Hail, Mary?

An interesting article from http://www.ucg.org/ about Mary. This follows this previous post about her. This follows this post about Jesus Christ and Christmas. For a free magazine subscription or to get the books recommended for free click HERE! or call 1-888-886- 8632.

I was raised a Catholic. Sunday Mass at our neighborhood Catholic Church was a regular part of the weekly observance of our religion. As a young boy I was taught the Catholic observance of Confession and Communion. For several years I served as an altar boy at daily and Sunday mass. In my late teens I even investigated the possibility of joining the Catholic priesthood.
Then as I was attending Catholic university, I began to read and study the Bible more than I had ever in all my years of Catholic upbringing. I saw things in the Bible that contradicted my Catholic religion. This led to my search for religious faith founded on the Bible, not on Catholic tradition.
In my search, one of the first things that I came to see is that there is no intermediary between God and man other than Jesus Christ. I had been taught that Mary, the mother of Jesus, is the mediator and advocate to intercede to God on our behalf. I had said the “Hail Mary” countless times at family rosary and in my nightly prayers. But in studying the Bible, I found that Jesus Christ is the true intercessor between God and man. Here are some key scriptures that confirm this.
It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us,” (Romans 8:34).
Therefore He (Jesus) is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them,” (Hebrews 7:25).
For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us,” (Hebrews 9:24).
The function of a mediator and an advocate is to intercede on behalf of others. The Catholic tradition I learned assigns this position to Mary. On the other hand, Scripture is plain about the identity of man’s true intercessor before God the Father. Mary is never mentioned in the Bible as an intercessor between God and man. The Bible teaches that anyone who comes to the Father must go through Jesus Christ. It is clear that the Lord Jesus Christ is the only intercessor between God and man.
My understanding of scripture has led me to reject the teachings of the Catholic Church in which I was raised. I concluded that its doctrines are not based on the Bible. Rather, they are based on the teachings of men apart from the Bible. I must therefore agree with Jesus’ statement directed at the Pharisees and apply it to the Catholic Church or any church that teaches man’s doctrine and not God’s.
In vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men,” Matthew 15:9.
It is not me or any man that condemns the teaching of the Catholic Church. Rather, it is the Bible itself, the Word of God, with which Catholic doctrine does not agree.
There are many other doctrines in the Catholic theology that I learned as a child for which I could find no Biblical proof. In fact, many churches share beliefs in common with the Catholic Church that do not square with scripture. Among them are the observance of Sunday as the Lord’s Day instead of keeping holy the seventh day Sabbath; the teaching that the reward of the saved is heaven instead of living with Christ in a Kingdom that comes to earth; the belief in the Trinity, which does not define the true nature of God.
Investigate further for yourself and you will find much in scripture contradicting the doctrines of the Catholic Church and many of the churches of our day.

Ecumenism bridges a major gap: The Virgin Mary

An interesting article from http://www.ucg.org/ about Mary. This follows this post about Pearl Harbor. This follows this post about Jesus Christ and Christmas. For a free magazine subscription or to get the books recommended for free click HERE! or call 1-888-886- 8632.

Some Anglicans are now beginning to accept the Roman Catholic devotion to the Virgin Mary. Wrote Stephen Bates, the religious affairs correspondent of The Times: “After nearly 500 years of intense division, Anglicans and Roman Catholic theologians yesterday decided that one of the two faiths' most fundamental differences—the position of Mary, the mother of Christ—should no longer divide them.”
A new document titled “Mary: Grace and Hope in Christ” was recently published in Seattle. It says: “We don't consider the practice of asking Mary and the saints to pray for us as communion dividing … We believe that there is no continuing theological reason for ecclesiastical division on these matters.” The Anglican-Roman Catholic International Commission produced this document.
Historically, Protestants have normally had difficulty with the Catholic belief embodied in the idea of an Immaculate Conception, in essence meaning Mary was free from the stain of what theologians call original sin. Another stumbling block has been the Roman Catholic belief of her assumption into heaven, body and soul. Most Protestants have generally contended that there is no biblical basis for this religious belief.
Now at least one or two branches of Protestanism appear to be putting the goal of ecumenism before these and other differences—and perhaps gradually coming around to the Catholic way of thinking. To understand whether or not Mary is really in heaven, please request our free booklet Heaven and Hell: What Does the Bible Really Teach? (Source: The Guardian [London].)

