Hamas-linked group that has publicized fake anti-Muslim hate crimes says anti-Muslim hate incidents rising in Minnesota schools

This is an interesting article from www.jihadwatch.org about a fake hate crime which is similar to what Tea Party activists are being accused of! This follows this post about coordination between Shi'ite Iran and the Sunni Taliban. Another issue is Barack Obama's failure to dry up money rogue states by allowinng domestic offshore oil drilling instead of sending oil revenues to nations like Iran and Venezuela and everybody concerned about anti-Americanism should support this. Hamas-linked group that has publicized fake anti-Muslim hate crimes says anti-Muslim hate incidents rising in Minnesota schools
CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case -- so named by the Justice Department. CAIR operatives have repeatedly refused to denounce Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups. Several former CAIR officials have been convicted of various crimes related to jihad terror. CAIR's cofounder and longtime Board chairman (Omar Ahmad), as well as its chief spokesman (Honest Ibe Hooper), have made Islamic supremacist statements.
From "CAIR's Hate Crimes Nonsense" by Daniel Pipes and Sharon Chadha:
CAIR cites the July 9, 2004 case of apparent arson at a Muslim-owned grocery store in Everett, Washington. But investigators quickly determined that Mirza Akram, the store's operator, staged the arson to avoid meeting his scheduled payments and to collect on an insurance policy. Although Akram's antics were long ago exposed as a fraud, CAIR continues to list this case as an anti-Muslim hate crime.
CAIR also states that "a Muslim-owned market was burned down in Texas" on August 6, 2004. But already a month later, the owner was arrested for having set fire to his own business. Why does CAIR include this incident in its report?
CAIR lists the March 2005 lawsuit filed by the Salmi family for the firebombing of their family van as one example of a hate crime report it received in 2004. However, the crime named in the lawsuit occurred in March 2003, was already reported by CAIR in 2003, and should not have been tabulated again in the 2004 report.
CAIR reports that "a home-made bomb exploded outside of the Champions Mosque in the Houston suburb of Spring, Texas," staking its claim on eyewitness reports that on July 4, 2004, "two white males" were seen placing the bomb. We inquired about the incident and found that Spring's sheriff department could not locate any police files about an explosion. Further inquiries to the mosque and an e-mail to CAIR both went unanswered. There is scant evidence that any crime even occurred.
CAIR notes that "investigators in Massachusetts are still investigating a potential hate-motivated arson against the Al-Baqi Islamic Center in Springfield." However the case was long ago ruled a simple robbery, news that even CAIR's own website has posted. The Associated Press reported on January 21, 2005, that prosecutors determined the fire was set by teen-age boys "who broke into the Al-Baqi mosque to steal money and candy, then set the fire to cover their tracks." The boys, they clarified, "weren't motivated by hatred toward Muslims."
CAIR describes what happened to a Muslim family in Tucson, Arizona: "bullet shots pierced their home as they ate dinner in October 2004" and two months later their truck was smashed and vandalized. But the only evidence that either incident was motivated by hate of Muslims is the Dehdashti family itself, not the police. Detective Frank Rovi of Pima County Sheriff's Department, who handled the shooting investigation, said that according to the neighbors, the desert area by the Dehdashti house was often used for target practice. Neither incident was classified as a hate crime and both cases were closed by February 2005, long before the CAIR report went to press.
Of twenty "anti-Muslim hate crimes" in 2004 that CAIR describes, at least six are invalid – and further research could likely find problems with the other fourteen instances.
Should a group with a track record like this really be given a pass by AP and Minnesota education authorities?
"Muslim Group: Hate Incidents On Rise In MN Schools," from AP, March 24 (thanks to Wheeler):
ST. PAUL (AP) ― A Muslim civil rights group is calling on the Department of Education to investigate reports of racial and religious tensions in Minnesota public schools.
The Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations asked for the department's help Wednesday, following reports of anti-Muslim incidents around the state.
Muslim students have allegedly been called names and faced harassment by students and teachers. In one case, CAIR says, two students shoved pork bacon in the faces of Muslim high school girls. Muslims do not eat pork.
In another case, CAIR says, a bus driver went past Muslim students waiting at a bus stop. And CAIR says a teacher told students to spray air freshener when Muslim students entered a room....

