Here Is the List of the 'CHAMPIONS of the STATUS QUO for IMMIGRATION *AGAINST* JOBLESS AMERICANS'

A very interesting post from http://www.numbersusa.com/ about Senators who are doing nothing to stop bringing in immigrants to compete against unemployed Americans. This follows this post about the large amount of domestic unemployed STEM workers who do not need more workers brought in to compete against them. This follows this post about Freshmen Congressmen who have not yet kept their immigration enforcement promises. This follows this post about Barack Obama's Amnesty Edict. This follows this post about the Black Caucus hurting Black Americans with their immigration stand. This follows this post about how to Report Illegal Immigrants! For more that you can do to get involved click HERE and you can read this very interesting book HERE!

Here Is the List of the 'CHAMPIONS of the STATUS QUO for IMMIGRATION AGAINST JOBLESS AMERICANS'

Our grading system finds that these are the Senators who have done absolutely nothing in the face of 7 million illegal aliens holding non-agricultural jobs and the government giving out permanent work permits to another million immigrants each year.

They have refused to co-sponsor bills that would end the visa lottery and certain rewards for illegal immigration, that would mandate E-Verify to open up jobs now held by illegal aliens, and have declined to introduce legislation of their own to reduce foreign labor importation during a time of high unemployment.

IF WE LOSE THIS ONE, 10 YEARS OF BEATING EVERY AMNESTY WILL BE NULLIFIED

An interesting post from www.NumbersUSA.com about Key Senators to pressure against AMNESTY! This follows this post  about Media Sources to contact about the DREAM ACT and this post which shows that there are 30,000 openly illegal immigrants in the border town of El Paso. On a related note, you can read about Miss Kentucky Latina here or an interesting article about Jessica Alba here. For more that you can do to get involved click HERE!

House-Passed Amnesty Could Hit

Senate For Vote As Early As Wednesday

IF WE LOSE THIS ONE, 10 YEARS OF BEATING

EVERY AMNESTY WILL BE NULLIFIED

My gut feeling is still that we ought to be able to defeat the House-passed Dream Act amnesty when it comes up for a vote in the Senate later this week.

But . . .

Do you really want to rely on my gut?

PHONE THESE UNDECLARED SENATORS

WHO COULD KILL AMNESTY ONCE AND FOR ALL

If you can move at least two of these Senators into NO votes, I don't think there would be any chance of the amnesty passing.

The staffers of a couple of these have been telling our members that their Senator plans to vote NO. But the fact that those Senators have not publicly stated their opposition or shared that in any way with reporters is not a cause for great confidence. So, all of these need all the phone calls they can get. (See "Talking Points" below.)

Use the Capitol Switchboard:

202-224-3121

ALASKA

Sen. Murkowski (R)

LOUISIANA

Sen. Landrieu (D)

MISSOURI

Sen. McCaskill (D)

MONTANA

Sen. Baucus (D)

NORTH DAKOTA

Sen. Conrad (D)

WEST VIRGINIA

Sen. Manchin (D)

Note that most of these states are small-population states. We need a lot more phone calls going to those offices. If you live in those states, or in the same region, or have any other connection to those states, please make the calls. The other side is absolutely flooding their offices with phone calls making the most emotional appeals possible.

PHONE THESE SENATORS WHO NEED

ENCOURAGEMENT TO STICK WITH 'NO'

These Senators would have voted NO last Thursday if Senate Majority Leader Reid had not successfully moved to table the amnesty until he could find some more YES votes.

But there is so much horse trading going on right now with the tax deal, with the funding for the entire federal government still up in the air, with the START Treaty and any number of other issues that have to be resolved before Senators head home.

THESE SENATORS NEED TO HEAR WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT.

Thank them for their publicized promise to vote NO on the amnesty and then remind the staffers why NO is the right vote.

Our Hill Team asks that, if you have a Republican Senator (other than Lugar of Indiana or Bennett of Utah), phone him/her and encourage them to stick with their promise of NO.

But these Senators need the most encouragement because of the special politics of their own states and other vulnerabilities they may have to pressure from the open-borders folks.

