It is strange that Trump would denounce “self-deportation,” which is like a chocolate sundae compared to his own plans for illegals.
But to give you the tenor of the interview, Trump went on to promote “Celebrity Apprentice,” note that he had just bought the Old Post Office building in Washington, D.C., and boast about his recently acquired Ritz-Carlton Golf Club and Spa in Jupiter, Fla.—”which is a phenomenal area.”
Also, a lot of people didn’t like the phrase “self-deportation.” Why not just say: “They’ll go home the same way they came“?
So is Trump lying about his signature issue, immigration? The countervailing evidence to that 2012 pop-off is:
  • Nine months of Trump soaring to the top of the polls and slaying all comers by talking about how he’s going to build a wall and make Mexico pay for it;
  • His never, ever, ever backing down on the wall, sanctuary cities, anchor babies, suspending Muslim immigration, etc., etc., despite unprecedented attacks from both the liberal and “conservative” media;
  • The fact that he talks about immigration at every single one of his massive rallies and always gets the biggest, most sustained standing ovations when he mentions the wall;
  • The blizzard of tweets he sent out in 2013 denouncing Rubio’s amnesty bill as it was sailing through the Senate, supported by the entire liberal media, Rupert Murdoch, Fox News, most of talk radio, and every other GOP candidate for president this year, including, for a while, Ted Cruz (whose job was to know about bills being voted on in the Senate, unlike a Manhattan developer);
  • Trump’s one and only policy guy is the magnificent Stephen Miller, who was Jeff Sessions’ main immigration guy.
And so on.
Maybe Trump is the Manchurian Candidate and contrary to his entire life’s work he really just wants fancy people in Manhattan to like him.
Maybe the window into his soul is what he said four years ago about Romney’s phrase “self-deportation.”
Maybe 50 years of Trump’s talking about the working class was all a clever ruse leading to this one shining moment when he would trick Americans into voting for him, so he could sell us out, like any other candidate would.
On the other hand, maybe he’s changed his mind about that 2012 remark.
I’m bitter and cynical enough on immigration that I don’t trust anyone not to betray us. But if there was ever a candidate we could believe will build a wall and stop the mass importation of the Third World, it’s Trump.

How Can You Counter a Degenerating Culture?

An interesting article from http://www.ucg.org/ about a degenerating culture. This follows this post about the state of religion. For a free magazine subscription or to get the books recommended for free click HERE! or call 1-888-886- 8632.

Culture: It's a word we hear a lot about these days. But what does it mean? One dictionary defines culture as “the particular system of art, thought and customs of a society.” Author Robert Dugan offers a broader definition. He defines culture as “the ways of thinking, living and behaving that define a people and underlie its achievements. It is a nation's collective mind, its sense of right and wrong, the way it perceives reality, and its definition of self. Culture is the morals and habits a mother strives to instill in her children. It is the obligations we acknowledge toward our neighbors, our community, and our government … It is the standards we set and enforce for ourselves and for others: our definitions of duty, honor and character. It is our collective conscience” ( Winning the New Civil War , 1991, p. 169).
Does popular culture—and our attitude toward it—matter?
The Bible contains a disturbing prophetic glimpse of culture in the last days of human civilization. The apostle Paul was inspired to write of the last days as “perilous times” (2 Timothy 3:1). He describes that age as a time when “men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God …” (verses 2-4).
Could Paul have been writing of our culture, that of the Western world in 2002? He certainly seems to describe a culture bent on pleasure, entertainment, vanity, greed and utter selfishness at the expense of stable marriages, families and other relationships.
Consider a lesson from history. Sociologist and historian Carle Zimmerman, in his 1947 book Family and Civilization , recorded his observations as he compared the disintegration of various cultures with their parallel decline of family life:
“Eight specific patterns of domestic behavior typified the downward spiral of each culture Zimmerman studied: Marriage lost its sacredness [and] is frequently broken by divorce; traditional meaning of the marriage ceremony is lost; feminist movements abound; there is increased public disrespect for parents and authority in general; an acceleration of juvenile delinquency, promiscuity and rebellion occur; there is refusal of people with traditional marriages to accept family responsibilities; a growing desire for, and acceptance of, adultery is evident; there is increasing interest in, and spread of, sexual perversions and sex-related crimes” (quoted in Confident Living , November 1987, p. 34).