Most Americans Still at Odds with Obama on Health-Care Costs, Border Security

A timely article from http://www.alipac.us about American's opinion on Obamacare and Amnesty on the heels of the recent BIASed attacks on Tea Party members. This follows this post the open flaunting of the lack of immigration enforcement and this post which shows that there are 30,000 openly illegal immigrants in the border town of El Paso across from the recent Juarez shooting. Most Americans Still at Odds with Obama on Health-Care Costs, Border Security
Posted on Wednesday, March 24 @ 01:38:57

Health-care reform legislation may have finally passed Congress and a comprehensive immigration reform bill is forthcoming, but Americans are still at odds with President Obama on those key issues, according to new polls. On health care, Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) have consistently spoken of “bending the cost curve” downward, but a new Rasmussen poll finds that a majority of likely voters believes cost remains the biggest problem in the health care system, and that the new reform bill will actually drive the cost of care up, not down.Subjects: Illegal immigration, President Obama, comprehensive immigration reform, health-care bill, border control, pollsMarch 23, 2010Christopher NeefusCybercast News ServiceThe polling firm asked respondents about the problems they see in the current system: “What is the biggest problem with health care -- the lack of universal coverage, the cost, the inconvenience of scheduling or the quality of care?” Fifty-four (54) percent chose cost over any other problem. Just 24 percent of voters thought lack of universal coverage was the foremost problem. Only 11 percent identified quality of care as the biggest concern and just 2 percent picked inconvenience of scheduling. After the Senate’s version of health care reform passed the House of Representatives late Sunday night (by a 219-212 vote), the House speaker reiterated what she said all week: that she believed the bill would cut costs, saying it would build a “fiscally sound” future for America. Voters, however, are unconvinced. Fifty-seven (57) percent told the pollster they believe the health-care plan, when enacted, will cause prices to go up contrary to the stated goal of reform. Just 17 percent of likely voters believe the president’s pitch that the cost of care will go down. Democrats in Congress passed the health-care bill passed despite of voter skepticism and in spite of opinion polls that have consistently shown Americans opposed to the plan. Now congressional Democrats are poised to tackle immigration reform, legislation which Sens. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Lindsay Graham (R-S.C.) have been working on drafting for months. The legislation, an outline of which Schumer and Graham unveiled last week, will include a “path to citizenship” for illegal immigrants already in the country, a guest worker program to allow people to more readily move across the border, and a high-tech biometric Social Security card that would be used by employers to verify a worker’s status. It would also allow employers to hire illegal immigrants only if they could not find an American for the job position. But Americans disagree with this approach. According to Rasmussen, fully 68 percent of likely voters say controlling the border is more important than legalizing those undocumented workers already living here in the U.S. Just 26 percent held the opposite view. Rasmussen also found that 67 percent said illegal immigrants represent “a significant strain” on the federal budget and 66 percent say the availability of U.S. government services draw immigrants here. Interestingly, 45 percent say it is somewhat likely that Congress will pass law creating a pathway to citizenship this year, while just 20 percent think it is likely Congress will pass any law that gets better control of the border. Meanwhile, voters are also skeptical about the administration’s handling of border security. Rasmussen found last week that just 26 percent of likely voters agree with the Obama administration’s decision to halt funding for constructing its virtual border fence, known as SBInet. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, who as governor of Arizona opposed the border fence, announced last Tuesday she was freezing funding for the program and redirecting extra stimulus funding from SBInet to other border security initiatives. “Not only do we have an obligation to secure our borders,” she said in a statement, “we have a responsibility to do so in the most cost effective way possible. The system of sensors and cameras along the Southwest border known as SBInet has been plagued with cost overruns and missed deadlines.” Boeing, the company contracted to build and implement the technology, is reportedly two years behind on the project and is still trying to work on the first section of the fence, a 28-mile stretch in Arizona. But a full 59 percent of Americans said the administration should continue building the fence along the U.S. border with Mexico, stretching from Brownsville to San Ysidro. Only 15 percent were not sure. Those numbers show little change over the past few years, falling between the 60 percent approval last January and the 56 percent recorded by Rasmussen in August 2007. The freeze is in effect until a complete survey of the fence’s progress, which Napolitano ordered in January, can be completed. The polls all carry a margin of error of +/- 3 percentage points, surveyed 1,000 likely voters, and were conducted in March 2010.