Zero Black Congressmen Disavow Keith Ellison’s Plan For A Black Ethnostate

Keith Ellison is running to become the new chair of the Democratic National Committee and progressives generally believe he’ll take a combative approach towards the Trump Administration. Naturally, journalists approve.
Michelle Goldberg at Slate exults:
Ellison, who announced his candidacy Monday, is the co-chairman of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. He was the first Muslim elected to Congress, as well as the first black congressman from Minnesota. Ellison was the second sitting congressman to endorse [Bernie] Sanders but became an indefatigable Clinton surrogate as soon as the primary ended. He is uniquely positioned to unite progressives, carrying the passion of the Sanders movement into the party while representing the racial and religious minorities endangered in the Trump era…
The people who are terrified by Trump’s victory—not white working class Trump voters—need Democrats to represent them. They need politicians who will see them, acknowledge their horror, and fight to muster whatever still exists of our democratic institutions on their behalf. The job of progressive leaders is to say no to Trump, not search for areas of cooperation.
[Why the Democrats Need Keith EllisonNovember 15, 2016]
Of course, Ellison is never been a fan of “cooperation” with white working class voters, not even to the point of being in the same country. Writing under the name Keith E. Hakim while at the University of Minnesota law school, Hakim endorsed a separate country for blacks.
In 1990, after calling for reparations, “Hakim” wrote on the need for even more extensive measures:
“Finally, blacks would have the option of choosing their own land base or remaining in the United States. Since black people toiled most diligently in the southeastern section of the United States, this land, quite naturally, would be most suitable. That means Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi. Blacks, of course, would not be compelled to move to the black state, and, of course, peaceful whites would not be compelled to move away.
[Keith Ellison Once Proposed Making A Separate Country for Blacksby Justin Caruso, Daily Caller, November 26, 2016]
Interestingly, Ellison, er, “Hakim,” says both groups would be happy because whites would no longer have to deal with welfare payments and white guilt and blacks would have real country over their own destiny. There’s implied praise of freedom of association, with Ellison saying interactions between whites and blacks would now be voluntary rather than compelled. He also cuttingly mocks white liberals, who would be opposed to the plan, he says, “they justify their existence by championing so-called lost causes.”
At a time when Steve Bannon of Breitbart and future Senior Adviser to the President is habitually called a “white nationalist” based on no evidence, one would think the explicit endorsement of a black ethnostate by the future head of the DNC could be of some interest to the Main Stream Media. Naturally, it has received far less coverage than, say, the implications of a reporter receiving a message containing a cartoon frog on Twitter.
Even more interesting, none of the members of the Congressional Black Caucus are backing away from Ellison’s call for black independence. Indeed, even now, some of them seem to endorse it or admit they endorsed it in the past.
Congressman Hank Johnson said:
“I don’t see anything really objectionable. What he apparently proposed was a partitioning of the United States into a southeastern section.”
When asked if what Rep. Ellison proposed was black nationalism, Johnson said, “I don’t know what to call it. It seems to have been born out of academia, a thoughtful discussion on possibilities.”
“These are not ideas that have not been discussed by black folks throughout history,” Johnson added. The Georgia congressman said that while he is not in support of the ideas now “there was a time when I would have been.” Johnson told TheDC that time was when he is college.
[Exclusive: Black Congressmen Refuse to Condemn Ellison’s Past Proposal for a ‘Black State,’ by Alex Pfeiffer, Daily Caller, November 30, 2016]
No other members of the Black Congressional Caucus condemned the proposal.
A college student openly endorsing a white ethnostate (let alone endorsing one at age 26, like Ellison) would have a hard time getting an office job anywhere in the country, let alone becoming a congressman, let alone becoming the head of one of America’s two major parties. But politics is about who, not what.
There’s not a double standard. There’s just The Standard. Whites are uniquely evil, they do not deserve to exist, and we must pursue policies which ensure they die out. In contrast, racial nationalism for other groups is healthy and should be supported.