ARKANSAS

Sen. Pryor (D)

FLORIDA

Sen. LeMieux (R)

MAINE

Sen. Collins (R)

Sen. Snowe (R)

MASSACHUSETTS

Sen. Brown (R)

NEBRASKA

Sen. Nelson (D)

NORTH CAROLINA

Sen. Hagan (D)

PLEASE DON'T FORGET THAT YOU ARE THANKING THESE SENATORS. They have announced they will vote NO. You are just calling them to let them know that their NO vote will be a popular one.

TURN THESE TWO SENATORS

For some reason, these two Senators who should be NO votes or, at the least, Undeclared were among the few who signed the cloture motion to start debate on the DREAM amnesty.

I feel that both could eventually vote NO on a final cloture vote that would END debate. But for some reason they seem to support STARTING the debate. Let's keep the pressure on them to kill this amnesty with the first cloture vote and not let the debate start in the first place.

MICHIGAN

Sen. Stabenow (D)

NORTH DAKOTA

Sen. Dorgan (D)

TALKING POINTS

I feel like most of the Senators are ignoring the main reasons the DREAM amnesty should not go any farther in this Lame Duck session:

It is a massive amnesty to deal with the symptoms of past out-of-control illegal immigration without a single provision to reduce future illegal immigration.

It creates millions more legal workers to compete with the 22 million Americans who want a full-time job but can't find one. And it does nothing to turn off the jobs magnet for future illegal workers.

Don't forget that the Senators you are calling are basically sympathetic to the young illegal-alien adults who were brought here by their parents.

I don't think speaking against the potential amnesty recipients will be helpful in those offices.

Instead, emphasize the points above and how continued illegal immigration harms American victims.

The DREAM Act amnesty is

(a) full of loopholes

(b) wildly susceptible to fraud

(c) does nothing to end the job magnet that allowed the parents to put these "kids" into their position in the first place.

WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN THIS WEEK

Let me first state what is at stake if we let up and the other side peels off just enough Senators to pass the House-passed amnesty.

How will we feel if we don't put our full effort into lobbying Senators this week and then the amnesty narrowly passes just before everybody goes home for the year? Any amnesty that passes the Senate this week will be signed into law. And even though there is no chance an amnesty could pass next year, there also is no chance that an amnesty passed this week could be overturned by next year's Congress (because of the President's certain veto of an overturning).

The mainstream media for the most part are treating the amnesty as something unlikely to be brought back up for a vote in the Senate, primarily because the legislative calendar is so crowded.

But nearly every group on the pro-amnesty side and on the anti-amnesty side believes that Sen. Reid will live up to his promise to hold the vote.

We don't see Reid bringing up DREAM before the tax deal is settled because the only way to add Republicans as YES votes is to get tax deal done first.

The Senate cloture vote to start debate on the tax deal is scheduled for 3 p.m. today (Monday). Perhaps the tax deal could be settled by Wednesday.

Reid has not yet filed cloture on DREAM. There can be no vote on DREAM until two calendar days after cloture has been filed. If he filed today, the vote could be as early as Wednesday.

I KNOW YOU ARE TIRED OF PHONING, PHONING, PHONING.

SO, THANKS SO MUCH FOR PICKING UP THAT PHONE ONCE AGAIN

House passes amnesty -- Senate votes Thurs morn‏

An interesting post from www.NumbersUSA.com aabout this week's DREAM ACT closure vote. This follows this previous post about it and this post which shows that there are 30,000 openly illegal immigrants in the border town of El Paso. On a related note, you can read about Miss Kentucky Latina here or an interesting article about Jessica Alba here. For more that you can do to get involved click  HERE!

House passes amnesty -- Senate votes Thurs morn‏

WE LOST IN THE HOUSE

Now We Have To Defeat DREAM Act Amnesty In The Senate Thursday Morning.

Start calling your own U.S. Senators at 8 Thursday morning until we announce the vote.

202-224-3121

We will be providing you faxes of thanks and disgust to send to your U.S. Representatives later to make sure they know that you were watching.

For now, though, focus your attention on the Senate.

You can find the Senate target list on our http://www.numbersusa.com/

The House vote at 9:01 p.m. EST tonight was 216-198 in passing the amnesty in the House.