Values-neutral philosophy

A major change over recent decades is that Western culture has become what sociologists call values-neutral .Advocates of this approach argue that we should not adopt any system defining right and wrong and expect all to adhere to it because no one has a right to impose his values on others.
A former U.S. senator from Indiana, Daniel Coats, reported: “I recently saw the story of a high school values clarification class conducted by a teacher in Teaneck, New Jersey. A girl in the class had found a purse containing $1,000 and returned it to its owner. The teacher asked for the class's reaction. Every single one of her fellow students concluded the girl had been 'foolish.'
“Most of the students contended that if someone is careless, they should be punished. When the teacher was asked what he had said to the students, he responded, 'Well, of course, I didn't say anything. If I come from the position of what is right and wrong, then I'm not their counselor. I can't impose my views'” ( Imprimis , September 1991).
But if figures in authority won't—or can't—teach standards to children, where will they learn them? In all too many cases, from the popular culture around them.
Tragically, most Americans no longer believe in the concept of absolute moral truths. A George Barna poll conducted late last year found that only 22 percent of American adults—and a minuscule 6 percent of teenagers—believed that “there are moral absolutes that are unchanging.” Sadly, only 32 percent of those who described themselves as Christians believed in absolute moral standards, and only 26 percent cited the Bible as the source of their moral principles.

'Impossible without faith in God'

How are we to establish an ethical and moral cultural base for our societies and families? Previous articles in The Good News have highlighted the biblical foundation of true values and the fact that, when the United States was founded, its leaders unashamedly accepted many of the principles of Scripture as the basis for its laws and culture.
Reminiscent of such long-abandoned values, columnist Georgie Anne Geyer wrote: “I have come to the conclusion that it is impossible to have a moral community or nation without faith in God, because without it everything rapidly comes down to 'me,' and 'me' alone is meaningless. “Today Americans have … stopped acting on what they knew was right—and 'me' has become the measure of everything.
However, moral societies are the only ones that work . If anyone thinks there is not a direct and invaluable relationship between personal integrity in a society and that society's prosperity, that person has simply not studied history.
“And this should not surprise us. Great moral societies, built upon faith in God, honor, trust, and the law, blossom because they are harmonious; because people love or at least respect their fellowman; because, finally, they have a common belief in something beyond themselves … Alexis de Tocqueville said it best when he realized even at the very beginning of our national life, 'America is great because America is good. If America ceases to be good, she will cease to be great'” ( Bits & Pieces , Sept. 17, 1992, pp. 23-24, emphasis added).
These sentiments were echoed by Svetlana Alliluyeva, daughter of Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin, when she unexpectedly defected from Russia to the United States.
Why did she defect? In her own words: “I found it impossible to exist without God in one's heart. I came to that conclusion myself, without anybody's help or preaching.
That was a great change because since that moment the main dogmas of Communism lost their significance for me. I have come here to seek the self-expression that has been denied me for so long in Russia” (quoted in Morning Glory , Feb. 5, 1994).
It is faith in God that provides the anchor for a culture. Without it we are cast adrift, lost in a sea of values neutrality or hedonism and robbed of any method of determining right from wrong. The result is a culture that staggers like a drunkard unable to find the wall.