Outsourcing The Priesthood: Catholic Church “Aggressively” Recruits, Ordains Latin Americans, Gets Fraudsters And Pedophiles

While Pope Francis preaches uncritical acceptance of foreign “migrants,” the Roman Catholic Church (of which I am a faithful member) harbors a foreign worker problem of its own: its priests.
Twice in less than six months, foreign priests from Latin America have come to public attention for violating their vows within the Archdiocese of Newark, New Jersey.
  • The Reverend Alex Orozco, a Colombian immigrant:
The Rev. Alex Orozco befriended the elderly women shortly after his assignment to St. Rose of Lima parish in Short Hills.
Orozco was a new priest, charming and kind and afire with enthusiasm.
And always, it seemed, willing to accept money, parishioners said.
For a car. For a big-screen TV. For a house in the Poconos. For another house in his native Colombia. For credit card bills. For a second car. For plane tickets. For furniture. For dental work.
From 2013 through the end of last year, Orozco allegedly took more than $250,000 in cash and goods from women in the wealthy parish after telling them hard-luck stories about the financial woes afflicting him, his family members and his friends.
Priest took more than $250K from ‘grandmas’ at wealthy church, authorities say, By Mark Mueller, NJ.com, October 1, 2015
The case is still under investigation. [Priest accused of taking $250K from ‘grandmas’ goes on leave of absence, lawyer says, By Mark Mueller, NJ.com, October 14, 2015 ]But the admitted facts are damning enough. Orozco, only months after ordination, landed in a very wealthy Essex County parish. He admits to accepting numerous personal gifts from lonely elderly women. “They wanted to embrace me,” Orozco said in explanation. According to statements by relatives, at least one victim and a fellow priest, he “groomed” the old gals with his attentions and charmed them into giving him cash and other things after he give them sob-stories. He even got the local Knights of Columbus to front him $5, 300 for an immigration lawyer. [Statement by Knights of Columbus Council 6386, PDF]
Apart from the sleaziness of this situation a cluster of questions present themselves around this case.
Not surprisingly, Orozco’s ministry has been suspended, but the archdiocese has taken no action of its own. Their spokesman, with the ironic name of Jim Goodness, [Email him] said that what Orozco did may not be a violation of Canon Law. Mark Mueller wrote, in the first story quoted above, that “Jim Goodness…declined comment on the investigation, calling it a personal matter for Orozco because it does not involve church finances.”
According to Mueller in a follow-up story, a fellow priest notified the archdiocesan authorities of Orozco’s questionable behavior three years before the prosecutor took action.
This priest spoke with Mueller on condition of anonymity. Doubtless the diocesan officials know who he is. It is rare for a priest to speak to the press on his own and points to the outrageousness of Orozco’s alleged conduct [Archdiocese officials knew priest was ‘milking’ people for money, clergyman says, By Mark Mueller, NJ.com, October 1, 2015].
The Church has come under a lot of criticism of late. And obviously, there are always a few bad apples. This is all the more reason for it to be extra careful about whom it ordains. This thought seems not to have occurred to the Bishop of the archdiocese of Newark. At least not in the case of Fr. Orozco, who in his native Colombia was a “Television actor, model, and salsa dancer in Bogota” before entering the priesthood.
The wheels will grind, and eventually justice, or its New Jersey equivalent, will be done.
But while writing this up I came across a similar case of misbehavin’ Latin priest that put that comforting thought in some doubt.
  • The Reverend Manuel Gallo Espinosa
It seems that another South American Catholic priest is actually on the lam in connection with a pedophilia allegation going back twelve years. Rev. Manuel Gallo Espinosa’s 15-year-old male alleged victim had gone to Church officials, who took his claims seriously—and tipped off the priest that the paddy wagon might be on its way. Espinosa took the hint and apparently fled to his native Ecuador. After a few months, it became a cold case.
That is, until it transpired that having absconded to the land of the banana, the good Rev. couldn’t resist making a few bucks back in el Norte. According to the very same Mark Mueller of New Jersey Advance Media, Gallo Espinosa had a short second career teaching Spanish (what else?) in Prince George’s County, Maryland. He apparently had no trouble getting a US visa in 2005. Accused rapists don’t make the watch list, it seems. [Where’s ‘Father Manuel’? Police hunting fugitive priest, teacher accused of raping N.J. teen, By Mark Mueller, July 30, 2015]
This is where the case gets curious. Espinosa has been in touch with the same paper that wrote his case up and is telling his story. According to Mueller:
In an extraordinary admission of wrongdoing, a priest sought by authorities in New Jersey has acknowledged engaging in a sexual encounter with a 15-year old boy, but he deflected blame by saying the teen “wanted it” and “evil in his mind.”
EXCLUSIVE: Priest admits sex with minor, says teen ‘wanted’ it, By Mark Mueller, NJ.com, October 1, 2015
See the picture of Gallo-Espinosa and the visa he took out to return to the US, in spite of being wanted.
gallovisa
I encourage VDARE.com readers to read the whole thing, but here is a synopsis of Espinosa’s heartfelt confession of his demerits:
  1. The kid was evil.
  2. “I think I was attracted to him, that is the only explanation I can think of right now.” (Please let us know if anything else occurs to you, Reverend.)
  3. “I just came fr [sic] my country and really in Ecuador a person of 15 years old is not consider [sic] so innocent.” CALLING ANN COULTER!!
  4. The kid squealed on me for the money. (This may be true but so what?)
  5. Blame it on Budweiser. “I [sic] very drunk and I was very confused with beer because the beer in my country doesn’t have much alcohol. Everything was new for me.”
  6. Hey, this doesn’t make me a bad person. “I want people [to] know that a mistake made in my life doesn’t define myself that way.”
Espinosa’s lame and unreflective mea not so culpa displays all the cultural defects of Latin Americans, with little of the sagacity or humility one expects in a priest. It sounds like what you hear in Night Court. How could someone as blithely unserious to a great calling have made it into the priesthood?
NJ.com’s Mueller provides a hint. In his October 1 story about Colombian import Orozco, linked above, he wrote:
The archdiocese [of Newark] has among the highest rates of ordination in the country, in part because it aggressively recruits potential priests from South and Central America and from the Philippines, according to annual statistics compiled by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.“
It would seem a reckless desire to fill slots overrides concern for the sanctity of the priesthood or the safety of the congregants. The Church is outsourcing its priesthood rather like Disney outsourced its IT department.