Coward Russ Carnahan Pushes Bogus Tea Party Lie to Media– Claims Prayer Service With Coffin Was a Violent Threat

An interesting story from http://biggovernment.com/ about a so-called "Tea Party threat" which you are hearing more and more BIASED stories about. This follows Planned Parenthood declaring victory in the health care bill and this post about the slander against the Tea Party Protesters against Obamacare on Sunday March 21 in Washington D.C. Coward Russ Carnahan Pushes Bogus Tea Party Lie to Media– Claims Prayer Service With Coffin Was a Violent Threat

by Jim Hoft
Remember as you read this: There is nothing the democratic-media complex will not do to lie about the tea party patriots or to prop up these horrid leftists who are transforming our country into some kind of quasi-socialist state.
On Sunday night several members of the St. Louis Tea Party Coalition held a prayer vigil at Russ Carnahan’s office for the millions of babies that will be slaughtered under the democrat’s pro-abortion health care bill. We also prayed for the handicapped and the elderly who will be turned away as they face the death panels created by this bill. And, as we stood outside his office in the rain, we prayed for our country and for the democrats in Washington DC who were stealing away our freedom at that very moment.
We brought a coffin with us to represent the millions of Americans who will suffer from inadequate treatment and perish under Obamacare.
(KSDK Photo)
Local reporters from KSDK News Channel 5 showed up to interview myself and others after our prayer service.
KSDK put together this report on our peaceful protest:
In St. Louis, people on both sides of the issue gathered to watch the vote. Those in favor of healthcare reform came to celebrate, those opposed came to mourn.
For the Tea Party protesters, it was a somber night. Jim Hoft says, “We’re sad about what’s going on tonight in Washington D.C.”
And so complete with candles and casket, they held a funeral, grieving over the heathcare changes to come.
Hoft says, “We believe they’re taking away our freedom and this represents death to part of what we’ve grown up with.”
And the tears here were very real. Cynthia Rice says, “It’ll change everything for us.”
After our prayer service we took our coffin and went and prayed on the sidewalk outside of Russ Carnahan’s home.

We prayed for Russ Carnahan. We prayed that God would forgive him for taking away our freedom. We prayed for the babies who will never feel the warmth of the sun or a gentle spring rain. We prayed for the elderly who will die waiting for care because they couldn’t make it past the Obama death panels.

We prayed for Russ Carnahan.
So obviously it came as quite a shock tonight to see that the Carnahan people and the Democratic-media complex had twisted this innocent prayer vigil into some kind of threat against Russ Carnahan. The Politico reported:
A coffin was placed on a Missouri Democrat’s lawn, another in a string of incidents against lawmakers after their vote Sunday on a health care overhaul.
Rep. Russ Carnahan (D-Mo.) had a coffin placed “near his home,” a spokesman said Wednesday evening.
“Carnahan appreciates thoughtful feedback received both in favor and opposition of health insurance reform,” Carnahan spokesman Jim Hubbard told POLITICO Wednesday evening “We can disagree on important issues facing our country without resorting to this kind of thing. Russ Carnahan isn’t going to shy away from the importance of reform when 45,000 fellow Americans died last year due to a lack of health insurance.”
Of course, this is a complete lie.
Russ Carnahan is so frightened to meet with his constituents after his very unpopular vote that he is now lying about a prayer service. This is despicable. Russ Carnahan never said anything when his SEIU supporters beat, kicked and stomped on Kenneth Gladney in a parking lot outside one of his events. These were the same supporters he was sneaking into one of his staged town halls. Instead of apologizing for his supporter’s violence, he is making up stories about peaceful tea party protesters at a prayer service.
This won’t stand. There was a time Russ Carnahan and the Politico could get away with this awful lie. Those days are over. We demand that the liberal cranks at Politico and Russ Carnahan retract their dishonest tea party hit piece.
See also… Russ Carnahan fears the reaper.
UPDATE: The Carnahans told reporters that the coffin was left on their lawn. This is an absolute lie. We had a prayer service and then left. The state-run media didn’t bother to follow up on this outrageous lie before they published their hit piece. The coffin is currently in a member’s garage…. Oh, and the protest was on SUNDAY not Wednesday.

