Here Is the List of the 'CHAMPIONS of the STATUS QUO for IMMIGRATION *AGAINST* JOBLESS AMERICANS'

A very interesting post from http://www.numbersusa.com/ about Senators who are doing nothing to stop bringing in immigrants to compete against unemployed Americans. This follows this post about the large amount of domestic unemployed STEM workers who do not need more workers brought in to compete against them. This follows this post about Freshmen Congressmen who have not yet kept their immigration enforcement promises. This follows this post about Barack Obama's Amnesty Edict. This follows this post about the Black Caucus hurting Black Americans with their immigration stand. This follows this post about how to Report Illegal Immigrants! For more that you can do to get involved click HERE and you can read this very interesting book HERE!

Here Is the List of the 'CHAMPIONS of the STATUS QUO for IMMIGRATION AGAINST JOBLESS AMERICANS'

Our grading system finds that these are the Senators who have done absolutely nothing in the face of 7 million illegal aliens holding non-agricultural jobs and the government giving out permanent work permits to another million immigrants each year.

They have refused to co-sponsor bills that would end the visa lottery and certain rewards for illegal immigration, that would mandate E-Verify to open up jobs now held by illegal aliens, and have declined to introduce legislation of their own to reduce foreign labor importation during a time of high unemployment.

The Sabbath: It's Not Just a Good Idea, It's a Command from God!

An interesting article from www.ucg.org about the Sabbath in the bible. This follows this post about endtime disasters.  For a free magazine subscription or to get this book for free click HERE! or call 1-888-886-8632.

The Sabbath: It's Not Just a Good Idea, It's a Command from God!

A commentary by Randy D'Alessandro

A recent book is bringing public attention on the seventh-day Sabbath rest. While many agree that a day of rest every week is a good principle, is there more to it than that? See what God and your Bible say about the Sabbath as a day of rest and worship.

Source: Photos.comRecently, on the television morning show Fox and Friends, I saw an interview with Senator Joe Lieberman discussing his new book, "The Gift of Rest: Rediscovering the Beauty of the Sabbath."

Mr. Lieberman, as you recall, is not only a United States Senator but a former vice-presidential nominee and chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee.

The need for a day of rest

As a Sabbath-keeper I was intrigued by this man, who despite his high profile lifestyle, spoke on how the Sabbath has anchored, ordered, and inspired his life. Mr. Lieberman also expressed his encouragement of others who pick a day of the week to rest and keep in a special way.

Setting aside one day in seven as a special day of rest is indeed a good principle, but the real questions are: What does God think, and what does the Bible say? Is resting once a week just a good idea whose time has come in a hectic world, or is resting and worshiping God on a specific day of the week a command from God himself—not just to the Jewish people but to all peoples at all times?

Confusion about the Sabbath

Leaders and authorities from many religious denominations candidly acknowledge that Saturday is the biblical Sabbath day and that there is no biblical basis for Sunday observance. For example, note the following quotes:

"Nowhere in the Bible do we find that Christ or the Apostles ordered that the Sabbath be changed from Saturday to Sunday. We have the commandment of God given to Moses to keep holy the Sabbath day, that is the 7th day of the week, Saturday. Today most Christians keep Sunday because it has been revealed to us by the [Roman Catholic] church outside the Bible" ("To Tell You the Truth," The Catholic Virginian, Oct. 3, 1947, p. 9).

"But since Saturday, not Sunday, is specified in the Bible, isn't it curious that non-Catholics who profess to take their religion directly from the Bible, and not the Church, observe Sunday instead of Saturday? Yes of course, it is inconsistent; but this change was made about 15 centuries before Protestantism was born, and by that time the custom was universally observed. They have continued the custom, even though it rests upon the authority of the Catholic Church and not upon an explicit text in the Bible" (Dr. John O'Brien, Faith of Millions, pp. 543-544).

"You may read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and you will not find a single line authorizing the sanctification of Sunday. The Scriptures enforce the religious observance of Saturday, a day which we never sanctify" (James Cardinal Gibbons, Faith of our Fathers, 88th ed., p. 89).

"We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church, in the Council of Laodicea, transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday" (Peter Geiermann, The Convert's Catechism of Catholic Doctrine, 1957, p. 50).

"The Sabbath was binding in Eden, and it has been in force ever since. This fourth commandment begins with the word 'remember,' showing that the Sabbath already existed when God wrote the law on the tables of stone at Sinai. How can men claim that this one commandment has been done away with when they will admit that the other nine are still binding?" (Dwight L. Moody, Weighed and Wanting, pp. 47-48).

The Sabbath is a gift—and a command—from God

Jesus Christ, in condemning the practices of the religious leaders of His day, said, "In vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.' For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men…All too well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition" (Mark:7:7-9[7]Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.[8]For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.[9]And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.).