But the amnesty won't actually happen if if the Senate fails to get 60 votes for cloture Thursday. We only have to win once to win the whole thing.

The Senate cloture vote is required to allow the debate to start on the amnesty. If it gets less than 60, the bill is dead.

If cloture DOES pass, there will be a debate on the bill and then another cloture vote in which we can again have a chance to kill the bill by keeping the vote below 60 (of the 100 Senators).

WE'LL WEBCAST SENATE VOTE AND OUR COMMENTARY LIVE

We invite you back into our conference room Thursday morning to watch the Senate vote with our NumbersUSA staff.

Note that the address is not dot com, but dot tv:

http://www.numbersusa.tv/

The Senate schedule states that the amnesty will be taken up after the Senate convenes at 9:30. That could easily change, but we'll be live then in case things start happening that early.

OUR LIVE WEBCAST OF HOUSE AMNESTY VOTE

WAS NO. 1 USTREAM IN THE WORLD WEDNESDAY NIGHT

Thanks to all of you who joined us in our conference room via www.NumbersUSA.tv tonight.

We started at 3:30 p.m. just before Senate Majority Leader Reid had promised to have a Senate vote. We stayed live until we lost the House vote after 9 p.m. We were amazed how many of you stuck with us for hours.

During most of the early part, we were ranked No. 2 in the world. And during the final couple hours we were ranked No. 1 in viewership.

20 House Members Failed To Vote

The usual 218 vote majority was not needed tonight because 20 Representatives failed to show up to vote:

DEMOCRATS: Berry (Ark.), Cohen (Tenn.), Delahunt (Mass.), Kilpatrick (Mich.), Marshall (Ga.), Mollohan (W.Va.), Schiff (Calif.) and Wu (Oregon)

REPUBLICANS: Bilbray (Calif.), Blunt (Mo.) Buyer (Ind.), Fallin (Okla.), Gingrey (Ga.), Granger (Texas), Griffith (Ala.), Marchant (Texas), McMorris Rodgers (Wash.), Radanovich (Calif.) and Stutzman (Ind.)

It is doubtful that these absences affected the final outcome.

8 REPUBLICANS Broke With Their Party Leadership

And Voted FOR The Amnesty

Our chances to defeat the amnesty were sunk with the defection of these 8 Republicans in favor of amnesty:

DELAWARE - Castle

FLORIDA - L. Diaz-Balart

FLORIDA - M. Diaz-Balart

FLORIDA - Ros-Lehtinen

HAWAII - Djou

LOUISIANA - Cao

MICHIGAN - Ehlers

SOUTH CAROLINA - Inglis

38 DEMOCRATS Broke With Their Party Leadership And Voted AGAINST Amnesty

We almost did as well with Democrats as I had hoped. I had always said we needed at least 42 Democrats to vote for unemployed Americans and against the amnesty, although I felt 45 probably was needed. Because of so many Republican defections, we actually needed more.

These were both re-elected Democrats and Democrats who were defeated, all of whom went against incredibly emotional appeals from their Party's top leaders in floor speeches tonight.

It is quite rare for a Speaker of the House to go to the floor and make a speech. But Speaker Pelosi made it clear that passing this amnesty is one of the dearest things to her heart in an impassioned speech that seemed to laud as a hero every citizen of another country who is courageous enough to break our immigration laws.

Nonetheless, these Democrats OPPOSED the amnesty:

ALABAMA - Barrow

ALABAMA - Bright

ARKANSAS - Ross

ILLINOIS - Costello

ILLINOIS - Lipinski

INDIANA - Donnelly

INDIANA - Ellsworth

INDIANA - Visclosky

KENTUCKY - Chandler

MARYLAND - Kratovil

MICHIGAN - Stupak

MINNESOTA - Peterson

MISSISSIPPI - Childers

MISSISSIPPI - Taylor

NEW YORK - Arcuri

NEW YORK - Higgins

NEW YORK - Owens

NORTH CAROLINA - Kissell

NORTH CAROLINA - McIntyre

NORTH CAROLINA - Shuler

OHIO - Boccieri

OHIO - Kaptur

OHIO - Space

OHIO - Wilson

OKLAHOMA - Boren

PENNSYLVANIA - Altmire

PENNSYLVANIA - Carney

PENNYSLVANIA - Critz

PENNSYLVANIA - Dahlkemper

PENNSYLVANIA - Holden

PENNSYLVANIA - Kanjorski

PENNSYLVANIA - P. Murphy

UTAH - Matheson

VIRGINIA - Boucher

VIRGINIA - Nye

WASHINGTON - Baird

WEST VIRGINIA - Rahall

No matter what you may think about the rest of the politics of these Members, I hope those of you in their states will give them major pats on the back for taking this stand.