NewsBusters Interview: Jonah Goldberg, Author of 'Liberal Fascism' (Part I)

Along with racist, the word fascist is one of the most common epithets you hear tossed around. Has the constant repetition of the word made it lose its meaning? Does anyone really know what it means? These are questions that Jonah Goldberg seeks to answer in his #1 best-selling book "Liberal Fascism: The Secret History of the American Left, From Mussolini to the Politics of Meaning."
If you haven't picked up a copy yet, this is one book you need to buy.
As part of our tradition of bringing you in-depth interviews with America's political leaders, I took the opportuntity to speak by phone with Goldberg about "Liberal Fascism." Our conversation is quite extensive but well worth the read. Given the length of the interview (which is available in audio format as well as transcript), I've broken it down into two portions: the first in which Goldberg discusses his many leftist critics including his confrontation with comedian Jon Stewart, and the second in which Goldberg discusses conservatism and where he believes it's headed. This is the first installment. Read the transcript below or download an audio copy.

NewsBusters Interview: Jonah Goldberg (Part II)

The future of conservatism is something which has become something of a hot topic. It's become evident to many that the historical moment that made the so-called Reagan coalition possible has passed, raising the inevitable question: where do we go from here? Has the right lost its way? Should conservatism be dependent upon the Republican party? What sorts of ideas should 21st century conservatism project?
These are just a few of the topics I asked Jonah Goldberg in Part II of our NewsBusters Interview with the author of "Liberal Fascism." See the partial transcript below or download an audio copy.

Will Global Economic Turmoil Precede Jesus Christ's Return?