Crumbling morality threatens a nation

The dramatic effects of the Western cultural shift are best illustrated by contrasting social trends. Consider some changes over a 50-year period: “In New York City in 1943, 3 percent of all births were illegitimate. There were 44 homicides by gunshot. In 1992, 1,499 people died of gunshot. 45 percent of births in 1993 were illegitimate. Nationwide, nearly 30 percent of all babies today come home fatherless, 68 percent in Washington, D.C.” (Gary Bauer, Family Research Council letter, Nov. 4, 1993).
William Bennett, former U.S. secretary of education, published a book in 1999 titled The Index of Leading Cultural Indicators . Here are a few of the statistics he presented, comparing life in 1997 with 1960:
  • Violent crime increased by 467 percent.
  • Illegitimate births were up 461 percent.
  • Divorces rose by 100 percent.
  • Children living in single-parent homes increased more than 200 percent.
  • Teenage suicides were up more than 100 percent.
  • SAT scores dropped by almost 60 points.
Finally, consider the result of a survey conducted in 1988 by the Rhode Island Rape Crisis Center. About 1,700 students between the sixth and ninth grades attended adolescent assault-awareness classes conducted in schools across the state. Each boy and girl was asked whether a man should have a right to force a woman to have sexual intercourse if he had spent money on her.
The shocking results? Nearly 25 percent of the boys and 16 percent of the girls said “Yes.” Sixty-five percent of the boys and 47 percent of the girls in the seventh through ninth grades said it is permissible for a man to force a woman to have sex with him if they have dated for six months or longer (James Dobson and Gary Bauer, “Children at Risk,” Word , 1990, pp. 258-259).

Influence on Christians?

Let's not carelessly assume these trends have no effect on those who describe themselves as Christians. The Community Impact Seminar: Focus on the Family reported that two out of every five self-identified Christians say you may do anything you want just as long as you don't hurt anyone else.
In New Testament times, the grinding effect of a permissive, anything-goes popular culture was illustrated by the story of the Church of God congregation in the Greek city of Corinth. Located on a natural harbor and at the intersections of several major trade routes, the city was quite prosperous.
But tragically, like the city of Sodom centuries before (Genesis 13:13; Ezekiel 16:49-50), Corinth had allowed its wealth to lure many of its inhabitants into immorality. So legendary had this city become that it even gave its name to the term corinthianize , meaning to act in an immoral way.
Christians are not immune to their cultural surroundings. The Corinthians reflected the loose, values-neutral backdrop of their city in their own moral carelessness.
The recorded story of the congregation in Corinth tells us of a man who was cohabiting with his stepmother (1 Corinthians 5:1), a sin that was tolerated—or perhaps even condoned—by many in the church (verse 2). The values of Corinthian society had affected them to the point that they would tolerate this kind of degeneracy—much to their shame.
You can also read of their tendency to allow their contentions to boil over in lawsuits (1 Corinthians 6) and their failure to remain faithful to their marriage vows (chapter 7). A sectarian, individualistic spirit (chapter 3), and drunkenness at the solemn occasion of the Passover (1 Corinthians 11:17-22), were among the many spiritual weaknesses of the Corinthians.
Paul had to sternly correct these sins and several others. No, these Christians were not immune to the corroding influences in their culture, just as Christians today aren't immune to their culture.

Countering the culture

So what can you do?
First, you have to recognize the influence of popular culture on all aspects of your life.
What manner of person would you have been if you had been born in another place and another time? How are you different now because of the culture around you?
Familiarizing yourself with the history of our cultures, and with the changing value systems of the modern world, will allow you to begin to appreciate the impact of the time and place of your birth.
Second, you must develop moral and ethical convictions . What do you allow yourself to do? What has shaped your standards and morals, your values? Do you recognize there is a cause and purpose much greater than you, much greater than life itself?
There are indeed proper definitions for the terms right and wrong , sin and righteousness . Those definitions are provided in the Word of God, the Holy Bible. Studying that book was once commonplace. Your studying it now will provide you a moral and cultural anchor.
Third, diminish your concern about what others will think . There is no point in worrying about them, because convictions never bring universal approval.
Those who accept a moral code derived from the Holy Scriptures will find themselves opposed by many (though not by all). Yet your concern needs to be not what people think, but what your Creator thinks.
Finally, stand up for what you believe .
Remember the saying: If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything. The courage to stand up for what's right may carry a price tag in the short term, but it will reap valuable returns in your character over the course of this life and into eternity. GN