World News and Trends Violent crime and robbery up in America

An interesting article from http://www.ucg.org/ about crime. This follows this post about Sodom and Gomorrah. This follows this post about trade deficits. This follows this post about Turkey's leader, Erdogan. For a free magazine subscription or to get the books recommended for free click HERE! or call 1-888-886- 8632.

Time magazine stated, “Driven by a big jump in robberies, violent crime in the U.S. edged up 1.3% last year, according to preliminary FBI data” (June 18, 2007, emphasis added). Violent crime essentially means murder, rape, robbery with violence and aggravated assault.
The piece in Time listed the top 15 violent American cities. All of them are in the Midwest/Eastern area of the United States with the sole exception of Oakland, Calif. In contrast Irvine, California, is regarded as the safest city in the United States. Flint, St. Louis and Detroit head the list of the most violent, in that order. New York City is now ranked 119th, the result of intense crime-reduction efforts over recent years.
Britain has also suffered from a rise in violence. “The British Crime Survey found violent offences were up 5 per cent, and a separate survey of all-night drinking indicated a rise in offences between 3 am and 6 pm” ( The London News, July 19, 2007). According to Metropolitan police statistics, 906,442 crimes were reported in London during the past 12 months. The figures include 175 murders, 179,063 crimes of violence, 2,145 rapes, 44,179 robberies and 95,886 burglaries.
These criminal activities are serious and shameful blights on our Western way of life. Too many have abandoned the Judeo-Christian morality under which both nations rose to greatness. And too few have taught their children to live by the Ten Commandments.

There's More Than a Crack on the Liberty Bell

An interesting article from http://www.ucg.org/ about the Liberty Bell. This follows this post about Christians and Passover. This follows this post about LGBT homosexuality. This follows this post about Planned Parenthood in light of Kamala Harris's raid. For a free magazine subscription or to get the books recommended for free click HERE! or call 1-888-886- 8632.