Will Global Economic Turmoil Precede Jesus Christ's Return?
What possible connection could the global marketplace have with Jesus Christ's return? Do you understand the Bible's prophetic links?
by Roger Foster
Changes in the world's economy, now shaken by a major downturn, significantly threaten your personal lifestyle. As Time magazine expressed it, the recent events are "the most dangerous shock in mature financial markets since the 1930s" (Oct. 20, 2008). Faced with a problem of this magnitude, we should seriously consider these economic trends in the light of biblical prophecy!
Revelation, the last book of the Bible, is devoted to prophecy. John says that it's literally "the revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants—things which must shortly [or quickly] take place"—especially in the last days (Revelation 1:1).
The book's 18th chapter describes a dominant system of international trade supported by corrupt political and religious allies whose combined sins "have reached to heaven" (verse 5). The Bible also shows that the return of Jesus Christ will bring about the collapse and destruction of that global system.
Before that happens, though, it will exercise for a short time immense control over the lives of the earth's inhabitants so that "no one may buy or sell" without its permission (Revelation 13:17). It will stringently regulate all international commerce.
Prior to the recent economic crisis it would have seemed almost absurd to predict such a drastic global change in economic outlook and practice. After all, our society greatly values individual freedom. What could possibly induce the citizens of civilized nations to accept such intrusive controls over their right to buy and sell as they please?
An earlier time of economic turmoil
On a regional level this scenario has already been played out once in the last century. The collapse of the world's free economies, trade wars and the economic turmoil of the Great Depression of the 1930s helped catapult Adolf Hitler to power. Hitler's solutions restored Germany to world power and made him a hero among most of his own people until the military defeat of his Nazi regime in 1945.
Today those who were adults during the Great Depression are rapidly passing from the scene. Their accounts of plummeting wages, loss of homes and jobs, and pervasive hunger seem long ago and far away. At one point in the 1930s, unemployment reached more than 25 percent in America.
The stock markets went crazy, and corporate shares fell in value overnight. As wages fell, debt repayment became more and more difficult.
Mortgage defaults skyrocketed. Business earnings dropped. Large corporations went bankrupt. People became aimless and idle. Hunger and fear became their constant companions. It was a downward spiral into economic oblivion. Little wonder that our parents and grandparents referred to the financial disaster they experienced as the Great Depression.
Could history repeat?
Today few people in the industrialized world have any concept of what happens when severe deflation—an economically crippling drop in prices and wages—sets in. The possibility of out-of-control deflation is already a threat as a direct result of the current economic crisis.
A recent leading headline, "Deflation Threat Grows Worldwide," in the International Herald Tribune (Nov. 2, 2008) bears this out. The article, by national economic writer Peter Goodman, went on to say: "As dozens of countries slip deeper into financial distress in alarming unison, a new threat may be gathering force: the prospect that goods will pile up without buyers and prices will steadily fall, suffocating fresh investment and worsening joblessness for many months or even years.
"The word for this syndrome is deflation, or falling prices, a term that generates chills among professional economists. Deflation accompanied the Great Depression of the 1930s. Persistently falling prices were at the heart of Japan's so-called lost decade following the catastrophic collapse of its real estate bubble at the end of the 1980s, a period in which some experts now find parallels to the U.S. predicament" (emphasis added throughout).
Only a few short months ago inflation—rising prices—was the dominant economic problem as skyrocketing costs of oil and food battered the world economy. But, as the article notes, "that now seems like another era. As the U.S. economy has weakened, and as much of the globe has followed, demand for oil, iron ore, grains and other commodities has swiftly diminished, bringing prices down sharply.
"The new worry is that the end of inflation may be the beginning of something more malevolent: a long, broad retrenchment in which consumers and businesses worldwide lose their ability to buy and prices for many goods fall.
"That would prompt businesses to slow production and accelerate layoffs, taking more paychecks out of the economy and further weakening demand for many products and services."
Worldwide recession on the horizon?
In contrast to inflation, Goodman notes, deflation is a far more difficult economic malady to cure. "Policy makers can generally choke off inflation by raising interest rates and dampening economic activity and reducing demand for goods.
"But as Japan discovered in the 1990s, an economy might remain ensnared by deflation for many years, even when interest rates are dropped to zero. Falling prices reduce opportunities for profit, making companies reluctant to invest even when they can borrow money for free."
This is what happened in Japan in the 1990s, with devastating results. Property prices fell, along with the prices of many goods. Businesses had no incentive to invest, so they laid off employees. For lack of buyers, goods piled up—sending prices even lower in a downward spiral.
Do we see similar dangers today? "Some fear the U.S. economy could be sinking toward a similar experience as consumers lose their wherewithal to purchase just as much of Europe, Asia and Latin America succumb to a slowdown," Goodman cautions.
The recent economic crises show that such a problem likely would not be limited to just the United States.
"Not since the Great Depression have so many countries been required to tackle so many interlocking afflictions at once," Goodman notes. "A financial crisis born in the United States has gone global, like a virus mutating in the face of every experimental cure. From South Korea to Pakistan to the Baltics to Turkey to Brazil, the pandemic has spread, bringing with it a tightening of credit that has starved even relatively healthy companies of the ability to finance operations, prompting job losses and diminishing demand for goods."
Goodman quotes former International Monetary Fund economist Kenneth Rogoff as saying: "We're entering a really fierce global recession. A significant financial crisis has been allowed to morph into a full-fledged global panic. It's a very dangerous situation."
Will history be repeated?
During times of such economic deprivation, history has shown that people respond favorably to strong leaders who show promise of quickly bringing order out of chaos.
But drastic problems can lead to drastic solutions. People want immediate action, not principles and platitudes. The leaders most likely to act decisively are those who have no objection to trampling on the rights of others to accomplish their agendas. They get things done, but at a high cost to the freedom and rights of others.
In the end they reward those who provide the support they need to keep themselves in power. They call themselves benefactors and statesmen. History sees them as despots and tyrants.