Notice how they are from all over the country.

Special thanks to all of you Pennsylvanians who outdid yourself with 7 Democrats voting NO.

And how often do you New Yorkers have something to be proud about when it comes to immigration voting? But you did well tonight. So did those of you from Indiana, Ohio and North Carolina.

I'm especially proud of all the Democrats who lost their seats in the November elections and still voted against their Party leaders and against the amnesty tonight.

Most Senate voicemail boxes are full. So, you won't be able to leave messages. You need to start calling after 7 a.m. EST Thursday for a last chance to affect the outcome.

PLEASE PHONE TODAY BEFORE 1st AMNESTY VOTES TOMORROW

An interesting post from www.NumbersUSA.com aabout this week's DREAM ACT closure vote. This follows this previous post about it and this post which shows that there are 30,000 openly illegal immigrants in the border town of El Paso. On a related note, you can read about Miss Kentucky Latina here or an interesting article about Jessica Alba here. For more that you can do to get involved click  HERE!

PLEASE PHONE TODAY BEFORE 1st AMNESTY VOTES TOMORROW

http://www.numbersusa.com/

DEAR CITIZENS OF Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma,

Below are the phone calls we most need you to make today.

The rest of the country is depending on you handling your region.

All of you are absolutely HAMMERING congressional offices with your FAXES the moment I sent out my alert last night. Way to go. As usual, NumbersUSA faxes into Congress far out-number all faxes from all other sources on all other issues! NumbersUSA Faxers rock!

On your phone calls:

(a) Start with Members from your own state.

(b) Then, if you have time, help us with the neighboring states with smaller populations.

(c) If you are totally gung ho, call the ones from larger neighboring states, too.

The plan of congressional leaders is to pass the DREAM Act amnesty late Wednesday morning in the House of Representatives and then pass cloture to start debate in the Senate Wednesday evening.

CALL UNCOMMITTED SENATORS (both R & D)

You don't have the 2012 elections to hold over their heads. But these are Senators who ought to be with us. They need a counter-weight to the thousands of phone calls they are getting from the pro-amnesty forces.

Louisiana

Landrieu, Mary (Democrat)

DC: (202) 224-5824

Local: (225) 389-0395

When you call, tell them this:

you appreciate their general opposition to amnesty in the past but you can't figure out why they haven't announced their opposition this time around.

even if there are young illegal aliens who deserve a chance at an amnesty, the DREAM Act is not the bill -- it has zero enforcement to keep millions of other foreign parents from illegally bringing their children to put them in the same situation that DREAM is supposed to fix.

In addition, thank you phone calls would be helpful to:

Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison

Sen. John Cornyn

Call them through the switchboard at 202-224-3121.

Both of those Texas Senators are pretty strongly in favor of something like the DREAM amnesty but have been driven by their constituents to say they will vote NO. They are under huge pressure from hunger strikers, prayer vigilists, etc. to vote YES. So, it would be good to let them know that their NO vote is much appreciated.

THE STRATEGY FOR WINNING IN THE HOUSE (we are losing at the moment)

Speaker Pelosi knows that she doesn't have commitments for the 218 votes she needs to pass the amnesty. But we don't have commitments for 218 NO votes, either.

Pelosi feels she can pull this one out.

For us to stop her, we are going to have to persuade at least 40 of the Democrats who fall in the categories below (nationwide, so you aren't seeing all the possibilities) to vote NO.

Your phone calls very well may tip the balance.

Phone RE-ELECTED HOUSE Democrats who have leaned in our direction in the past

These Democratic Representatives of Immigration-Reduction Grades of "C" or higher. Most of them faced competitive elections and won. They won in part by being better on immigration than the Nancy Pelosi image of the Party. They hope to run again in 2012.