The Fourth of July is coming up this week. This holiday honors a unique event in history. It's a commemoration of the time when men declared themselves free of the hereditary rule of other men and established a society not guided by right of birth, but guided by the privilege of individual freedom based on “the rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”
July 4, 1776 began a new historical era in human relationships. Nothing would ever be the same again. History had reversed itself. Based on these tenets of individual liberty, the 13 colonies would ultimately emerge into becoming the Unites States of America, and would ultimately become the dominant nation on earth and the main exporter of the notion of political freedom.
Other than the Statue of Liberty in New York Harbor, there is perhaps no more revered icon of liberty in America that depicts “feelings of the Fourth” other than the Liberty Bell. Its claim on Americans' affections comes from the fact that its toll rallied the people of Philadelphia to the first public reading of the Declaration of Independence in front of Independence Hall on July 8, 1776. It was here that the common man would become attuned to his destiny. “Let freedom ring” is often associated with this single piece of molded iron.
But what about the familiar crack up the side of the bell? The bell has a notorious history of trial and error in its many moldings and later tollings, but it is commonly agreed that the final expansion of the crack, which would silence the “Bell of Freedom,” occurred on Washington’s Birthday in 1846. Now it is simply a monument for the ages.
But what other resonating message does this now dormant bell still tell us besides the exploits of the American Revolution and the faulty casting that ultimately led to its famous crack? Embedded into its iron fabric is an inscription from the biblical passage of Leviticus 25:10 which says, “Proclaim Liberty Throughout All the Land Unto All the Inhabitants.”
But why this phrase on this particular bell? It's best understood by opening up your Bible to the same scripture and focusing on the preceding thought of “And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year.”
The bell was commissioned to be crafted by the Pennsylvania Assembly to commemorate the 50-year anniversary of William Penn's 1701 Charter of Privileges. This progressive document, Pennsylvania’s first constitution, established broad freedoms regarding religious expression, a humane stance regarding Native Americans, and the inclusion of the citizenry in local government issues. Penn's genius of establishing new approaches to relationships in a New World was worthy of a golden anniversary memento.
But what liberty was being proclaimed in the original context of the scripture embedded next to the famous crack? And when was it proclaimed?
The preceding verse of Leviticus 25:9 states: “Then you shall cause the trumpet of the Jubilee to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month; on the Day of Atonement you shall make the trumpet sound throughout all the land.”
A reading of the entirety of Leviticus 25 will reveal to you that every 50 years at this time: 1) Families that had lost their land had it returned; 2) People who had become indentured servants due to economic conditions were released; and 3) In general, debts were forgiven. No wonder liberty was proclaimed “throughout the land” with the dawning of a new existence on the Day of Atonement.
Does this sound too good to be true? What is this Day of Atonement that is mentioned in verse 9? Does it have any relevance to our day? Or is it simply a cherished relic of the past, like the Liberty Bell, which has seen its best days come and gone?
Actually, it's a day whose meaning reveals and annually reminds Christians that we are truly free in Christ and that ultimately “the rulers of the darkness of this age” (Ephesians 6:12) will be cast aside on the trash heap of history on the ultimate independence day of the future.
Want to know more? Just click on to our Literature Library Section, then go to Booklets, and click on to God's Holy Day Plan: The Promise of Hope for All Mankind . The section on the Day of Atonement begins on page 38. It explains the future reality of how God is going to elevate all humanity to the ultimate rights of “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”
Until then, we wish you a happy Fourth of July—and remember, there’s more than a crack on the bell.

Pope Worried — Losing Millions of Members

A timely post from www.chick.com about Roman Catholicism. This follows this post about Mexico.

Pope Worried — Losing Millions of Members
Home Page

Catholic leaders in Latin America and Africa are becoming increasingly concerned with the loss of their members to the exploding evangelical churches. For example, in Brazil in 1960, the pope could count on about 90 percent of the population being Roman Catholic. Today, it is less than 67 percent. Pope Benedict XVI made a special trip there in May in 2008 where he decried the “sects” who were using “aggressive” tactics to win souls.
Several hundred years ago, Europe was mainly under the heel of the Vatican. The common people were mostly illiterate allowing Rome to keep them in ignorance and superstition. Bibles had to be hand copied and were very expensive. Besides, owning a Bible was outright prohibited in some places.
Then, along came a man named Gutenburg with a high tech machine that threatened the pope’s grip on the general populace. It was called the “printing press.” Bibles could now be reproduced cheaply and more people learned to read. They soon learned that the pope was running a big con game that had nothing to do with obeying the Bible.
The resulting “Reformation” changed the western world. Instead of blind subservience to superstitions and ritual, the common man could now educate himself and build a world with freedom to serve God according to the Bible. The pope fought back with widespread slaughter of the Bible believers. But the word was out: you could get to heaven without the pope’s help.
Today, that same paper and ink technology plus radio, TV and the internet is bringing biblical Truth to the rest of the world where Roman Catholic superstition and ritual once ruled. Fortunately, with today’s world-wide information technology, the pope can no longer order an inquisition and burn the Bible believers at the stake. That would be bad publicity. So what is their weapon of choice?
Cardinal Walter Kasper, head of the Vatican office of relations with other Christians, recommended a redoubling of their present strategy: “…ecumenism is not an option but an obligation.” This “ecumenism” is now the pope’s effort to draw all religions, including protestants, under his control.
Chick Publications has published several books and comics warning of the dangers of accepting Roman Catholicism as just another denomination. In Smokescreens, Jack Chick shows how even today’s “protestant” leaders have been duped with this lie. The Alberto Crusaders Comics series provides much historical detail of Rome’s war against the saints. There, ex-Jesuit Alberto Rivera also explains Rome’s shift from persecution to seduction. David W. Daniels traces Rome’s history of perverting of scripture in Did the Catholic Church Give Us The Bible?
Today in the US, Rome has been hugely successful in convincing evangelicals that she is truly Christian —with just a “different worship tradition.” But in Latin America and parts of Africa, millions are leaving Catholicism’s dead ritual for the life-changing gift of eternal life through trusting Christ alone (no Virgin Mary goddess needed) for salvation.
Tract passers tell us that Spanish-speaking people are among the most receptive they have found to a gospel tract. They usually accept them with a smile and gratitude. Let’s love them enough to give them a chance to escape from the pope’s domination. Give them a tract!