This is what happened in Central Europe between 1929 and 1945 as rulers assumed dictatorial powers and plunged the world into a global conflagration.
Bible prophecy indicates that a similar scenario will unfold just before Jesus Christ returns. It reveals that 10 "kings"—heads of state—will throw their power, authority and support behind a superleader whom the Bible compares to a clever and powerful animal, a "beast" (Revelation 17:12-13). The political entity this leader will create is likewise characterized as a beast—a cunning and dominant animal that preys on the very ones it purports to protect.
The Bible indicates that managing the global economy—by controlling what can be bought or sold, and by whom—may be a major reason for this system's initial appeal. For this to happen the international community may have to enter an economic crisis so enormous, so threatening, that nations will find themselves desperate for a solution.
If history repeats itself, a bold and daring new plan may be presented and adopted. And as before, the loss of individual rights and freedoms built into this new socio-economic and political system may well be presented as only temporary. But the Bible shows that what ultimately follows will become so appalling that only the return of Jesus Christ can stop it.
Let's now consider an unseen power destined to bring about this global change.
Ancient origins of an end-time system
In committing to writing the revelation that Jesus Christ gave him concerning this coming political and commercial system, the apostle John first connects us with this evil system's spiritual roots. According to the Bible, an unseen spirit being, a fallen angel called Satan the devil, rules the earth behind the scenes. This malevolent spirit is increasingly angry as he sees the approaching end of his influence.
John speaks of that "great dragon . . . , that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world" (Revelation 12:9; see also 1 John 5:19). This enraged adversary of God and His people has committed himself to make war against those who "keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ" (verse 17). He and his army of unseen demonic spirits are the unrealized driving force behind these events. (To understand further, request or download our free booklet Is There Really a Devil?)
The apostle John next refers to the physical and cultural origins of this ungodly system that is yet to arise from deep in the reservoir of ancient human tradition: "I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name. Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion" (Revelation 13:1-2).
These are the exact characteristics the book of Daniel ascribed to the ancient kingdoms of Greece, Persia and Babylon. John is telling us that there is a direct link between some of the dominant characteristics of those kingdoms and the socio-political system that Jesus Christ will destroy at His coming.
Ancient Babylon, in particular, destroyed the temple of God in Jerusalem, conquered the kingdom of Judah and took its people into captivity. As such, it symbolically became the ultimate adversary of God's people.
Notice who will manipulate the world's final superdictator from behind the scenes: "The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority" (verse 2). Satan is never far from the action. It is his agenda that will really shape this new power that will emerge.
The important religious connection
At present the nations of Europe appear to be growing more and more secular. But this era will end. The new system described above will embody much more than socio-political aspects. It will also have enormous religious support. To convey this point the apostle John introduces "another beast" that, in some ways, resembles a lamb but speaks "like a dragon" (verse 11).
This beast performs miracles and "deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast" (verses 13-14). These verses describe a great religious deceiver who is referred to as "the false prophet" in Revelation 19:20. His miracles will abruptly bring the present secular era to an end.
His influence will be enormous. "He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name" (Revelation 13:16-17). Also he "causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast" (verse 12).
By throwing the full force of his deceptive religious power behind the socioeconomic and political schemes of the first beast, this false prophet will play a leading role in persuading humanity to accept and support the coming transformation of the world's economic and political structures. All who consent will unwittingly enslave themselves to the state.
The masters of commerce
In the end it will be the merchants and traders who will make this Babylon-like system function (Revelation 17:5). Their global trade will include "merchandise of gold and silver, precious stones and pearls, fine linen and purple, silk and scarlet . . . every kind of object of most precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble . . . fine flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots [transport vehicles—cars in our day], and [even] bodies and souls of men" (Revelation 18:12-13).
Today, as we experience a major credit crisis in the world's financial system, it is appropriate that we reflect on how greed and the manipulation of human needs will dramatically affect the future of mankind. We can't know exactly when it will happen, but based on Bible prophecies it seems a likely scenario that at some point a general breakdown of the world's economy will trigger a massive rethinking of man's social, political and economic assumptions.
The chaos of that time will set the stage for the next event. The Bible reveals that a powerful, appealing political "beast" will emerge with vast military and economic powers. For a short time his economic policies will lead some to revel in their regained prosperity, wealth and power. But his system will succeed only because all opposition will be smashed. Those who refuse to submit to his economic system will be excluded or killed (Revelation 13:15-18).
Dawn of a new era
The book of Revelation also reveals that God the Father will finally send Jesus Christ back to the earth to end and replace all ungodly governing systems: "After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, ‘Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God! For true and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her'" (Revelation 19:1-2).
At the return of Christ the oppressive political and economic system springing from ancient Babylon will be permanently destroyed. At that time "the merchants of these things, who became rich by her, will stand at a distance for fear of her torment, weeping and wailing, and saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city that was clothed in fine linen, purple, and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls! For in one hour such great riches came to nothing'" (Revelation 18:15-17).
Also "the kings of the earth"—the world's leaders and power brokers—"who committed fornication [here symbolizing illicit political relations] and lived luxuriously with her will weep and lament for her, when they see the smoke of her burning, standing at a distance for fear of her torment, saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For in one hour your judgment has come'" (verses 9-10).
Then the world's final experiment with the political, religious and economic systems patterned after the dictatorial Babylonian model will end, and Jesus Christ's righteous rule on earth will begin! GN

