RACES OF NATIONAL IMMIGRATION SIGNIFICANCE

A timely post from www.NumbersUSA.com about some immigration races. This follows this post about the immigration non-enforcement and this post about the MURDER of ROBERT KRENTZ, who the protestors and boycotters won't give a solution for, but will call Americans racist for trying to prevent another MURDER, and this post which shows that there are 30,000 openly illegal immigrants in the border town of El Paso. TOM TANCREDO & OTHER RACES OF NATIONAL IMMIGRATION SIGNIFICANCE

On this last day before candidates' Sept. 1 financial reporting requirements (that signal which candidates are serious contenders), many activists are asking about races of national significance for the immigration movement.

Each of you can make decisions for yourself by perusing through the Candidate Comparison pages for every congressional and gubernatorial race. Click here.

NumbersUSA does not endorse candidates and does not run a Political Action Committee. But we do try to make sure that you know the best candidates for enforcing immigration laws and reducing immigration numbers. Based on all your other interests, you can then go to these candidates' websites to offer any kind of support you like.

Tom Tancredo is again carrying the torch for the immigration-reduction movement in a heated three-way race for the open seat of Colorado governor.

During the past 12 years, no official worked harder or was more courageous in advancing the cause of working-class Americans and beleaguered taxpayers against the unfair burdens of our immigration systems.

You can checkout Tancredo's website here.

Former Congressman Tancredo is running as an Independent against the Democratic and Republican nominees. Ordinarily, this would make no sense at all. Tancredo did not run for the GOP nomination because he had assurances that the front-runner would be tough on illegal immigration in Colorado. But just before the Primary election, the front-runner was exposed in a scandal that threw the GOP nomination to a much-less known candidate who not only has his own financial baggage but who has a very sketchy platform on immigration.

Meanwhile, the Democratic nominee for Colorado governor has presided over a sanctuary city for years and has a history of hiring illegal aliens in his private business.

Colorado appeared poised to have yet another governor who invited illegal aliens to move there. And the flow is increasing sharply as Oklahoma and Arizona drive illegal aliens out. Colorado is in danger of becoming an entire sanctuary state.

Hence, Tancredo's decision to attempt the incredibly difficult Independent run for governor.

That really raises the stakes. If Tancredo loses -- especially if he loses badly -- the national media will interpret that as a defeat for immigration sanity and support for allowing illegal aliens to work and live in the U.S. with impunity.

We will be continuing to show you races that really matter in the national immigration debate. Here are a few more to mention today:

Rep. Walt Minnick (D-Idaho) is a freshman Democrat who has stood up strong against Party leadership.

He could take a lot more initiative and should be challenged to do so. But the choice is between him and a Republican immigration attorney whose positions on immigration are much more suspect. It is very important for our movement that Democrats can show that taking an immigration-enforcement position can help them win in competitive districts. And it is important for Republicans to understand that to win competitive districts they have to take as strong a stand for immigration-reduction as possible.

There are other Democrats who have stood up to Party leadership who deserve a look for support this autumn. Take a look at their races, their web pages and their opponents.

Here's where you can see the Democratic incumbents who have shown the most courage against their open-borders Party Leaders. Check out the top 35 grades.

It's difficult to imagine a more important public-image race than the one for Senator from Nevada. Look at the comparison.

Nobody running for election this year has been more radical and more destructive with his leadership on immigration than incumbent Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nevada).

Fortunately, he is being challenged by a True Reformer who has pledged to support all 12 of NumbersUSA's top immigration priorities. Of certain national significance will be the success of Republican nominee Sharron Angle.

Continuing the Western theme of this email, take a look at the Arizona/Mexico border where Democrat incumbent Gabby Giffords (D+) has tried to look tough while mostly assisting the open-borders leaders of her Party.

Will the border congressional district that probably is suffering more than any other district in the country from illegal immigration be served by somebody who would really take a stand to stop the invasion? Great national interest in this race. Look at the comparison of candidates.

The Republican nominee is Jesse Kelly who is a True Reformer, having pledged to support all 12 of NumbersUSA's top immigration priorities.

For those looking for a good race to jump into that can really make a national difference, those are some good ones to take a look at today.