Nikki Haley Compares Trump To Ferguson And Baltimore Rioters–Left Gets Offended…On Behalf Of The Rioters

Nikki Haley, has confirmed that she was deliberately attacking Trump last night in her State Of The Union response.
In an interview with black TV host Don Lemon on CNN’s “New Day” she compared Trump to Ferguson and Baltimore rioters:
LEMON: I think I want to start with that soundbite. You said the ‘loudest voices in the room.’ Was that comment directed at Donald Trump?
HALEY: Partially him, but a lot of people. You know, a lot of what I was talking about is that we’ve seen across our country — if you look at Ferguson and Baltimore we are seeing that people have to be loud, they have to be angry to have their voices heard.
[Nikki Haley Confirms She Targeted Donald Trump In SOTU Response; GOP Leaders Approved, by John Nolte, Breitbart.com, January 13, 2015]
Trump may be something of a firebrand, but as far as I know, he hasn’t burned down any stores.
In the actual State of the Union response, she compared the lack of black riots in her state of South Carolina after the Dylann Roof murders with the rioting elsewhere.
The Left has denounced this comparison–they’re defending the rioters.
Haley lamented “chaotic unrest in many of our cities,” later comparing the response to the attack on a black church in Charleston by a white supremacist with the protests triggered by police killings of unarmed black people.
“What happened after the tragedy is worth pausing to think about,” she said. “Our state was struck with shock, pain, and fear. But our people would not allow hate to win. We didn’t have violence, we had vigils. We didn’t have riots, we had hugs.”
“We didn’t turn against each other’s race or religion,” she continued. “We turned toward God, and to the values that have long made our country the freest and greatest in the world.”
This isn’t the first time Haley has held up the forgiveness displayed by Charleston’s African American community to denounce largely peaceful protests in Ferguson and Baltimore.
“Black lives do matter,” she said in a speech about race in September. “And they have been disgracefully jeopardized by the movement that has laid waste to Ferguson and Baltimore.”
Nikki Haley Uses Republican State Of The Union Response To Disparage Black Lives Matter, by Aviva Shen, ThinkProgress, Jan 12, 2016

“Largely peaceful protests” is good–did you know Japan was “largely peaceful” on December 7, 1941? It was only a few people in the Imperial Japanese Navy who spoiled it.
Richard B. Spencer has a question about one part of her speech:
Apparently not–see her swift surrender of the Confederate Flag last June: South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley says Confederate flag has ‘no place’ on statehouse ground, Fox News, June 22 2015].

What Is the State of Your Religion?

An interesting article from http://www.ucg.org/ about the state of religion. This follows this post about the direction of America. For a free magazine subscription or to get the books recommended for free click HERE! or call 1-888-886- 8632.

This past week U.S. President Obama gave the annual State of the Union speech. Decades ago, this speech was intended to be the President talking to the members of Congress concerning the state of the nation. With the advent of television, the State of the Union address began to be used to promote the accomplishments of the current president. In recent years in America this State of the Union address has become a footnote in the news cycle, only to be reviewed in passing the next day.
The State of the Union speech this past week and a survey I read from George Barna made me think about the state of other things, including religion. Mr. Barna specializes in polling Christian topics, and he released an annual survey highlighting the most (and least) Bible-minded cities in America. In a culture that promotes so much anti-Christian “entertainment,” it can be surprising to consider that there is still a Bible sub-current in the U.S.A. Birmingham, Alabama took the honors as the most Bible-minded city, while Providence, Rhode Island took the “honor” of being the least Bible-minded city. The rest of the list is available at http://cities.barna.org/2015-bible-minded-cities/ .
All of this made me ask myself the question: “What is the State of Religion in the Church of God?”
The criterion for Mr. Barna’s survey was simply this: if a person read something from the Bible in the last seven days, they were considered Bible-minded. That’s a pretty low bar isn’t it?! The criteria didn’t include any particular length of time reading the Bible, praying, church attendance, or anything else connected with a Christian life. And we should also add to the list of things a Bible-minded person would do, including fasting, meditation on Scripture, serving the widows and orphans, obeying God’s instruction (tithing, observing the Sabbath and annual Holy Days, etc.), and being part of preaching of the Gospel.
Doing the physical things connected to worshipping God does not earn us salvation, but it does impact our character as we begin to emulate God’s character. My concern with Mr. Barna’s study is that reading the Bible once a week doesn’t constitute a solid foundation for becoming a child of God. A casual approach to any of our responsibilities as a Christian leaves us vulnerable to the cares of this life and the pull of this world.
As a young person, be mindful of the calling God is giving you and the responsibility of studying and implementing His instruction. Spend time reading the Bible, doing a study and praying daily to God. Build a solid a foundation for the rest of eternity.