When you call thank them for supporting American workers rather than illegal workers in the past and tell them how important it is for their District, for the American people and for their future political prospects that they vote against DREAM amnesty on Wednesday.

Oklahoma

Boren, Dan

DC: (202) 225-2701

Local: (918) 687-2533

Phone RETIRING HOUSE Democrats Who Have Usually Leaned in Our Direction

It is among these Democrats that Speaker Pelosi most hopes to gain advantage to pass the DREAM Act. Most of these would have voted NO on the amnesty before the election. Now that they have been defeated or are retiring and don't have to keep up appearances for the impending election, Pelosi believes she can persuade a lot of them to vote against constituent wishes..

They have Immigration-Reduction Grades of "C" or better. Thank them for their opposition to illegal immigration in the past and talk about the need to protect their legacy as they leave Congress by finally putting an end to talk about rewarding illegal immigration with an amnesty which would entice millions more illegal aliens to come.

Arkansas

Berry, Marion

THANKS FOR THE PHONING.

12 Days Until Christmas Ends Amnesty Threat

An interesting post from www.Alipac.us about this week's DREAM ACT closure vote. This follows this previous post about it and this post which shows that there are 30,000 openly illegal immigrants in the border town of El Paso. On a related note, you can read about Miss Kentucky Latina here or an interesting article about Jessica Alba here. For more that you can do to get involved click  HERE!

12 Days Until Christmas Ends Amnesty Threat

After all this week fighting the possibility of an amnesty vote the next day, we think we can now tell you that we are unlikely to have that first amnesty vote until next Wednesday.

If you can keep up the phoning and faxing, we might be able to push the votes off even another week.

www.NumbersUSA.com/actionbuffet

Essentially, there are only 12 legislative days until Christmas ends the amnesty threat.

So, we are going to do everything the rest of this year under the banner of our campaign title:

12 Days Until Christmas Ends Amnesty Threat

Our activist members will be working through these 12 days to make 2010 the 9th year in a row that the grassroots will have completely killed off all attempts to pass any kind of amnesty.

This is what my team sees and believes at this moment:

Sen. Reid did NOT file cloture on DREAM yesterday.

The Senate is working on taxes today and tomorrow. The Republicans have refused to go along with a Unanimous Consent agreement on tax votes, so unless an agreement on that is reached today, they will be voting tomorrow morning on that and then, presumably, leave town.

In any case, Reid could file cloture on amnesty either today or tomorrow, which would mean that the earliest a vote could come would be Tuesday (or more likely Wednesday). However, he could wait until next week to file.

House Members have fled Washington for the comfort of home. When they come back next week, it looks like the leadership is hoping to have an amnesty vote on Wednesday.

Most Hill people now think the Senate won't vote on the amnesty until after the House passes it. If the House takes up the bill on Wednesday and passes it, the Senate might take up the bill on Friday.

Although passage in the House is far more likely than in the Senate, Democratic leaders obviously are having a hard time lining up 218 votes, as they continue to punt the roll call deeper into December.

There are only about 12 legislative days left before Christmas. When Congress goes home for Christmas, everybody seems to agree, this Lame Duck will fly away with them and the amnesty threat will be over (if it hasn't been passed by then.)

Folks, please join me in singing:

On the 12 days of pre-Christmas,

the voters came to see

Congress remove the amnesty

from the congressional pear tree.

Even many mainstream media reporters are starting to adopt the line that our Rosemary Jenks has been quoted saying -- that this will be the last chance for an amnesty for years to come. The pro-amnesty crowd is pouring tens of millions of dollars and every activist trick they have into their last-ditch effort.

They could still win their amnesty this month if all of you don't keep phoning and faxing your opposition:

WARNING: Illegal aliens are beating us all in DC today!

Posted on Monday, December 06
Topic: Americans for Legal Immigration PAC

Friends of ALIPAC,

We have some terrible news to report. According to our friends at NumbersUSA, the illegal aliens and their supporters are beating us with more calls arriving in support of Amnesty than opposed to Amnesty with your lawmakers.

They are even forming new phone banks in expectation of the first votes for Dream Act Amnesty now scheduled for WEDNESDAY Dec. 8!