Iranians training Taliban: "Our religions and our histories are different but our target is the same. We both want to kill Americans."

This is an interesting article from www.jihadwatch.org about a coordination between Shi'ite Iran and the Sunni Taliban. This follows this post about Obama's criticisms of Israel. Another issue is Barack Obama's failure to dry up money rogue states by allowinng domestic offshore oil drilling instead of sending oil revenues to nations like Iran and Venezuela and everybody concerned about anti-Americanism should support this. Iranians training Taliban: "Our religions and our histories are different but our target is the same. We both want to kill Americans."

If I had a nickel for all the times people in audiences where I've spoken, or emailers to this site, or learned analysts with whom I've debated, or any number of other people have told me confidently that Islam is not a monolith, that the umma is rent by deep divisions, and that the simple Sunni-Shi'ite divide about which every schoolchild knows would preclude any large-scale cooperative jihad action -- if I had a nickel for every one, I'd be able to buy that Jihad Watch learjet I had to return when Jamal Badawi reneged on his promise.
Islam is indeed not a monolith. The umma is indeed rent by deep divisions. Sunnis and Shi'ites do indeed hate each other. You'll note that the Taliban rep quoted here even says that the Iranians and the Taliban have different religions. But will Sunnis and Shi'ites cooperate in jihad activity? Sure, no problem. Iranian already funds Hamas. And now this.
"Iranians train Taliban to use roadside bombs," by Miles Amoore in The Sunday Times, March 21 (thanks to all who sent this in):
TALIBAN commanders have revealed that hundreds of insurgents have been trained in Iran to kill Nato forces in Afghanistan.
The commanders said they had learnt to mount complex ambushes and lay improvised explosive devices (IEDs), which have been responsible for most of the deaths of British troops in Helmand province. [...]
According to the commanders, Iranian officials paid them to attend three-month courses during the winter. [...]
Karl Eikenberry, the American ambassador to Afghanistan, recently described signs of co-operation between Iran and the Taliban as disturbing.
"Iran or elements within Iran have provided training assistance and some weapons to the Taliban," he said.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran has publicly backed his Afghan counterpart, Hamid Karzai. But American and British officials have accused Iran of playing a double game by giving covert backing to the Taliban.
Shi'ite Iran had long opposed the Sunni-dominated Taliban. The reason for the change was summarised by one Taliban commander who said of the Iranians: "Our religions and our histories are different but our target is the same. We both want to kill Americans."

Planned Parenthood Dismisses 'Symbolic' Executive Order, Declares Health Care Victory

By Kathleen Gilbert
WASHINGTON, D.C., March 23, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) -

Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards has issued a statement declaring victory after the Senate health care bill's passage Sunday, noting that the abortion-related executive order Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) agreed to in exchange for pro-life Democrats' votes was merely a "symbolic gesture."
Stupak had argued after the vote that, contrary to the affirmations of virtually every top pro-life organization in the U.S., Obama's promised executive order "is worth more than the paper it is written on."
"The only option you had was leave the Senate language or strengthen it to prevent abortions under an executive order - that's what we did, we stayed true to those principles - or vote no," the Michigan Democrat told FOX News. "So you kill the bill and we do not have health care ... I've always said I want to see health care for the nation.''
Yet according to Planned Parenthood - in an assessment not unlike those of the National Right to Life Committee and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops - the executive order would do little to hinder the "abortion industry bailout" embedded in the legislation.
“For more than a year, Planned Parenthood has worked tirelessly for a health care reform bill that would fix our broken health care system, strengthen women’s health, and achieve quality, affordable health care for all Americans," Richards said in a statement Sunday.
"Today, monumental progress was made toward achieving these goals with the passage of historic health care reform legislation by the U.S. House of Representatives," she said, "despite a symbolic gesture, in the form of an Executive Order, to anti-choice Congressman Bart Stupak (D-MI), which has diverted attention from the central goal of health care reform — controlling costs and extending coverage."
Richards also pointed out that the legislation will "significantly increase access to reproductive health care."
“Nonetheless," she continued, "we regret that a pro-choice president of a pro-choice nation was forced to sign an Executive Order that further codifies the proposed anti-choice language in the health care reform bill, originally proposed by Senator Ben Nelson of Nebraska."
"What the president’s executive order did not do is include the complete and total ban on private health insurance coverage for abortion that Congressman Bart Stupak (D–MI) had insisted upon," said Richards. "So while we regret that this proposed Executive Order has given the imprimatur of the president to Senator Nelson’s language, it is critically important to note that it does not include the Stupak abortion ban."