Two Refugees Arrested For Supporting Terrorist Groups

https://www.numbersusa.com/sendfax

Two Iraqi refugees in the U.S. were arrested on Thursday for supporting terrorist groups in the Middle East. These arrests take place as concern about the ability of the federal government to thoroughly screen refugee applicants gained national attention after the Paris terrorist attack.
FBI Director, James Comey, has repeatedly said that the U.S. does not have the ability to thoroughly screen Syrian refugees for terrorist ties. Yet, even with access to the Iraqi databases both of these men passed the screening procedures to enter the U.S. as refugees.
Aws Mohammed Younis Al-Jayab, 23, was arrested in Sacramento, California after admitting in private social media messages that he fought alongside terrorist groups in Syria during his trip to the Middle East in 2013 before returning to the U.S. in 2014.
According to court papers Al-Jayab wrote in one message “I came to Syria.... I fight alongside.” He also admitted that he left because of the fighting between Islamic extremist groups but vowed to return “when the seditious acts are over.”
A few of these online messages led the authorities to the second Iraqi refugee, Omar Faraj Saeed Al Hardan, who was also arrested in Houston, Texas for attempting to provide support to a foreign terrorist group and unlawfully procuring citizenship by not mentioning his alleged ties to terror groups, and lying to federal authorities about his weapons training.
In one conversation in 2013 Al Hardan allegedly wrote Al-Jayab, “Do you know that I have never sprayed fire with a Kalashnikov?” — a type of Russian assault rifle. Al-Jayab responded, “God willing, you will have your chance to shoot.”
Both men will face a judge on Friday and if convicted Al Hardan faces 20 years in a prison and a fine up to $250,000 and Al-Jayab faces a sentence of eight years in prison and the same $250,000 fine.
Last month Congress passed the omnibus spending bill that included funding for Pres. Obama’s plan to increase the refugee program to 70,000 to 85,000 this year, including at least 10,000 Syrian refugees.

Editorial: Mizzou Counterstrike!

Editorial

The Group www.yaf.org began the counterstrike at Mizzou! This strategy can be used in other trending liberal areas such as Maryland, South Carolina, Minnesota, and California as well as any others you are concerned about!

Last night at the University of Missouri, the campus conservatives were triumphant in the battle for free speech and sanity. Through Young America’s Foundation, Mizzou’s conservative club hosted Ben Shapiro in front of a packed audience (and overflow room), and a massive online audience. Approximately 160,000 people tuned in to watch the event online, in addition to the 400 present in the auditorium and overflow room.
Shapiro knocked down the liberal arguments over “white privilege,” “safe spaces,” and “microaggressions.” The conservative students at Mizzou were inspired to become more active on campus and showed the university that not everyone agrees with the liberal protesters who took control of the campus last week.

If you’re looking to become more active on campus or invite a conservative speaker to your school, here are four lessons you can take from last night’s event at Mizzou.