According to Christ's own statements, it is possible to worship Him in a way that does no good—that is, it is in vain. God does not give us the choice of how to worship Him—only whether we will worship Him according to His instructions or not.

Bravo to Senator Lieberman for bringing attention to this important command from God! The United Church of God offers you literature that will walk you through the scriptures offering more information about this special gift from God to all mankind. Gas Tax Introduced Today‏

A very interesting post from www.americansolutions.com about a new GAS TAX. This follows this post about keeping gas prices down and this previous article about the recent news about offshore drilling to encourage American energy independence This is a key issue to prevent money from going to hostile countries such as Iran and Venezuela. For more posts like this click here.

Gas Tax Introduced Today‏
Today, Congress once again ignored what Americans want and introduced a new gasoline tax as part of a global warming bill that also contains a cap and trade energy tax on utilities. The section on the gas tax begins on p. 361.
Introduced by Senators John Kerry (D-MA) and Joe Lieberman (I-CT), this bill requires American oil companies to pay a fee to the government for their global warming emissions.
Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), who helped craft the gas tax, admitted the fee "will be passed on" to motorists in the form of higher gasoline prices.
But Senators Kerry and Lieberman are offended that any American would dare call it a gas tax.
Don't be fooled. This is a government requirement that will increase the cost of gasoline. It's a tax. So not only will we have to pay more for gas, we have the added insult of Senators insisting that what we can plainly see as a new gas tax is not actually a gas tax.
The American people know better. And according to an American Solutions poll, 71% of Americans oppose this new gas tax, even if politicians are insisting it is not a gas tax.
In addition, this bill creates a cap and trade system that will dramatically increase the cost of residential and commercial electricity prices.
Even the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office says cap and trade will kill jobs and reduce American productivity.
With one bill, Congress will raise gasoline and electricity prices, raise the cost of energy, and kill jobs. This is not the way to create jobs and prosperity.
This bill is wrong for America. Will you help us defeat it?
We need to get information about this new tax to as many people as possible in the next 48 hours.
Please visit our "Action Center" to forward your friends a special message about this gas tax

Immigration Alert!!

A very interesting alert from FAIR!!

www.fairus.org

HOMELAND SECURITY:Is Governor Napolitano Committed to Saving American Jobs and Securing the Border?
It's no secret that the economy is struggling and more and more Americans are finding themselves scouring the classifieds. As President-Elect Obama and the new Congress discuss plans to stimulate the economy, create new jobs, and help those state governments who are drowning in deficit spending, they may be forgetting an important tool to help protect American workers: E-Verify.
Thursday is the perfect opportunity to begin pressuring the Senate to reauthorize E-Verify. Thursday morning at 10:00 am, Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano, who President-Elect Obama has nominated to serve as the next Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), will be appearing before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs for a hearing on her nomination. As Secretary of DHS, Governor Napolitano will have the critical responsibility of enforcing the nation's immigration laws and securing our borders. In addition, Governor Napolitano will be responsible for the management of the E-Verify program. It is very important that the Members of the committee receive a clear commitment from Governor Napolitano that will support a clean extension of the E-Verify program.

ACTION ITEM Call the Homeland Security and Government Affairs committee leadership and tell them to ask Gov. Napolitano about her position on the E-Verify program, border security, and ending illegal immigration.

Chairman Joe Lieberman - 202.224.4041
Ranking Member Susan Collins - 202.224.2523

NEW! You can watch hearings from your computer. To watch the Napolitano confirmation hearing today, follow this link: Watch Live Hearing.

Tell Your Senators and Representatives It's Time to Protect American Jobs
The E-Verify program is one of the most important tools available for stopping the employment of illegal aliens. It is considered to be so crucial that voluntary participation in the program has skyrocketed from about 5,000 to over 100,000 in just a few short years. In addition, more and more states and local governments are beginning to require that government contractors and businesses use the program as well. After the House overwhelmingly voted in July to reauthorize E-Verify for five years, the Senate failed to pass a similar measure, instead opting to pass a Continuing Resolution (CR) that would extend the program for six months.
The E-Verify program will expire in just six weeks! If E-Verify is not reauthorized, both American workers and those employers who want to follow the law will be left out in the cold. If the new administration and the Democratic leaders are serious about stimulating the economy and creating new jobs, then they should work quickly to permanently reauthorize this important program.

ACTION ITEM: Call your Representatives TODAY and tell them:
E-Verify is the most effective program available for ensuring our workforce is legal and combating illegal immigration.
You insist that they immediately take all steps necessary to reauthorize E-Verify for at least 10 years-- if not more.
You demand they reject any attempts by any members to add special interest language to the reauthorization bill.