Catholic Group Sends Cakes to Thank Planned Parenthood Staff After It Sells Aborted Babies

Catholic Group Sends Cakes to Thank Planned Parenthood Staff After It Sells Aborted Babies

National Sarah Zagorski       Washington, DC

Apparently, Catholics for Choice want their friends at Planned Parenthood to know how appreciated they are since they will be “harassed” tomorrow at the protests across the country regarding their organ harvesting business.
As LifeNews previously reported, tens of thousands of pro-life advocates are planning to protest at over 300 Planned Parenthood locations in response to seven videos showing their top executives haggling over the cost of aborted babies’ body parts and discussing ways to alter procedures to obtain organs for harvesting. Unbelievably, the newest video catches the abortion company dissecting the brain of a live baby after an abortion.
In a press release, the “Catholic” group writes, “Women’s health clinics across the country will again be harassed by the anti-choice movement this weekend. In response, Catholics organized to remind clinic staff that we stand with Planned Parenthood and support the important work they do. Today, Catholics for Choice delivered cakes and messages of goodwill to women’s clinics on behalf of Catholic supporters, showing that only a small minority of Catholics agree with the extremist voices of the bishops on the question of abortion.”
SIGN THE PETITION! Congress Must De-Fund Planned Parenthood Immediately
Yes, you read that right— the pro-abortion group is planning to deliver cakes to Planned Parenthood, and they believe only a small minority of Catholics agree with “extremist voices” that want to defund the abortion company. They continue, “On Saturday, antiabortion groups across the country will harass and intimidate women seeking care at Planned Parenthood affiliates. The protests are trying to drum up attention for a video smear campaign that is being used in attempts to strip the group of federal and state funds and deny women access to reproductive healthcare services.”
Keep up with the latest pro-life news and information on Twitter.
The President of Catholics for Choice, Jon O’Brien, said, “It is clear that Catholics support Planned Parenthood and reject the extremist rhetoric and dirty, underhanded tactics of the antiabortion lobby. We wanted clinic workers, doctors and nurses to know that we stand with Planned Parenthood and the women they care for.”
Unfortunately, for the pro-abortion group, it is unlikely that the majority of Catholics agree with their radical views on abortion; and it is even more unlikely that Catholics look favorably upon Planned Parenthood’s practice of dismembering babies and selling their organs for profit.
The truth is the Catholic Church’s teaching on abortion is clear, and in 2013, Pope Francis reiterated that they will never compromise on their opposition against it. He said, “I want to be completely honest in this regard. This is not something subject to alleged reforms or ‘modernizations’. It is not ‘progressive’ to try to resolve problems by eliminating a human life.”
Here’s more from Catholics for Choice:
“The US bishops’ own opinion survey showed that only a paltry 11 percent of Americans believe abortion should be illegal,” continued O’Brien. “Catholics for Choice is mobilizing its nearly 35,000 social media supporters to stand up to the bullying tactics, including conservative politicians in five states trying to defund Planned Parenthood at the state level and calls for increased regulation and legislative investigations in several others.”
SIGN THE PETITION! Congress Must Investigate Planned Parenthood for Selling Aborted Baby Parts
“The cakes and the messages to clinic staff are important. We need to organize citizens of all faiths and no faith to remind our elected officials that these attempts to defund Planned Parenthood will only hurt poor folks in our communities.”
“With this campaign, we are drawing a line in the sand. We are standing on the side of reason and with the poor. We are asking our elected officials to join us and stand with Planned Parenthood