Lesson 1: There Are More Conservatives on Campus Than You Think
First, conservatives win by being vocal. Last week, the University of Missouri’s campus was taken over by liberal protesters, claiming Mizzou needed to address its “climate of racism.” The vocal minority appeared to be a majority, as conservative students had yet to stage a counter-movement. That all changed last night. For once, the liberal students at Mizzou, and in the audience listening to Ben Shapiro got a taste of what it feels like to be a college conservative: Outnumbered.
YOCMO7

Lesson 2: A Handful of Flyers and Tweets Don’t Cut it for Advertising
“Boots on the ground” activism is the way to go. The conservative club at Mizzou worked for hours a day leading up to the lecture, hoping to secure a large audience. They plastered campus with (literally) thousands of posters and passed out hundreds of flyers on campus. They also “chalked” the entire campus, posting quotes like “check you liberal privilege” and “see Ben Shapiro tonight at 6 pm!” When preparing for an on-campus lecture, writing a blog and posting a couple tweets on social media isn’t enough. The Mizzou conservatives proved that this week.
YOCMO8

Lesson 3: Call out the Left for their Failed Ideas
Telling the truth always wins. The title of Ben Shapiro’s lecture, “Truth is a Microaggression,” couldn’t be more accurate. Shapiro didn’t silence liberal dissent because he was loud or simply because there was a large audience. He silenced the liberal protesters in the room because he told the truth forcefully and thoroughly.
YOCMO9
Lesson 4: Work with YAF!
Finally, we encourage you to work with YAF if you want to fight back on campus. Several of the conservatives at Mizzou attended our Fall Conference at the Reagan Ranch last week, where they saw Ben Shapiro speak. They were so inspired by his talk, and excited to become more active on campus, that we worked with them to stage this event in a matter of six days. We can do the same for you. Contact us today.

A recent Economist article reported on a start-up marijuana delivery service in Washington state and further noted: “Dope-delivery services are also popular in states with stricter laws. In New York, dealing is banned but possession has been decriminalised. More than a dozen illegal delivery services now serve tokers [marijuana users] in Manhattan and Brooklyn” (“Why Pot Is the New Pizza: Dope to Your Door,” June 21, 2014).
What is legal isn't always what is moral. Abortion has been legal in the United States since the 1970s, but clearly it isn't acceptable to God. Socially we hear the phrase “recreational drug use,” which minimizes the seriousness of the matter. Using mind-altering drugs for “fun” is not safe.
What does God think about the use of such drugs? Our Creator has given us the ability to choose His way of life. He has never forced us. Our God-given minds, our ability to think and reason, distinguish us from animals. The problem with such drugs is that we don't make sound decisions under their influence.
“The Bible doesn't condemn alcohol,” one might argue. And God does allow the consumption of alcohol—but to a point. Scripture clearly prohibits drunkenness, which impairs reasoning. In a 2011 Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center study, “researchers observed that marijuana users performed poorly on the Iowa Gambling Task (IGT), which is a complex decision-making task in which participants make choices under ambiguous conditions and win or lose money based on their choices” (“Decision-Making Processes Blunted in Chronic Marijuana Smokers,” press release, Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, June 21, 2011).
God wants us to make sound judgments in our life with a clear mind. Just because drug abuse is declared legal under man's laws doesn't mean that God approves of it.
Our Father has always given us the choice between life and death, blessings and curses—with the directive that we choose life (Deuteronomy 30:19 Deuteronomy 30:19I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both you and your seed may live:

Democrat On The Triumph Of Trump: MSM May Kill The Messenger—But Not The Message

An interesting article from www.vdare.com about the Democratic party and immigration enforcement. This follows this post about Mexico and Donald Trump. This follows this post about the TPA in the Senate. Remember, “Amnesty” means ANY non-enforcement of existing immigration laws! This follows this comment and this post about how to Report Illegal Immigrants! Also, you can read two very interesting books HERE.