While several scientific polls show we Americans oppose Dream Act Amnesty 59% to 22%, the well planned and well financed efforts of the Open Borders Lobby are winning in DC.

To turn thing around we need you to: A. Mobilize and respond to our requests for help. B. Mobilize and organize others around our requests for help. (Be the media!) C. Combine your time and funds to help us get more lawmakers and media sources opposing Dream Amnesty ASAP! ...

Step 1: Please vote in this online poll at CBS where the illegals are winning at the time of this email

Vote NO on Amnesty

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20024329-503544.html

Step 2: Please call the 73 targeted offices in the US Congress that are coded YES or UNKNOWN on Dream Act Amnesty. Do your best to get a NO out of these offices. Please report any new YES or NO on Amnesty reports to us so we can adjust our tracking list. Please craft your own message.

Yes, I will not let the illegals win against Americans in DC and I am on the phones now at this link....

http://www.alipac.us/ftopict-219949.html

Let's flood those 73 Democratic offices in Congress with calls and emails fast and furious today (Monday)! Let's grow our "No On Amnesty" list quickly!

1st AMNESTY VOTE LIKELY WEDNESDAY

Congressional leaders are now promising DREAM Act amnesty votes starting on Wednesday. We could kill the whole nightmare if we can win the very first vote.

Please look at the many lists below and see where you can make a difference with the phone on Monday.

The open-borders people were beating us Friday on the phone calls, according to our activists who were on the Hill and in their offices. Furthermore, Pres. Obama's massive grassroots operations are setting up phone banks across the country tomorrow to try to give the appearance of popular support for another amnesty.

YOUR phone calls are the only thing that can change the false impression of grassroots support for amnesty.

No. 1 MOST IMPORTANT ACTION -- UNCOMMITTED 2012 DEMS

Phone Senate Democrats who are up for RE-ELECTION IN 2012 and who remain publicly UNCOMMITTED as to how they will vote on DREAM.

Be polite, because these folks are being brutalized by the pro-amnesty student actvists. They will appreciate a calm phone call.

When you call, tell them one or two of these:

you appreciate their general opposition to amnesty in the past but you can't figure out why they haven't announced their opposition this time around.

if they vote YES on "cloture" for the DREAM amnesty, that vote will be an amnesty albatross around their necks during the 2012 elections

dozens of pro-amnesty Democratic seats in Congress turned Republican in the November elections. Voting YES on this amnesty will help put their Senate seat in jeopardy.

No. 3 CALL LIST -- 2012 SENATE DEMOCRATS

WHO SAY THEY WILL VOTE YES ON AMNESTY

Yes, some of these look like hopeless causes. But they just saw five dozen Democratic seats in Congress flipped to GOP in November. They may not feel so secure any more.

Plus, we're stuck with these Senators for at least two more years. They need to feel just how unpopular their pro-amnesty ways are. Our past experience is that we oten can get 10-20% of these kinds of politicians to pleasantly surprise us when the vote actually occurs if we push hard enough.

No. 4 CALL LIST -- WISHY-WASHY REPUBLICANS

It will be difficult to defeat the amnesty without these Republicans who have been indicating that they will vote NO. But their past performances give us a lot of worry about what they will end up doing. And they are under enormous pressure from the pro-amnesty lobby.

Be polite when you call. Tell them:

the DREAM Act is an amnesty without a single enforcement element that will reduce illegal workers coming to take jobs in the future.

a YES on DREAM is a vote to kill the dreams of millions of young unemployed Americans who can't find a job

even if there are young illegal aliens who deserve a chance at an amnesty, the DREAM Act is not the bill -- it has zero enforcement to keep millions of other foreign parents from illegally bringing their children to put them in the same situation that DREAM is supposed to fix.

No. 5 CALL LIST -- COMMITTED PRO-AMNESTY REPUBLICANS

These Republicans immediately broke with most of the Members of their Party to announce their aggressive support for rewarding and enticing more illegal immigration.

They should not be spared the pain of massive public dissent, especially Lugar who is starting to attract interest for a Primary challenger against him in the 2012 elections.

Call with your animosity toward their announced intention to vote YES on the amnesty.