Democrat On The Triumph Of Trump: MSM May Kill The Messenger—But Not The Message

trumpamericadeserveThe overwhelming silent majority of American citizens who are immigration patriots have been wondering for years when someone would tell the truth and force the Main Stream Media to confront our post-1965 immigration disaster. But probably few of us expected it would be Donald Trump.
Trump is the subject of an increasingly hysterical hate campaign for daring to mention illegal immigrant crime. Journalists are calling Trump a “racist” instead of confronting his common-sense message—that a country which can’t control its borders is not a country.
This kind of reaction testifies to a kind of psychological problem with our Main Stream Media. “Shooting the messenger” is really a well-documented attempt to deny a feeling of powerlessness and escape reality:
Plutarch‘s Lives states: “The first messenger, that gave notice of Lucullus‘ coming was so far from pleasing Tigranes that, he had his head cut off for his pains; and no man dared to bring further information. Without any intelligence at all, Tigranes sat while war was already blazing around him, giving ear only to those who flattered him….”
Freud considered shooting the messenger a “marginal case of this kind of defense…of fending off what is distressing or unbearable,” citing the example of “the famous lament of the Spanish Moors Ay de mi Alhama, which tells how King Boabdil received the news of the fall of his city of Alhama. He feels that this loss means the end of his rule. But he will not “let it be true….He threw the letters in the fire and killed the messenger.”
Freud added that “a further determinant of this behavior of the king was his need to combat a feeling of powerlessness. By burning the letters and having the messenger killed he was still trying to show his absolute power.”
[Shooting the messenger, Wikipedia, Accessed July 5, 2015. Links in original]
Of course, the accusation of racism is the ultimate trump (!) card for the MSM. So they aren’t just attacking Donald Trump, they are attacking him while refusing to even discuss what he actually said.
But the American people certainly heard it. Trump is now one of the top candidates in the race for the Republican nomination.
What is most remarkable, to me as a long-time Democrat, is how eager other major Republican candidates like Jeb Bush or Rick Perry are to condemn Trump, instead of seizing on the immigration issue even opportunistically. All it would take is for one of them to say: “Well, I don’t agree with absolutely everything Donald Trump says but his main points about controlling our borders and preventing the immigration of dangerous criminals are correct.” Yet only Rick Santorum (and to some degree Ted Cruz, although he remains in silly illegal-bad, legal-good mode) has done it. [Donald Trump’s comments on illegal immigrants divide 2016 GOP hopefuls, by Valerie Richardson. Washington Post, July 5, 2015].
I still don’t think Trump will be the Republican nominee, nor are we likely to see a Coulter-Trump ticket, as John Derbyshire suggested. Still, the immigration issue is now central to the campaign and it will be interesting (and amusing) to see everyone from Hillary Clinton to the clown car of Republican candidates desperately trying to avoid it.
Immigration is the elephant in the living room not just in the United States, but in every developed country.
Europe is practically under siege from a constant flow of “refugees,” most of whom are young males from Africa rather than helpless women and children.
The US is constantly being warned about possible terrorist attacks even as the federal government does nothing about the over 20 million illegal aliens roaming the country. Indeed, entire cities, so called “Sanctuary Cities,” have essentially seceded from federal law enforcement by refusing to enforce immigration laws. And this is enabled because the MSM automatically stigmatizes any resistance to this massive lawbreaking as “racism.”
Why? Powerful interests benefit from the status quo. Those who benefit from cheap labor or who want to import more Democratic voters, parishioners, or members of their preferred ethnic group are quite willing to put their own personal interests above the American national interest.
It takes someone with wealth and celebrity to break through the MSM blockade. Trump has done it. He has told the immigration story like it is. And though, under MSM pressure, businesses are breaking contracts with him and costing him millions of dollars, he has now won millions of passionate supporters.
Our country needs patriotic immigration reform. A start would be to make the already proven and successful E verify program permanent and mandatory, complete with sufficiently high penalties to get the attention of the greedy employers who would ignore it otherwise. If aliens cannot work in this country, they will leave. This will go a long way towards restoring immigration sanity.
And it would be an important step towards preserving the existence of our country and the rule of law, which our veterans fought for so bravely and which this Administration is giving away so recklessly.
Donald Trump has started this debate. He can advance it still further by talking about this simple policy suggestion. And Americans will continue to respond to his message as the Presidential campaign heats up.
Patriotic immigration reform isn’t about Left or Right. This Democrat is happy about Donald Trump’s impact on the race. Hopefully, it is just beginning.
